About the only thing that it falls short on is the straps are shorter than I 'd like, such that I only have about an inch of strap beyond the buckle and would prefer to see another 1- 2 inches for better adjustability. This is a cheap and simple way to add some safety to your climbing. I bought this originally to give my parents some peace of mind but after my girlfriend dropped a quickdraw on my noggin I was happy I had it. This is light enough and durable enough to take with you to any crag. Make sure you use it, I forget sometimes.

Great helmet, covers enough to protect my head( I 've had 4 concussions) yet it's not huge, I 'm a small so less is more. I really like the built- in sunglasses however it's really hard to wipe your sweat above the brow and when you blow your nose it sprays inside the lens( LOL). I 'm a triathlete so I 'm on the bike for several hours during a race and it's nice to be able to do those things. Looking forward to my next race where I can get used to it more but I definitely feel well protected in it which is the whole point.

What can I say or how do I even begin… As I am writing this review to you Smith Sports Optics on this 3rd week from my accident I was struck from behind by a motorist traveling at 45+mph in the bike- lane that didn ’ t see me because he was negligently on his mobile phone… Currently I ’ m healing/recovering from my injuries of a acetabular fracture, fractured right clavicle& major muscle tears to my left tricep… Carbon Road Bike is completely totalled, Smith helmet is completely totalled but one thing, it saved my life! This is an extremely comfortable and well made helmet. The Ignite design looks great and it is very practical- the vents help regulate heat and still allow for a very aero product. This is my go to helmet for both racing and training rides. 10/10 would recommend the Ignite helmet!

Chose matte petrol and was happy to see what this color really looks like, a matted darker blue with a very faint iridescence that is really cool, but not flashy. Helmet fits great, 58cm head, and large size has enough room for balaclava I use when colder. Very comfy without looking like bobblehead. I was worried about purchasing a helmet online without doing a fit in store, but I measured my toddlers head and went with the Small as he was right at the limit for XS. Not only does it fit perfectly, it ’s extremely easy to adjust so as he grows it will be no problem adjusting the size. He also just loves wearing it. He wants to wear it around the house for no reason, so that must mean it ’s fairly comfortable on his head. The MIPS gives me some extra peace of mind, especially with a toddler who can always use added protection. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Been out of the MTB game for awhile and back at it soon. Getting my gear updated and needed a new helmet. I haven&# x27; t used it yet riding, but early impressions are a) great fit( size medium and I&# x27; m right in the middle of the size guide), good retention and head hugger system( even pressure vs. pressure points), MiPs and Koroyd, and a modern aesthetic. One downside is that I can&# x27; t figure out how to insert my glasses arms into the open slots since the Koroyd prevents the arms to stick into the helmet holes. The visor has 3 adjustable positions to accommodate glasses or goggles, but since the Koroyd blocks the holes, it doesn&# x27; t allow the glasses to be placed. Small detail( to me at least) since I rarely put glasses on my helmet( but again, it&# x27;s been awhile and maybe this is the new norm). Otherwise, great helmet.

[ I bought this helmet as a gift and it did not disappoint. I like the new look of the Oakley helmets. Not to mention the safety component. He is a large, and he was able to use the boa on the back bottom of the helmet for a more custom fit.

I have oddly sensitive ears and get pain from standard ear pads on most helmets, but the mod5 has ear cups with a hollow space inside that fit perfectly. Helmet has lots of ventilation and does not feel heavy when wearing. Kept me warm on a cold day recently, and with all these vents I 'm sure it 'll be cool in the spring.. I would buy again.
