I chose this because of the magenta/purple color and love it. While it's marketed as a youth helmet, it can fit a woman's head. I 'm a 5' 4 '' adult woman, and my head size is 55- 56, so within the 50- 57 size. I tend to have a `` hot head, '' but the ventilation on this helmet is excellent, so my hair was n't wet after a 1- hour bike ride. It fits well, is super lightweight and comfortable, and the Roc- Loc fit system allows a perfect fit. My only scare was the Roc- Loc was fully tightened when shipped, so when I first tried it on I thought it was too small. Once we loosened it, it fit well, and then even better once tightened.

[ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology — Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

This is easily the most comfortable full face I 've ever used. The pads included allow you to really dial in the fit. The lack of the front mesh piece makes it easy to get a bit valve or squirt from a bottle. [ I bought this helmet in the AVIP orange back in May, so I have been able to wear it for several months now. Although it took me a bit to get used to bulkier appearance when comparing it to my previous[ other major brand] helmet, it does not feel overly large or bulky. It is lightweight and very comfortable. The new MIPS Integra system is very similar to POC's proprietary SPIN technology with the gel pad liners, which are removable and washable. The bright orange is easily visible, which is nice for hunting season as some of the bike trails in Michigan( where I live) allow for hunting... even saw the guts of a deer once that were left literally on the trail.

The ventilation was n't great either. I then got the next generation tectal with the spin. That helmet had great ventilation and did not interfere with glasses or head bands, but it was so low on the brow that the helmet almost sat on my glasses. I also have the POC AVIP octal road helmet for road and gravel rides and the MIPs liner gives me similar fits to the trabec, but less so. I ordered the Kortal solely for the color being close to blaze orange. Living in Maine and riding in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont in the fall can be terrifying as everyone seems to be out trying to hunt turkey, deer, moose, bear, etc. This turned out to be the best ventilated, best fitting, least obtrusive concussion mitigation system helmet I 've had. And I 'm pretty sure a hunter wo n't confuse me for a deer, moose, bear, or turkey while I 'm wearing this helmet.

[ I 'm a huge fan of the POC Tectal. Used it for 5 years without issue. The kortal has replaced it forever. It fits a little different, but seems to fit more people better than the tectal. I have the L/XL and it fits about the same as the Tectal's XL/XXL( just follow the size numbers). It's coverage is similar but slightly better than the tectal. It's a bit thicker in the forehead and back/rear edge areas, but it's not noticeable while riding. It vents at least as well as the tectal, but I have yet to ride in very hot weather. I have n't crashed with it yet, but it has a ton of coverage. But for all that coverage, it does n't interfere at all while riding. It's the first helmet I 've used in a long time where I do n't notice it at all. The only minor downside is that the visor is somewhat useless at blocking the sun when it's in the medium or higher positions. But that's okay. It act like a scoop, ramming extra air into the vents. I 'll take that trade- off any day of the week. Fantastic helmet. Quality in every aspect, stylish, and I 've no doubt it will be extremely protective.

I have always used Smith helmets for skiing and am impressed with them- the helmets fit well and the koroyd gives superior protection without being uncomfortable. So enter the Network helmet choice. I am very pleased with the performance of this helmet- the fit is great and it has has just the right amount of added koroyd protection. The helmet still vents well and the extra protection is something that I appreciate and hope to never have to use. I have read reviews that indicated this helmet a little heavy but I have not found that to be the case. Been out of the MTB game for awhile and back at it soon. Getting my gear updated and needed a new helmet. I haven&# x27; t used it yet riding, but early impressions are a) great fit( size medium and I&# x27; m right in the middle of the size guide), good retention and head hugger system( even pressure vs. pressure points), MiPs and Koroyd, and a modern aesthetic. One downside is that I can&# x27; t figure out how to insert my glasses arms into the open slots since the Koroyd prevents the arms to stick into the helmet holes. The visor has 3 adjustable positions to accommodate glasses or goggles, but since the Koroyd blocks the holes, it doesn&# x27; t allow the glasses to be placed. Small detail( to me at least) since I rarely put glasses on my helmet( but again, it&# x27;s been awhile and maybe this is the new norm). Otherwise, great helmet.
