Neither my husband or I wore a bike helmet in the past. This spring I bought an expensive bell helmet mail order and wore it two or three times before leaving it on the shelf for good it felt a little large too me and very uncomfortable. After i got my husband a speedometer this summer we noticed we were often going 20 mph or faster. After my husband came home From a solo ride where he said he was going particularly fast almost 30 mph( yikes) I told him that he should really be wearing a helmet and suggesting he try the helmet I had bought. I noticed my husband returned home from from his next few solo rides with my helmet. I finally asked how he liked wearing a helmet and he told me it was quite comfortable and made him feel much safer. He also asked how i would feel If he wore it while We rode together. I repeatedly hiked out of ice crags and alpine environments not realizing I ’ m wearing my helmet until I knocked it on the roof of my car while getting in. The best helmet is the one you don ’ t know you ’ re wearing. I previously had an old petzl hard shell helmet and while comfortable, you knew you were wearing a helmet. We ’ ll see how this holds up long term, but after most of an ice climbing season, it ’s still pristine.

I 've used this solely for outdoor rock climbing so far. It's been amazing. The helmet is extremely breathable. It manages to stay on your head while your shifting it around, due to the highly adjustable fit. Numerous people have used it, and its been well liked due the the adjustability. I have used it in cold and rainy weather, and it fits seamlessly into my Mammut Eiger Extreme shell. Overall a great helmet for getting into climbing.

It is lightweight enough that I barely notice it on my head or attached to my pack, it's extremely comfortable, and it fits over a hat if I want to wear one. I also like the low- fuss adjustments of the soft nylon straps in the back, which other helmets that I 've tried often make out of hard plastic, which can be uncomfortable. It fits snug, and though I( thankfully) have n't had to test its performance in a fall/during rockfall, I have no doubt it will do its job. I was a little worried about the durability of the exposed foam, but after carrying it through a heavy hailstorm and generally banging it around in the back of the car or on whatever summit I take it off on, I ca n't spot a single dent.

It fits like a glove and I totally forget I 'm wearing it while riding. It's by far not as bulky as the POC helmets and it also feels at least subjectively lighter. My wife has had this helmet for several years. She wore it pretty regularly until this past summer. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. My very first time skiing my husband convinced me that I did n't need a helmet. I 'd be on bunny or beginner slopes all day it was a waste of money so I agreed. it was icy, I got too fast I fell and slammed my head on the ground. It was a surreal experience walked away with a concussion. Worst week ever. So I went shopping for a helmet. I tried on several but went for the giro sestriere. It feels very good warm not hot. Comfortable not heavy. I have skied with it for 4 sessions now and love it. Always wear one now.

After trying several different brands and models of helmets, I found the one that fits me perfectly. The helmet is nice and snug and my goggles do not push down into my nose. This was a big selling point for me. Suggestion: take your goggles with you when checking out new helmets!

Overall, I really like this helmet. First of all, I only considered MIPS helmets due to previous personal injuries. In the climbing industry, so far, there's only a few of them as I write this: this one, Smith, and two Black Diamond ones. The Black Diamond Capitan was too heavy for me, and the other Black Diamond was a contender, but in the end, the sizing was off, and even the largest size did n't fit my head well. This Wall Rider MIPS helmet is lightweight, comfortable, and so far, it has been durable. I 've used it on 10+ trips over the course of a year, and it has n't shown wear- and- tear, although the white top has gotten scratches( cosmetic) and is no longer pure white. The only downsides I would say are that the chin strap took me a while to dial down the sizing to where I wanted it( the strap barely covers my ears) and that the helmet sometimes covers part of my eyes if I look down too much, not staying in place. That is annoying when I 'm climbing, and sometimes I have to readjust the helmet by pushing it backwards so that it does n't cover part of my top eyesight.

I wore the cheapest BD helmet for years before finally choosing to upgrade. I have pretty slick hair, so I needed a helmet to stay in place. The strap system in this helmet does just that. The lightweight foam body made wearing this very comfortable on long days. I can also attest after whipping upside down that my noggin is safe and was cushioned well.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

My wife and i ride a lot sometimes together and sometimes alone. Usually when we ride together we take it slooowwww. We have never worn helmets. In the spring my wife bought a giro reveal helmet. She only wears it when she bikes alone because she says she goes fast. Yesterday i was taking a ride and wife mentioned for me to “ be careful as i know you don ’ t have a helmet ”. I 'd really prefer not to wear a helmet, but if I did injure my head I would never hear the end of it from my wife who thinks that I should n't be on a bike to begin with. So, comfort, air circulation and price were the three most important factors in my choice. When you 're 80 years old, style does n't really matter. Color was a minor factor since I live in the AZ desert, and this helmet came in white. This helmet met my 3 main criteria. It's comfortable, although I had to expand the `` liner '' to its fullest using the adjustment knob. I also had to extend the straps to their longest length.( My hat size is 7 3/4) While my rides are early in the morning while the temperature is still in the low 90's, the air circulation seems quite good. The price was ok. The less expensive helmets were not a comfortable fit
