I have oddly sensitive ears and get pain from standard ear pads on most helmets, but the mod5 has ear cups with a hollow space inside that fit perfectly. [ This helmet is super light and the size is very customizable. I was able to fit a beanie on underneath comfortably. Have n't taken any rocks to the head with it( thankfully) so ca n't comment on its durability.

[ I haven ’ t had this long, so I can ’ t speak to the long- term durability yet. Although, it seems more durable that my last Mammut MIPS helmet because there ’s more plastic covering the foam. I loved the looks of the Mammut helmet, but for the price it was not durable enough( it broke shoving into my pack). This helmet is equally if not more attractive. I didn ’ t know if I ’ d like the chin strap magnet clip on the Petzl helmet, but I like it fine so far.

[ Perfect fit, very comfortable, warm, great ventilation and love the magnetic clasp. Several people have noted that it is a little heavier but I do not notice it being any heavier than my previous helmet also a Smith. My Oakley goggles fit perfectly with the helmet. Highly recommend this helmet.

[ This is an incredibly comfortable helmet, I wore this with just an under armor style shell and was warm all day. The magnetic clasp is fantastic for gloved hands, the adjustment works really well. I got it in lava red and love the color. This also fits very well with my smith googles!

Love the fit and I 'm able to wear my head phones. There's a small zipper section in the back of the helmet to put your headphones of they are not buds, but have a wire. Very comfortable. Good air flow too.

I am very happy with this purchase. I have a larger head and have some issues finding a helmet that fits right. I love how this helmet fits, and I love the fit system has a little play. You can ’ t beat the price point for a MIPs helmet. My only downside is that it doesn ’ t have boa so you can ’ t lock it in, but it ’s fine.

[ As a mom who would prefer to wrap my children in bubble wrap head to toe for any sporting event, this is a top notch helmet. Fortunately I can ’ t really tell you how well it works, but it is built solid. Smith has a great reputation, it is warm, and adjustable. My 9 year old wore it sledding last weekend and didn ’ t complain once. That ’s kind of rare;) I have Smith MIPS helmets for everyone in my family. They are a 2020 must for down hill skiing and long hill sledding.

After 20 years I finally started skiing again so this is my first helmet purchase for myself. My son started snowboarding in 2019 and we purchased this same helmet for him and he loves it. We looked at every helmet on the shelf a DSGoods and the design, comfort and price point made this our choice again. We never wore helmets in the 80 ’s- 90 ’s but now I truly understand why it ’s important and practical now. It ’s comfortable, warm, and vented so it ’s cool if needed.

[ I used this helmet on a recent trip to Jackson Hole. This helmet is by far the lightest and most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. The adjustable vent is a nice feature which is easy to use even while wearing gloves. You will not look like a Bobble Head wearing this helmet.
