I saw an expert review rating this helmet very high. I wanted to get the technologically advanced MIPS feature which it has. The helmet is very lightweight, has a lot of vents to keep me cooler on long rides in summer heat. I passed up the dark red and black helmet that would have looked great with my bike in order to get the bright white color that would be more visible to motorists. It is lighter weight than the good Bell helmet I replaced, and the straps are lighter, more flexible material. Very pleased with this helmet.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

This is a cheap and simple way to add some safety to your climbing. I bought this originally to give my parents some peace of mind but after my girlfriend dropped a quickdraw on my noggin I was happy I had it. [ I began straying from mountain biking recently and got a Gravel bike. Wanted a lighter and more vented helmet and my Giro mtb helmet has always fit perfect and been so comfy. This is the same way! Consistent sizing, no hot- spots or areas where the cinch system pinches or stabs my head. Mammut, in my opinion, has the best defined helmets, they 've dialed the fit, using lots of fine adjustment and upped the game with state of the art even lighter materials, wind tunnel like designs and cool functioning looks. I am still climbing and wearing a Mammut Helmet and also use mine when riding my bike.

It fits well, is super lightweight and comfortable, and the Roc- Loc fit system allows a perfect fit. My only scare was the Roc- Loc was fully tightened when shipped, so when I first tried it on I thought it was too small. Once we loosened it, it fit well, and then even better once tightened.
