This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

First just a huge fan of Mammoth stuff. Great gear, high quality and has a good look to it. This is a good helmet for climbing, biking, and honestly if you are n't worried about fashion on the jobsite can get away with it on some low key sites. The chin strap gets you points with the safety crew. But note it is not TYPE 2, so no help on that. Just type 1 and EN 12492. All good and Mammoth keep making cool stuff!

There was some worry about the straps being a little thinner but they are sturdy and do not twist when using. Only issue I took the inner liner out to wash and broke the mips plastic holding tabs. They don ’ t service them so I had to buy a new helmet. Keeping my old one for spare tabs in case it happens again. Also huge plus they sell replacement liners so you don ’ t have to throw it out when it gets nasty from sweat. Overall favorite helmet I ’ ve owned so far
