I am a beginner climbing popular rock only, no big fall or large rock drop encountered so I have no idea on its protection and durability but it looks really cool so you might climb more and wear it more so.... you might have to buy a new one to substitute. [ I 've been climbing for over 50 years and used/worn a lot of helmets. In the 60's they were really klunky, heavy, thick, and tended to spin on your head falling forward covering your eyes. In the 70's and 80's only beginners, nerds and ice climbers used them.( Real men, etc. etc.) and the `` brain buckets '' had n't changed much... In the 90's as Ice became more popular, the manufacturers took heed, with the Europeans setting the standard. Early 2000's super light foams made the scene in bicycling and climbing helmets as did more and more climbers and screaming whippers so even the Hard Men and Women could justify wearing crash hats. Mammut, in my opinion, has the best defined helmets, they 've dialed the fit, using lots of fine adjustment and upped the game with state of the art even lighter materials, wind tunnel like designs and cool functioning looks. I am still climbing and wearing a Mammut Helmet and also use mine when riding my bike.

I saw an expert review rating this helmet very high. I wanted to get the technologically advanced MIPS feature which it has. The helmet is very lightweight, has a lot of vents to keep me cooler on long rides in summer heat. I passed up the dark red and black helmet that would have looked great with my bike in order to get the bright white color that would be more visible to motorists. It is lighter weight than the good Bell helmet I replaced, and the straps are lighter, more flexible material. Very pleased with this helmet.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

This is a cheap and simple way to add some safety to your climbing. I bought this originally to give my parents some peace of mind but after my girlfriend dropped a quickdraw on my noggin I was happy I had it. This is light enough and durable enough to take with you to any crag. Make sure you use it, I forget sometimes.

[ I began straying from mountain biking recently and got a Gravel bike. Wanted a lighter and more vented helmet and my Giro mtb helmet has always fit perfect and been so comfy. This is the same way! Consistent sizing, no hot- spots or areas where the cinch system pinches or stabs my head. And it is light enough and vented enough that on my first 2 hour ride I never once even thought about the helmet being on my head, and that is the best achievement of any performance product in my book!

I chose this because of the magenta/purple color and love it. While it's marketed as a youth helmet, it can fit a woman's head. I 'm a 5'4 '' adult woman, and my head size is 55- 56, so within the 50- 57 size. I tend to have a `` hot head, '' but the ventilation on this helmet is excellent, so my hair was n't wet after a 1- hour bike ride. It fits well, is super lightweight and comfortable, and the Roc- Loc fit system allows a perfect fit. My only scare was the Roc- Loc was fully tightened when shipped, so when I first tried it on I thought it was too small. Once we loosened it, it fit well, and then even better once tightened.

My partner and I went looking for a new bike helmet since she needed a new one. We did n't want one that was cheap, but we also did n't want a crazy expensive one. We wanted something in the middle that was still of good quality. We looked at multiple ones in the store and ended up settling on this one. [ Absolutely love this helmet. Tried hard to go with either the POC Tectal or Kortal prior to buying this one and I 'm so glad I did! It fits like a glove and I totally forget I 'm wearing it while riding. It's by far not as bulky as the POC helmets and it also feels at least subjectively lighter. Love the color schemes as well and can not praise the fit of this helmet enough. Sizing is spot on and the magnetic buckle is also a plus.

[ 2nd time buying. Great helmet. Low profile so doesn ’ t look like you have a garbage can on your head. Very comfortable. Only issue I took the inner liner out to wash and broke the mips plastic holding tabs. They don ’ t service them so I had to buy a new helmet. Keeping my old one for spare tabs in case it happens again. Also huge plus they sell replacement liners so you don ’ t have to throw it out when it gets nasty from sweat.
