This color wave is really cool with the red, white and navy in it and the feel of the padding is very comfortable. The chin strap is taking a little getting used to but the more we play with it the easier it gets, plus I think it ’s better that it ’s harder to get the strap off because to me that means it ’s not just going to randomly fall off when she ’s running bases.

It's sharp- looking and fits her needs. The most important part as far as I 'm concerned is the protection. The pads inside give her plenty of cushion and protection from impacts and the entire helmet seems to be very strong and sturdy. The face mask seems to do what it needs to do, it's nice becuase it's thin so it does n't get in the way but it's strong enough to stop that ball. The Capitan is my pick for the best compromise for overall helmets. Plenty light enough for almost anything, but has hard- shell durability. I chose this because of the magenta/purple color and love it. While it's marketed as a youth helmet, it can fit a woman's head. I 'm a 5' 4 '' adult woman, and my head size is 55- 56, so within the 50- 57 size. I tend to have a `` hot head, '' but the ventilation on this helmet is excellent, so my hair was n't wet after a 1- hour bike ride. It fits well, is super lightweight and comfortable, and the Roc- Loc fit system allows a perfect fit. My only scare was the Roc- Loc was fully tightened when shipped, so when I first tried it on I thought it was too small. Once we loosened it, it fit well, and then even better once tightened.

[ I began straying from mountain biking recently and got a Gravel bike. Wanted a lighter and more vented helmet and my Giro mtb helmet has always fit perfect and been so comfy. This is the same way! Consistent sizing, no hot- spots or areas where the cinch system pinches or stabs my head. And it is light enough and vented enough that on my first 2 hour ride I never once even thought about the helmet being on my head, and that is the best achievement of any performance product in my book!
