I 'll say the same thing about the adult helmets, but this get accolades for also being dual use as a bike helmet on the kids version. The Capitan is my pick for the best compromise for overall helmets. Plenty light enough for almost anything, but has hard- shell durability. The adjustment system works fine, although I 'd prefer a BOA style adjustment. Really a helmet that leaves nothing to complain about.

[ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology — Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

Now I needed a helmet for a Onewheel hoverboard I recently purchased and was pleased to notice that this helmet is completely convertible to a skate/BMX helmet. The insulation for cold environments was removable, I found 2 adjustment( 1 on each side) to make a tighter fit, even the clip in the back is removable. I 've owned 5 or 6 helmets for snowboard/BMX over the years and this is the best one.

It seems that any time I 've gone skiing this year the temps have been in the negatives( Fahrenheit) and evidently there's not a whole lot the helmet is protecting, since I forgot to wear my hat underneath it for a while, but it was a good hour before I was wondering why my ears were starting to get cold. The fit on this helmet is great. The `` contour fit '' helmets fits the shape of my head much better than the standard fit helmets. However, I previously had the Maze helmet, which so much lighter and had a `` less bulky '' feel. Finally, the goggle strap holder in the back gets stuck and it's hard to get your goggle on and off of the helmet. Overall, the helmet is a great buy. I think I will end up buying the Maze helmet in the contour fit.

[ Okay, I 'm in the `` This helmet fits great! '' camp. I 've read several reviews about bad fitment but I did not find that to be the case. The helmet has an expandable rib on either side of the helmet. When placing it on my head I squeezed the bottom ends/sides toward the base of my skull while tightening the adjustment dial on the back. At first it was a little too tight but in about five minutes or so it felt great and I never needed to adjust it again. I just skied five days straight in Aspen and the two days it snowed were pretty darn cold. The helmet kept my head both warm and dry and I never felt the need to take it off until lunch or the end of the day. I use Dragon goggles and there were no incompatibility issues at all.

If you 're looking for a basic matte black helmet, this is it. Purchased the S/M and it fits her head perfectly. Strapping the chin strap in place is a struggle though. Coach suggested leaving the chin strap on at all times and just stretching the strap out( when putting the helmet on. Much easier and quicker this way. The chin strap itself is just an elastic band though.
