I took it for one five- mile test ride, and I was totally satisfied. I am a two hundred pound, 59- year- old rider, and this bike was amazing in the bumps. My only complaint is that the brake cable was rubbing on the crank arm, but it was an easy fix with a zip tie to the chainstay tube near the bottom bracket.

Mongoose- a bicycle brand name growing up that would follow me the rest of my life. This is my first new bike purchase and I am so glad I went with the Grendel. From fast, safe shipping, to assembly, the entire process was incredibly smooth. Pretty straight forward putting it together, never having put a bicycle together in the past; quality is great and the ride is phenomenal. I did change out the tires but nonetheless the tires it came with are good. I find the price paid is fair and would definitely choose this Grendel again if given the choice.

This bike is really the best value for your money, given what is out there. Even so, there really needs to be some way to run a larger front chainring. I was able to get a 38T by pushing it out 2mm with spacers, but that is it. I 'm now trying to replace the rear cog with a 10t. Without a larger front chainring, you really just spin out. I suppose I 'm a strong rider, even in these rolling Texas hills. The groupset and suspension are amazing, though, except for this one flaw.

This is a perfect bike for our 6 year old. We were looking for something that he could use for a few years and since the seat will adjust up and down we are confident he can ride this for a few years. It was very easy to assemble- his 16 year old brother assembled it in about 30 minutes. It was packaged well and the instructions were clear.
