I use these leg straps with a cable machine. They have decent padding and have minimal pitch points. They are more comfortable over socks or pants but very usable even if your wearing shorts and no show socks.

The ankle support is an excellent for some of the lower body exercises you might want to do, however, S& H is riduculous( about$ 4),. And it is not available in the store so you have no choice but to order on- line- that is a definite drawback. Otherwise, an excellent choice!.
