Got this a month ago for Mora 6 ” hand auger. A little pricey but worth it. Used a couple times now with an old craftsman 19. 2 V cordless drill. Drilled a dozen holes thru 10 ” ice no problem. Bought it cause I liked the handle for grip and won ’ t lose it down the hole if it comes loose from the drill( read many reviews on other adapters where that happened). A heck of a lot lighter than pulling around my big gas auger, too.

Now that ice is over I can write a full season review. Cuts like a knife through butter and no issues at all. Left my gasser in storage all winter. I did have to buy an extension near the end as we were at the bottom and was easy to put on and drilled jyst as good as without. We also opened old holes, side by sides etc. and no issues there either. Totally impressed.

Lightweight, ice- eating machine. Using a Dewalt Flexvolt hammer drill w/6ah battery, drilled 72 holes in 21 '' ice w/o swapping out battery. I wish Eskimo made a tube for transport.

Great product. Drilled 100+ holes this season and still using original blades. Lightweight and durable. Getting the bit on the drill is sometimes hard with the guard so close to the chuck. Other than this small issue no complaints

Light, and cuts great! Keep your hole clean to save your drill.

I already owned an 8 '' k- drill( 7 5/8 '') and decided to try the Pistol bit based on a recommendation from a coworker. The cut is smoother and I get more holes out of a battery with similar ice conditions. Since the centering point was added I can make fish ponds as well for those ice derby days. Has been a great addition to my ice gear.
An auger bit for a cordless drill is primarily used for drilling holes in various materials, such as wood, ice, or soil. These bits are designed to efficiently remove material as they drill, making them ideal for tasks like creating holes for planting, fishing, or construction. Their spiral design allows for deeper penetration and faster drilling compared to standard drill bits.
Auger bits are commonly made from high-speed steel, carbon steel, or other durable materials that can withstand the rigors of drilling. Some bits may also feature coatings, such as titanium or black oxide, to enhance their durability and reduce friction. The choice of material can affect the bit's performance and longevity, especially when used in tough conditions.
Yes, there are various types of auger bits designed for specific applications, such as woodworking, ice fishing, or gardening. Each type may have unique features, such as different diameters, lengths, or spiral designs, tailored to the material being drilled. Understanding the specific requirements of your project can help you choose the right auger bit for optimal performance.
Choosing the right size auger bit involves considering the diameter and length needed for your specific project. It's important to match the bit size to the hole requirements, whether for planting, fishing, or other tasks. Additionally, ensure that the bit is compatible with your cordless drill's chuck size for a secure fit.
Auger bits for cordless drills can be used on a variety of surfaces, including wood, ice, and soil. However, the effectiveness may vary based on the material and the specific design of the auger bit. It's essential to select the appropriate bit type for the surface you intend to work on to achieve the best results.
