My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

[ This is a great pack for younger kids. It is our second one, we bought an ace 38 a few years ago for one of our other children. Knowing how well that pack worked out, we decided to get another one for one of our other children, one of the improvement of this version over the previous version is a hit belt pocket to put snacks into for easy accessibility while hiking.

[ I have only taken this out once to prepare for a longer trip. We hiked 6 miles. I had it packed with at least 20 lbs. It was WONDERFUL!!! Compared to the one I already own, this pack was so much more comfortable and light. It also has several nice pockets. I am excited to use it more!

[ Bought this bag before a 3 night backpacking trip with my husband. He has a bigger bag so could hold more than I could, but I found it to be the PERFECT size for a 3- night trip, assuming someone else is with you carrying the tent& other larger supplies. This held half of our food, my clothes, sandals, 2 water bottles, my camping mug, and other misc. emergency supplies( first aid kit, emergency blanket).

My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

Bought one in 2015. Used it for absolutely everything, usually climbing, and only after several canyoneering trips has it finally gotten so many holes it was time. Canyoneering destroys packs. Not the most UL. And that ’s good. Carries all things. Durable as F. I ’ m scared of new versions of favorite old gear- but oh my god the 2023 actually has loads of helpful improvements. 10/10.

The pack is lite& compact yet holds what I need for multiple adventures. In addition to ice climbing I can use it for day hikes/ trail runs and back country or alpine skiing with enough attach points to carry a pair of skis or miscellaneous gear when needed without excessively restricting mobility.

Huge fan of my new bag that has become the perfect single day ski touring bag. It ’s got just enough space for a single day movement and has plenty of attachment points for for whatever you need. Big fan!!

Much better and lighter than previous speed models. I like the fabric and it has a lot of straps for carrying bigger loads into the mountains and then stripping it down to a lighter climbing pack. I really like the top closure system. Could do away with the velcro for securing the lid, not needed.

[ Just returned from the BWCA with my Aether 65. This is a nice pack that worked well for a 4 day self supported journey deep in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Our trip included 5 portages with 3 having quite a bit of undulation. The pack was weighed down with 44lbs of gear and was comfortable( as much as 44lbs of gear can be, definitely dropping some weight on the next trip). I liked it because I typically start trips like this fresh and strong and have my pack set up to that posture with quick( on the fly) adjustments being made as I ’ m flagging from hiking and paddling for hours. Nice pack that is well thought out with all the features you need and none that are useless. Both of my sons were wearing the same pack with zero complaints. Nice product that ’s worth the investment.

Pack arrived in perfect new condition and the price was better than anywhere else. No break in of any kind required and my first trip with it was a 4day/3night 45mi trip. I had no complaints on fit and comfort. The fit on the fly adjustments, specifically the torso adjustment, were awesome. So easy to fine tune during that trip. My buddies also bought the same packs for the trip and also gave it high praises. Ca n't recommend this one enough

[ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The new Rook series packs 50 and 65 liter are well worth the price they retail for. If you are a well seasoned hiker or a beginner you ca n't go wrong with the Osprey Rook. I imagine the Women's Renn will preform as well.

Spent three months backpacking in Europe upon my retirement, at age 65, with this wonderful Osprey backpack! We traveled in all kinds of weather and used all modes of transportation! Also, have been backcountry camping in Canada, California, and Colorado! She still looks new after a busy 10 years on and off the trails! I am currently looking to downsize to a smaller Osprey backpack…walking the Camino in a few months! Only an Osprey works for me!!

[ Perfect size for a comfortable fit while backpacking! The front zippers that open to the main compartment are a great feature and very helpful to stay organized!! recommend this pack highly!!!

I 've had this pack since 2006. It's been on many adventures with me, from backpacking in Canyonlands to training hikes in Teluride to travel through Taiwan. For several years, I used this bag for grocery shopping and going to the laundry mat, when it was often 70 pounds. It's so comfortable that even fully loaded, I can easily dance while wearing it. This pack has survived bear attacks, rain storms, deserts, baggage handlers, and having its capacity tested endlessly. After 15 years, I 've noticed the first sign of wear- a small tear in a seam. I 'm happy with the longevity of the product, and I 'm heartened that I can send it to Osprey for a professional- level repair for just the cost of one- way shipping. The All Mighty Guarantee is one reason I 'm so loyal to Osprey- they did a fantastic job repairing bear damage, and they quickly sent me a set of replacement buckles after I damaged one of mine. I love how comfortable the hip belt and harness are, partly thanks to the high degree of adjustability. If it every gets lost or stolen, I will happily buy the same bag. I barely notice my bag while I 'm hiking, meanwhile my hiking buddies complain about how uncomfortable their similarly priced non- Osprey packs are, or say how happy they are to get them off. I do n't mind how the weight gets divided on group trips, because I know my pack can handle adding on the tent, carrying more than my share of food, and having a few liters of extra water. If you 're looking for a comfortable bag that you can use in a range of circumstances for decades to come, look no further than the Osprey Ariel.

[ Osprey is awesome. They stand behind their warranty. I had an Aether 70 that had zipper and buckle issues, with some major wear on the straps securing the hip belt. I sent it in; they looked at it, and declared it not worthy of repairing. They sent me an updated model of the backpack I love and recycled parts from my old backpack. What an awesome company!!!

[ The stock photo does the color no justice. Absolutely beautiful green in person. High quality all around. Lots of features. Very comfortable to wear, the extendable hip belt is a game changer for me. My last back had very little cushion and didn ’ t come forward far enough for the hips, and this is the opposite. Plenty of adjustment length to fit just about everyone. Very simple to adjust the pack fit to make it work for your body. Plenty of zippers and pockets to keep various things organized Have only taken a short hike with this one so far, but with a 40 pound load it felt great. My last pack had the AG system and it was great, but this feels even better. Still able to ventilate the back area. Looking forward to my trips this year, especially now that I have this.

Black Diamond's Speed Packs provide everything I need and appreciate in a trad pack without any unnecessary fluff 'n' stuff added. I 'm a tall man with a short torso, and the smaller size sits nicely, even while wearing a harness and climbing multipitch routes. The pack also carries a rope nicely, with five compression straps keeping it in place. While I have n't used this pack for skiing, I can strongly recommend it for all- day climbing adventures.

[ Have only taken this pack on one trek so far but it was great. Very comfortable and distributes weight nicely. I love how convient it is to access the inside of the pack with the front pouch. I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

This is a great pack. I am a big guy( 6 ’ 2 ”, 275) so I do wish I would have gone with the Stout 70 plus, but it is still a great pack. Sits on the back well with plenty of adjustments available. Took some time to get dialed in, but once I did, it was very comfortable.

Much more comfortable for larger guys. Looks to be of good quality. Will put it to the test with some long hikes this spring.

This is one of Gregory's basic packs, essentially a Baltoro with fewer bells and whistles. I needed a 70 liter pack for a 12 day Philmont Trek, and it survived 2 years of shakedown hikes, and 2 more years of `` regular '' weekend camping use. Works well, and great bang for the buck if you are patient and watch for sales.

Bought this pack for my husband for our upcoming first backpacking trip, because he is a big dude and the options for him were limited. As soon as he got this pack on, we were both so happy at the fit, the quality, the look, and just all the thought that went into this design. It was super nice being able to just buy a pack that actually fits, without having to worry about replacing the hip belt or shoulder pads. We have n't backpacked with it yet, but we have done some long day hikes with all our gear and it seems like a quality pack that will hold up well and we just could not be happier. Also love that it comes with a rain cover, the hip belt pockets are a very good size, and the brain is nice and roomy!

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

[ I bought this about a month ago and have done two backpacking trips, it is one of the best backpacks I 've owned so far. Osprey really has outdone themselves, especially with the front opening compartment. Easy access for everything and fits so many things in it as well. Easy to clean and the straps do n't hurt as bad as other brands.

[ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy- style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed- in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect- able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re- close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re- close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

Finally a large woman's specific pack! Thank you Osprey! I have been using men's or unisex packs my whole life until last year. What a difference specificity makes! This pack is so incredibly comfortable you do n't really know you have it on. I am certain I will be able to travel more distance without fatigue with this pack. Six pounds for the M/L may seem like a heavier pack, but the infrastructure and material is worth it. This pack will be my only pack for multi day trips! Thank you.

I have enjoyed using this pack for a couple proper backpacking trips and used it for city traveling. Plenty of storage, loads of adjustments for your comfort, nice design and materials and finally multiple ways to load the pack make this a great choice.

My girlfriend ordered the extended fit for me not because I 'm morbidly obese but because my shoulders are 3x the size of the normal person. I have a bodybuilder frame and she decided to give it a go. Just wow fits my shoulders perfectly with a lot of extra room if I decide to go on a McDonald's and deep fried Twinkie diet. I always get the heaviest bag because my girlfriend ca n't handle more than 25lbs. My bag was around 60lbs on a 3 day hike. Comfort all day and room to spare!

[ I purchased this after having a bad experience with a different pack of a different brand. I am 5 ’ 5 ” and weigh about 116 pounds. I am a bit short waisted too and I thought the pack fit my frame perfectly. No weird rubbing on my lower back after a 31 mile backpacking trip. Lots of space and convenient pockets. Super functional and can ’ t recommend enough!

I love osprey products and unfortunately found that most of their products do not fit XS torsos. However. The EJA is the exception. It fits through the shoulders and leaves plenty of room for tightening the hip belt. It ’s like wearing a hug. I did 3 10+mile days with this pack( 48l) and it was just the right size for my and my dog ’s needs. The ONLY complaint I have is that the shoulder padding could use reinforcements. I found the material shredding my shirt and leaving friction burns on my collarbones after day 2. I ended up shoving my extra sun shirt under the straps to widen the coverage on my shoulders. I could probably wear thicker shirts for winter trips, but summertime screams for tank tops and breathable materials that just didn ’ t do enough for comfort on that long of a trip. I will be using this pack again, but definitely looking into mods for the shoulder strap padding

[ This pack meets almost all my expectations and hopes! I love the suspension system the most. My pack feels like a hug! I appreciate the choice of removing the “ brain ” to save weight. The hip belt is comfortable. My only issue is with the shoulder straps. Over many hours on the trail, I notice that the straps do not sit completely comfortably around the front of my shoulders. That said, this is still my favorite pack out there!

[ I like this pack a lot- out of the packaging I feel like it was really stiff and side pockets were almost unusable but after a week of using could easily get water bottles in and out without taking pack off. Hip belt pockets are a nice size but definitely a design flaw with the zipper and they are a pain to open and close. Overall super comfy pack and durable.

I really love this pack. It's the second one I 've used as I 've only been backpacking for about 2 years. It is the perfect size to accommodate all of the things I need, but it's not so large that I over- pack. I 've used it on weekend trips on the PCT, a 5- day trip in the Sierras and on a 4- day Rim- to- Rim Grand Canyon hike. I could fit a small Bear Cannister in the pack and my tent was on the outside of the pack for the 5- day trip. I am more of a minimalist when it comes to what I put in my pack, so some people might need a larger pack for longer hikes. Sometimes the chest strap feels too high, so I would like a lower option for that, but I am 5' 4 '' '', so that might not be a problem for someone who is taller. I 've used the bladder reservoir as well and it works great. I have n't used it in the rain yet, but I do n't forsee any problems. When the pack is heavier( 30 lbs), I do feel soreness on my hips, but when I can keep it lighter( last trip 24 lbs) I have no soreness from using this pack. I also like that there are n't a lot of compartments so I 'm only looking in a few places if I do n't remember where I put something.

Used this pack to complete 120 miles and 38K vertical feet for the Annapurna Circuit high altitude trek through the Himalayas. It was my amazing constant companion. Living out of a backpack for multiple weeks will bring out the best and the worst and I can ’ t find a single complaint with the pack. I could nitpick a bit, sure, but I ’ ve never had a pack come even close to this one in thoughtful details, overall design, customized fit, and the big one- comfort! You ’ re never going to forget the weight is there, but this pack was so comfortable that during breaks I often just left it on. Wouldn ’ t consider going with another brand now. The lid doubling as a( actually robust) daypack was key! My friends were jealous of that feature. Amazing backpack and the Osprey system is just so top notch! Thanks, Osprey!!

[ For the average backpacker, the Aether Plus 60 is the epitome of backpacks. I think Osprey has really come up with a pack that does it all. This pack is not only a combination of the best features found in their other great packs, but an evolution of new innovative features, making this one hard to beat. My favorite features on the Aether Plus( also found on some other Osprey packs) are the removable lid that converts to a day pack, the Stow on the Go trekking pole holder system and the stretchable “ stuff pouch ” at the front of the pack. But specific to the Aether Plus, the complete access to the interior of the pack from the front and the additional two front vertical pockets make this pack extremely convenient. The straps on the side of the Aether Plus are contrasted in color compared to the nearby straps from the hood to make it easy for your eye to pick up the “ correct ” strap when securing everything. I don ’ t know why Osprey decided to switch the color scheme of the straps( light and dark) on this pack as compared to the Xenith, but the idea is the same; it makes it easy to discern what ’s what. These features married to the stable, yet comfortable and beautifully designed, adjustable nature of the suspension system, make it a pleasure to use on the trail. It even comes with its own rain cover in its own little bonus pouch! I love that pouch for its ability to also stow an ID wallet or next section ’s map, thin gloves, or other small items you may not use on a regular basis. There's lots of ways to strap an item to the outside of the pack if need be and the design of the shoulder straps make it easy to attach a shoulder pouch or a Go Pro type of camera, and of course, secure the hydration tube. The Axo Green color just looks like it belongs in the forest and the 60L size is perfect for most of my three season trips. There ’s no reason for me to look elsewhere. Certainly, if you need the room for colder temps, long excursions, or the need to pack a portion of someone else ’s gear, the Aether Plus has you covered with the 70, 85 and 100 L versions. Will this pack evolve? Of course. Just like everything. But you know how we ’ re always saying, “ they always discontinue the good stuff ”? I ’ m confident I won ’ t have to say that about my backpack, now that I have the Osprey Aether Plus 60.

So surprised there are no reviews on this exceptional pack. Bought this after doing a 32 mile trip using a new Patagonia Nine Trails 36 liter pack. My shoulders and hips were so sore I had to find something else that carried 32lbs better. On first 4 day trip I grew to appreciate the thought that went in to its design. The answer for my needs was the Aether Plus 60. After using something else first, ca n't stress enough how well this pack carries the same load. The beefy cushy shoulder straps and hip belt carry loads extremely well! Love how the top lid turns in to a great day pack and holds a 3 liter reservoir. The 2 extra pockets( Plus model) behind the shove- it pocket are perfect for an ultralight chair on one side and rain gear on the other so do n't have to take up room in main compartment or cram under the side compression straps. The large zipper pulls on all pockets are a great touch and much easier to open than anything else ever used. I absolutely love the easily detached DayLid! The 2 pockets on it keep you organized- can even turn the DayLid storage in to a 3rd pocket to cram more gear in if needed for more organization. The main compartment slider pull is a very clever design that lets user easily open it without any trouble. There are so many options for attaching bulky gear or putting stuff where you want that I still have n't fully explored yet after 1 trip. The lined hip belt pockets are well designed and provide ample room for headlamps, snacks on one side and use the other side as a storage compartment for a HydraPak Hydrant squeeze bulb. This pack is perfect for my needs and really do n't know how it could ever be any better or improved any further by Osprey. Yes it is expensive but for the quality you are getting, do n't know how one could do any better.

Bought this pack for a short backpacking trip on the Napali Coast. I have lower back pain so I needed a pack that distributed the weight very well. My pack was about 30- 35lbs and I made it the entire trip without any pain or even soreness in my low back. It was quite incredible considering the many elevation changes- I 'm definitely impressed. I will say that toward the end on our hike out my shoulders began to cramp up so I had to do some adjusting to the straps but I think it's just I did n't have it set right.

[ I bought this a month ago and took it on a backpacking trip in Oregon. The support, the adjustments, and the pockets everywhere made this such a great bag! I was able to carry twice the weight my husband was because the weight distribution was so good. The zippers are durable, so I could pack a lot of stuff without being too worried. I also was able to use the detachable day- pack for days in the city. I 'm an XS/S in this pack, and I brought it as a carry- on on two large airlines, which was an added bonus.

[ My new Kestrel 38 is a replacement for my old Kestrel 38, which I thoroughly wore out, trekking through the Himalayas, Andes, Pyrenees and here at home in the North Cascades. The pack fits perfectly and carries comfortably, not to mention how good looking it is.

I originally bought this pack to walk the Camino de Santiago France, 500 miles. But, it was too tall to use as a carry on bag on the airline. I did train with it and walked a lot of miles through mountains, etc.. Very comfortable and well designed. Everything functions well.

I ’ ve taken this backpack to two different 30 day trips. And I have been through every single situation, terrain( minus snow), 10+ flights( a few made made check in bag) camped, hiked, walked through beaches, visited hostels. Hours in airports and this backpack is A beast. I stuff the heck out of this bag. It packs like a 50L. The top most pocket is so big. Can fit a toiletry bag and more. Still looks new, quality is superb. Passport fits perfectly in hip pockets and snacks and earbud case. Very light and comfortable. My bag was roughly 25- 40 pounds at all times. Perfect for long trips( 10+ days)

[ Great pack. Solid construction. I love that my back does t hardly sweat like it does with other packs due to the construction of the back materials. I ’ m impressed with Osprey quality. This is my first pack from this company and it looks to be the best quality materials and feels solid. I think this pack will last me a long time on many different adventures.

[ I haven ’ t used it on a hike yet, but I must say I really like this pack. It seems to be toe perfect size for what I need. I did add some shock cord with cord locks to the top and front daisy chain loops. Just to add some quick storage if needed. It is very comfortable once adjusted to my torso size. I hope to get out on a wi get hike with it soon!

[ It's light enough for me to use for small loads and big enough for me to carry a few days worth of stuff as well. I like the access options to the main compartment so I can pack items in the most accommodating way with weight where I want it but not having to unpack just to access whatever is on the bottom. Osprey quality so the only precaution I take while it's getting moved out of my hands is fasten all the clips and tuck excess strap material. I appreciate the integrated rain cover more than I thought I would. I already do recommend the pack to buddies and I would buy it again.

First time Osprey customer and I purchased this based on size, looks and comfort. I used this pack on an overnight hike up a strenuous 6km up hill, through waist deep snow in places. It carried the 40- 50lbs well, the hip strap with the wire takes a lot of the weight off the shoulders. It has lots of adjustability and many pockets. I like the fact that you can unzip the front and access items in the bottom without having to unpack everything. Two side pockets that fit larger sized water bottles( Nalgene 1L) The SM/Med fits my 5'10 medium sized frame well. Osprey has gained a lifelong customer

[ Wow, just wow. Sold my 23 year old Gregory Denali Pro 105l& bought this pack. It's amazing. I love the toughness of the material and the choice of options it offers. Plenty of pockets, adjustable straps, etc to customize the load you plan on carrying. I plan on abusing this puppy all season long as I know it will stand up to it. Really excited to get out there!

[ I will say after my first time using this pack.... I love, love, love how you can access the main compartment with the front zipper. Days of pack explosions to find that one item is over!

[ I ’ ve only used it once on a day and a half over night hike. It was hot and dry so I was carrying extra water( started with 6 litters) I am wishing I would have spent the extra money and bought the Aether 55 or the Aether 60 plus. I have a larger Aether 70 plus that I find more comfortable or fits me better. I was looking for a smaller bag for short trips or wear I am not caring bulky cold weather gear.

I sleep more comfortably on this pad than I do on my own bed. Simply adjust air pressure to the perfect firmness and sweet dreams. Love it!!!- Josh De Vos

[ The company really kept their words. Lifetime warranty products. My Double V air pad had a leak. They sent me a replacement no question ask. Thank you sending me the new pad. I love the product light weight, comfortable and compact to travel with.

Great for car camping or canoe camping. I 'd want something lighter for hiking.

Starting with the specs it it very impressive. The quality of the sleeping pad feels great. Compared to similar models from competitors, this sleeping pad gives you higher quality materials than I felt I paid for. Very simple to use with a inlet and quick deflating outlet.. The storage bag also doubles as the inflator. For the thickness of the sleeping pad it is very comfortable. This is definately a great option for back packing, I 'm taking it to the Grand Canyon next month. 10/10 would recommend.

[ The wheeled pack works great as a carry on with alternative of using it with the backpack straps when back is available.

[ Does what it needs to do. A little awkward on the interior to make room for the shoulder straps, but the shoulder straps are a game changer once you pick up your checked luggage. The red interior is striking.

There are very few options for a carry on back pack and this one is just right! I use compression bags as well to really keep my things organized and fit into this so I have no need to check bags any longer. I also really appreciate the strap buckle attachments so I can attach another day pack on the front. Awesome and thank you for this pack!

Purchased from an Osprey dealer. Use for snowboard trips. Have 2 big gear bags to check in and switch to a roller after check in. I 've had a few backpack rollers and there needs to be an expectation you will lose a little volume with the backpack feature. Pros: lightweight, storage space is maximized, squared off, robustly built, backpack shoulder strap and belt comfortable and well built, sternum strap, like the frame, easy to roll and pull. There is no laptop sleeve, but look at that as a positive. Last backpack roller, laptop compartment consumed so much volume, had to cut it out. Took on a snowboard trip to Japan and worked great. After past roller backpacks, decided to pay for quality, researched a lot of these. I also bought the Farpoint Travel Daypack to piggy back on if I needed a more volume. Can piggy back or wear, clip onto your chest. Worked out great with my check in luggage overflow. Only con, which is minor, is maybe some external pockets to put small things or documents in. Still a bit fuzzy on the difference between the Farpoint( for men) versus the Fairview( for women) models.

[ I ’ ve admired my husband ’s nag if this same type for years. I finally bought my own and am super excited to to use it over holiday travel and abroad in the spring. It seems roomy and practical with lots of pockets and love the compression straps inside the bag. My husband has had his almost 9 years and it ’s held up well. Glad to have my own:)
