It is quite small, lightweight, and can be very helpful when you less expect it. It gets the job done as well as a prusik hitch to ascend on the rope, and looks at least three times nicer than a piece of cord. [ The Tribloc is a really nice rope grab. I am using it for as a midline attachment point for a pick off system with an Aztec pulley rig. It allows me to have a hard connection to the rope so that I can shorten a section with mechanical advantage and pull climbers out of gaps in a high ropes ladder. It ’s really well made and is a very firm rope grip. My only hesitation is that because the teeth are so aggressive I am a little concerned about repeated use on a rope causing the rope to weaken. [ I bought this rope about 7 years ago and am getting ready to retire it. It's been a great rope. It handles well and works great for top roping and sport( I 've taken it on trad climbs too, but just been the follower). It's a little thicker than lots of ropes out there now, but great for durability and an excellent beginner rope. It was stiff at first but after a few falls and uses it's great. This rope is a great price point compared with others. Petzl has great products. I 'd highly recommend this rope to anyone looking to get into climbing outside that needs a workhorse for all different kinds of climbing. It works with ATC and Grigri.

I was looking for a thicker rope to bring caving as we found a pretty large pit. This is very tough yet surprisingly supple and provides great friction. I felt plenty safe rapping on it, and the thickness also made cheating back up a pleasant experience.

[ Recently climbed the 3rd Flatiron and during one of three rappels, the rope got stuck. Thankfully had this ascender with and it made those pulls way easier. Great for ascending fixed lines as well, plus the black will be great to have when live events return for stealth mode.

[ I bought this( and a black one, L/R) for TRT/Search and Rescue. I got tired of using( fighting?) Purcell's for ascending a line. These are lightweight and I really do n't notice them on my already- overloaded rack. The mechanicals are solid and smooth, and they grab 10- 11mm rope just fine, slide up with ease, and do n't seem to cause undue wear. The size of the lower mounting hole gives me plenty of options for attaching foot loops, 2nd points of attachment to my harness, etc.

Great harness with a wide range of fit! I am on the larger size of humans, and this harness fits great! The waist cinches down from both sides of the harness vs only from one side like my previous harness. This makes the harness stay more centered on my body, and therefore more comfortable to climb in.

[ I bought this to replace a light rock climbing harness I had been using for home maintenance safety( tree and rooftop work). I have already used it for some tree climbing using a Petzl Zigzag combined with knee and foot ascenders and it did the job admirably for its price point( i. e. I 'm sure the SRT Harness would be more comfortable for hanging by a rope all day, for limiting hanging this harness was comfortable and secure enough and at less than half the price). It feels totally secure... no slipping, no binding, and I 'm able to adjust it for a great fit. Typical high- quality Petzl product. Worth every penny.

It was a great feeling to put all my new gear on a solid sling to hold it all.

Andrew S.
My daughter “ stole ” my rack and almost all my gear, and with it my pink padded gear sling from the bygone 80 ’s, punk, and Lycra days. Prefer trad pieces on a sling so I can move it around and scrum my hips in chimneys, corners, and wide cracks. This sling is just like the old one, highly adjustable, padded, and comfy. Though I ’ d gladly trade the purple padded for my trusty old pink.
5
james a.
Wow, you would think there is only so much you could say about a nylon runner sewn to a piece of foam but let me tell you BD has totally hit it out of the park with this one. 2023 is the year we bring back the padded sling, so beat the hype and get that gear off your harness before your friends. Only downside, picture shows a pretty dope purple but mine came blue… still neat!

This harness is comfortable for a full day in the alpine. I spent 16+ hours wearing this harness scrambling, alpine trad climbing, rappelling, and doing some sketchy snow crossings. While a bit heavier than some of the Petzl options it ’s 100% worth it for the comfort.
5

I bought this harness because I wanted a low weight, compact harness for mountain guiding and glacier travel. It worked perfectly and was super comfortable to wear while traversing the glacier even with my backpack on. Also, in general it is a really comfortable harness to wear for top rope and gym lead. I have n't used it for sport or trad yet, but I 'll update when I have.
5
I originally got this harness for ice climbing as it has 6 different ice tool clipper spots( on both sides, 12 total) of the waist. This allowed me to put my ice tool clippers exactly where I wanted them versus where they have to be on other harnesses. It is very lightweight with functional gear loops. I recently took it alpine climbing and it felt awesome having it on all day, even through the more scrambly areas of the climb. Would highly recommend especially for women that have a bigger chest or hips and need to put ice tool clippers in specific spots in order to see them. I have a Large which works great with winter layers but I could have also fit a medium. I am 5' 6 '' and 170 lbs.
5
Somehow this harness has less padding and is lighter weight than the Ophir slide or the black diamond momentum harness, but is actually more comfortable when sitting in it for a long time. I 'd highly recommend if you have a bit more money to throw in for a harness that you want to be lightweight and still comfy. Fits true to size.
5
Amazin harness which is surprisingly comfortable and does not consume any space in the backpack. I am using it for trad climbing. I climb with 14 cams, 12 slings, and three sets of nuts/tricams. I also carry cordlette, belay device and bunch of lockers. All these can be comfortably clipped to the harness. The front gear loops are bigger and the gear is easy to unclip/clip. I use the front gear loops for cams and draws. The rear loops I use for nuts, lockers and belay devices. The harness has also a small gear loop at the rear in the middle. I use this for the nut tool and sometimes the radio. The harness feels good on my body and I do n't even feel it while climbing. The only little thing I found is the seem in front without any padding pushing against my bones. I did not experience it with my previous harness ocun Ego. I have been using this device for a long while now and it is my go to for my regular gym sessions. I 've used it extensively for lead and found it's very easy to feed out slack and it locks reasonably well. Wo n't be quite as good as the gri- gri or pinch for falls but I have n't found that to be an issue.

Excellent device for lead belay. Very easy to use. After trying the Petzl NEOX a few times, I still prefer the 2. 0
5
James K
Device performs well, pays out clean and catches well skills with an ATC transfer well to this. If there is a large weight difference between the climber and belayer where the climber is the heavier it will be a bit jumpy when lowering in my experience. It takes a bit of learning to use this I would look up a video on how to operate it first. Overall a great cost effective alternative to a moving parts ABD.
5

This is the single best belay device I have ever used both for top rope and lead climbing. The simplicity is very nice along with the added benefit of not using so much energy to hold you climber.

I have used the black diamond pilot, edelrid juul, and the Mammut Smart for recreational and instructional use for indoor lead climbing. The Mammut Smart takes the cake! I 'm still using about a dozen of the original hot- wires I bought in the 90's. The gate action is as good as ever and I have never had 1 get sticky. Definitely overkill for someone just getting into the sport or someone who really only climbs in a gym, but a great to have for anyone who's going on some longer climbs

I used this as my belay device for multi- pitch climbs with a 9. 5mm rope, and it worked like a charm. So light I had to check it was still on my harness, yet the steel wear points are super durable. I would not recommend it for a gym climber, or someone who prefers thicker ropes. It is not designed for that use and does n't feed very smoothly with ropes +10mm.

Has been durable, light, and nice for guide mode and rappelling

[ This is the best ATC I 've used for smaller diameter alpine ropes. It breaks much better when catching lead falls on my 7. 9mm alpine ropes, does n't heat up the way traditional aluminum devices do on rappel, and is still pretty light, if that's something you care about.

Heat dispersion is great. Wo n't burn your hand off after a quick belay or rappel.

[ This is the perfect non- assisted braking device in my opinion. With steel inserts for rope wear and an all- aluminium construction I know it will last for a long, long time. It's a tuber device, so there's not much to say in terms of function. What makes it stand out is it's very burly build, yet it is still very light and affordable. I always bring at least one of these when climbing, and have a few in the reserves to always have some one hand. It works great in guide mode, and this is my go- to for belaying from the top and rappelling. Ca n't recommend it enough.
