As far as weights out in the market for young girls softball players there is n't much except for these Easton products. I first bought the 5 oz weight which was designed for speed and after 2 months I ordered the 10 oz which was designed for strength. Great product and easy to use. my son just started Pinto in the fall season( 8U& 7U) even though he's still technically 6 years old and wo n't be 7 until January. He is a little guy and a 26 or 27 '' bat is still too big and heavy for him. Even though this is labeled as a tee- ball bat, it's almost necessary to have him use this since it's the right size and swing weight. Plus the kids in Pinto are only throwing 25- 30mph grapefruits and I do n't think those balls would damage these bats. And if it did, these are so cheap, we can get him another one. For only$ 50+/- it's a no brainer if you have a small kid like mine. I would n't get the composite bats unless your kids are more advanced at hitting or are a little bigger. Like a kid who can swing a 28 '' or above.

We were given one of these bats to demo from a Rawlings representative through our travel baseball organization and I can say hands down it is the best bat I have ever swung. The bat was an inch longer than I usually swing and I was still able to swing it stronger faster and with more control than with any of the other bats I ’ ve owned. My bat of choice before the icon was a Cat 9 composite. The icon is a more balanced bat with far superior “ pop ”. The ball flies off the bat.

I bought this for my Son since he outgrew his old one. He went from using a drop- 10 to this- 3 and even though it ’s heavier he ’s been able to adjust to using it quite easily. I officiate ice hockey, and at 50 years old, that means I have sore muscles pretty much all the time from keeping up with high school aged kids. They seem to like to run into me, which is usually fine since I 'm 6' 4 ''/ 225 and a good skater, but I am sure I feel the contact a lot more the next day than they do, even if they hit the ice hard and I stayed on my skates. This ball is a great size to put in my ref bag to take to the rink or use while relaxing on the couch like a softer version of a foam roller. Since I normally dislike foam rollers because they 're too hard, this being softer is a big win for me. I have also started using it as part of light body- weight/ stretching exercises to help with mobility for hockey and golf. All in all, it's been a very good find.

I love the hit a way! It's great to strap up on a tree, basketball hoop or any other pole! Best to use a practice bat so you do n't wear out your bat, but it definitely helps your swing! If you leave it outside then it will wear after a season or two but thats the only drawback!
