After being an overly ambitious idiot and designing and making a custom stainless axle to use the 10x1 Ballz axle nuts to work with the ICTs non- threaded style thru axle, the dim 30 watt bulb in my head lazily buzzed to life, and all at once I realized, why not just use a standard Ballz 12mm thru axle and just tighten it down with the other Ballz end! I had it in my head that threading the thru axle into the frame like the rest of the world ’s thru axles was a requirement, not an option. So I ordered up the longest Ballz 12mm thru axle with the shortest thread pitch, stuck that sucker in there, cranked it down( within torque specs as measured with my calibrated arm), and off I rode into a less cloudy day than normal! So if you ’ re like me and looking for a “ solution ” to run a Coho behind an ICT, just grab one of the longest axles, slap it in, and ride away! Anybody need a set of 10x1 Ballz axle nuts or a chunk of 12mm stainless rod threaded at both ends? I gotchu.

Because of the Burley CoHo XC trailer, I park my vehicle during the warmer months and pedal everywhere. This trailer makes hauling big loads so convenient, and the tracking is outstanding! The CoHo XC is one of best investments I have ever made.

I ’ ve had double wheel trailers to pull kids, but when you just have cargo, the single wheel version is much easier to pull and navigate. Hooking onto the axle nuts is pretty straightforward, but there ’s a little bit of rattle, so wish it was a bit tighter fit. Pulling is pretty easy with an E bike even on low levels. Keep the heaviest items on the bottom of the trailer and ride on. I also have the cargo dry bag, and pannier dry bags which complements this trailer for multiple adventure purposes, or just going to the grocery store and having room for lots of food

Great, easy to use. Hitch is very sturdy. I had bought a used burley trailer and was able to use the tool online to figure out the model I bought and parts that would work with it. We were able to order this hitch and a few other accessories very easily. Everything works great and kids love that dad can pull them in a trailer now.

A bike trailer thru axle adapter is a device that allows you to connect a bike trailer to a bicycle that uses a thru axle system. This is important because many modern bikes, especially mountain and road bikes, utilize thru axles for added stability and security. The adapter ensures compatibility between the trailer and your bike's axle type, allowing for safe and efficient towing.
To determine if you need a thru axle adapter, check the type of axle your bike uses. If your bike has a thru axle instead of a quick-release skewer, you will likely need an adapter to attach a bike trailer. Additionally, consider the specifications of the trailer you intend to use, as they may require specific axle sizes or thread types for proper attachment.
Yes, there are various types of thru axle adapters designed to fit different axle sizes and thread specifications. These adapters are tailored to accommodate specific bike models and trailer systems, ensuring a secure fit. When selecting an adapter, it's essential to match the adapter's specifications with your bike's axle dimensions for optimal performance.
While a thru axle adapter allows for greater compatibility, it is still important to ensure that the adapter is suitable for your specific bike model and axle type. Some bikes may have unique geometries or axle configurations that could affect the fit and functionality of the trailer. Always verify compatibility before making a purchase to ensure a safe and effective towing experience.
When choosing a bike trailer thru axle adapter, consider features such as material durability, weight capacity, and ease of installation. Look for adapters made from high-quality materials that can withstand the stresses of towing. Additionally, some adapters may offer tool-free installation, which can be a convenient feature for quick setup and removal.
A properly fitted thru axle adapter enhances the performance of your bike trailer by providing a stable and secure connection between the bike and the trailer. This stability is crucial for smooth towing, especially on uneven terrain or during sharp turns. Using the correct adapter ensures that the trailer tracks well behind the bike, improving overall handling and safety during rides.
