I 've been playing tennis most of my life. Recently I 've had the hardest time finding court shoes that are comfy and do n't cause blisters. I usually can only tolerate a running shoe that is very cushy( but not a great court shoe). I even broke my toe playing because of how soft the running shoe is. This New Balance shoe is the first court shoe I been able to tolerate with minimal pain. It is very comfortable and stable. It also has great traction as the first time I wore this shoe, the court was wet.

I actually do not play pickleball. I am a long time tennis player and a long time fan of the FuelCell 996. This shoe has served me well for many years. Unfortunately in the last couple of versions the wide has gotten narrower and narrower. I thought I would try the 796 Pickleball since it was available in extra wide. I 've only played a few hours in the shoe, and so far they are comfortable and appear satisfactory for use on the tennis court.

[ I ’ ve been really happy with the FuelCell 796v5 pickleball shoes. Right out of the box, they felt lightweight but still supportive. The fit was true to size for me, with a snug( but not tight) feel through the midfoot and enough room in the toe box. On the court, they feel quick and stable. The cushioning has a nice bounce without being too soft, which makes it easier to push off and change direction quickly. I especially noticed this during lateral movements — I felt confident planting and cutting without sliding around. My feet don ’ t feel overly tired after a long day of play, and the shoes still feel supportive even after several wears. Overall, they strike a great balance between lightness, responsiveness, and durability.

As a true size 7, they fit perfectly. They provided comfort and balance and were very light on my feet. There was no uncomfortable rubbing either. They performed very well.
