I love the suit because of it's retro vibe but I strongly advise to order one size up. The inner lining and polyester make the suit feel stiff and it does not have that flexible lycra/nylon feel. It's a generally awkward fit all around- especially in the rear. I did n't buy these for laps, however, just general poolside stuff- so perhaps this suit was designed more for those purposes, I 'm unable to say. I do like the suit though overall.
