The new Frontier Ultralight Cook set is a brilliant redesign in the Sea to Summit line up. As an alpine climber, I obsess over both weight and space savings and this new cook set checks both boxes. I paired the cook set with a jet boil Mighty Moe and compared it to my `` go to '' MSR reactor kit with Sea to Summit cup and bowl. The Frontier Ultralight cook set weights in at 20 grams heavier than the MSR however, it provides 2 cups, 2 bowls, and a 2. 2 liters pot. It also seems to pack better in a rucksack which is critical when trying to jam everything into a smaller rucksack. The space and weight savings when considering two people, is definitely making this new cook set my `` go to '' for summer adventures!

Upon receiving the 6 piece Sea to Summit Frontier Cook Set – everything about it suggests top quality. The packaging is robust and signifies that high quality gear is within. I took set on a 3 day/2 night kayak camping trip I was leading for a group of 11 people. I shared the kit with the group to get their impressions as well. At less than 2 lbs( 1lb 13oz) this set offers a very high value for the weight being carried. Admittedly, this was a kayak camping trip, so weight is not that big of a factor, volume is more important. The set fit easily within my kayak. The new Click- Safe handle design is brilliant although some people seemed to struggle with it at first. It is actually really simple to use and really makes the pot feel like a one- piece pot – super sturdy. The 2L and 3L sizes give you plenty of flexibility to prepare just about anything in the wilderness. While the strainer lids are becoming standard on outdoor cookware, they are integral to the frontier lids and worked really well for draining pasta. The addition of the Sea to Summit Frontier Ultralight Pan would make this a comprehensive cook set. The pots cooked food nicely and seemed to have good heat distribution. I used the 3L to mix a cake mix that I was baking in a dutch oven and used a metal wisk to mix it. There were no marks at all on the inside of the pot – suggesting a very robust no- stick coating that will not scratch easily. The inclusion of two nice bowls and covered cups is really nice. We used both the bowls and the cups on this trip. Although very light, they are sturdy and were easy to hold with hot food in them. The spill proof lids on the cups are a nice feature and the cups did well for both morning coffee and evening wine. One comment/observation a number of people had( including the author) was that it would be nice if the set came in a bag( mesh or otherwise) to protect the outside of the 3L pot. The other comment I received from a few people is it was a little hard to see the graduation numbers inside the pot( maybe make them bigger for the next generation?). All in all, this is a fantastic set that will delight the outdoor chef. It is well thought out and the new Click- Safe handle design is a winner – really makes it feel like a solid one piece pot. A thought on a bag – maybe Sea to Summit could list the recommended Ultra- Sil or Big River dry bag size as part of the product description? Thanks again Sea to Summit for manufacturing well thought out, high quality gear!

[ My family has recently decided to get more into tent camping, and keeping things light is important. Since many of the meals would be made from freeze dried packages, there was little need to carry a heavy two- burner propane stove and fuel tanks. The JetBoil Stash model looked like just the thing to boil up a few cups of water to make a pouch of food. Not wanting to wait until we actually needed it, I gave it a few test runs under different conditions right at home. It is quick and easy to set up, and I ran into only one easy- to- remedy snag- getting the stabilizer leg assembly to snap onto my fuel canister. Where I live, there's not much selection in fuel, and mail ordering it comes at a high price. That meant getting Coleman brand was my only option within an hour's drive. The problem is that the stabilizer is just too hard to get onto the canister bottom without feeling like you 're going to break it. I have n't owned one of these before, so I do n't know how much variability there is between fuel brands. The good news is that a minute's application of a file fixed it!( See pictures). Once I got it all assembled, I was able to get 2 cups/500 ml of water boiling in about 2- 1/2 minutes or so on average. On really cold days or ones where it was very breezy, it was a little longer, but still really fast. One could easily boil water for and prepare several pouches of food within 10- 15 minutes, even if everyone had something different. I am very happy with my new stove!

[ I just LOVE this new Stash camping stove. It ’s the lightest and most compact in the market that I ’ ve been able to find and JETBOIL is a leader in this segment. It ’s easy to pack because it ’s so compact and light. I was able to boil two cups of water in about 2. 5 minutes. The pot sits on top of the stove very steady. They also sell a frying pan which is the next item I want to get. The flame comes out strong and the way the bottom of the pot is designed to keep in the flame/heat for maximum power. I was a little worried there was no wind guard for the flame, but it seemed to do well with a light wind( haven ’ t tested with a very strong wind but I would probably find some cover if needed. The stove component is made of titanium and is very light yet strong. Great design and quality.

Took this for its first spin up Wheeler Peak! Cooked breakfast at the trailhead and the Jetboil quickly had the water roiling and ready to pour! Made it up to Williams lake split and used this to make a quick cup of coffee before heading to summit. Again the water was ready to go in a minute or two. On my way down I made lunch. The Jetboil Flash performed perfectly all 3 times I used it in the 37 degree, 12k foot mountain environment. The Flash got tossed in my pack and I couldn ’ t even tell that it was there. For ease of use, weight, and boil time I ’ d highly recommend this!

[ I wasn ’ t expecting this to be so light! Even with all the pieces in the pot it is still really light. This doesn ’ t take long to heat up and it cooks pretty evenly from what I can tell. I only tried soup in it so far. It wasn ’ t hard for me to clean it afterwards because it was just soup. I do think other things will be tougher. The handle is a little hard to take off in my opinion. I ’ d worry about older people or people with fragile or weak hands being able to do it. Overall I ’ d recommend this.

I 've used the collapsible 1. 4L pot from Sea to Summit for a couple of years now and really enjoy how compact it is, so I was a little hesitant on the non- collapsibility of these pots. I was concerned about filling these pots up with items that might scratch the non- stick finish. They include a nice cloth that allows the smaller pot to nest into the larger pot and protect them from each other. I used that cloth and a bag to put my stove, fuel, all of my dishes, and utensils, plus my LED light strip into the 3L pot. It's all kept in nicely by the handle clicked over the lid. The 3L size was not as much of an issue as I thought it would be, just stuff more stuff into it! I have a large set of pots/ pans and the 3L size Frontier is easily the best volume/ weight ratio of any of them. Even including the handle in the weight. The non- stick is AWESOME and the bottom heats very evenly. I enjoyed cooking in this much more than my 1. 4L collapsible pot. The lid `` hook '' for placing the lid on the side of the pot is a nice feature... always hard to find a clean place for your lid! I also had no problem keeping the lid in place for draining pasta, nice solid lid fit on the pot. My only `` issue '' is the bottom of the pots has an `` indent ''. This is great for strength, but the diameter of the indent is slightly smaller than my optimus crux stove... so the pot is a little unstable/ off- kilter on the stove. Still 5 stars overall. This is a great pot set.

[ The pots are firstly well made and have a nice fit/ finish. I like the sizes as they provide good options. I feel like some others are either too large or too small. The handle is nice that it can be removed and it ’s easy to snap back on when needed. The nesting storage is always good as well. Only thing that could be lighter is possibly titanium but it ’s extremely light for the set and I don ’ t think that would be worth changing. One thing that could be nice is the handle interface being on the lid as well to snap into just to not be fighting steam with your hands but not a deal breaker. Good pot set and might end up getting another set here soon. Do recommend

[ First off why I gave four stars. The handle is too heavy for the small pot. When empty with handle attached the pot tips over. I use these with my overland set up so space is not an issue. The pots are well made and distribute heat evenly. Clean up is easy because of the non stick surface. I like how the pots nest into each other with the handles inverted also securing the lids. The microfiber towel in between the two pots is a nice touch to insure the pots don ’ t scratch themselves in transport. These replaced an old MSR cook set that I had for over 30 years. They were much bigger but too big for what I needed. I can cook for two people with the Sea to Summet set plenty of capacity. All in all very pleased.

Designed as a tea kettle, I use this a a fairly small cooking pot when I want to do more than boil water with my Jetboil. This is the v2 of the product with a stainless steel lid; v1 had a clear plastic lid that cracked over time by the stresses experienced while packed. I enjoy it for cooking most anything, esp soups and dishes with some liquid content.

You already know that as soon as it arrived on my doorstep, my husband and I brought out all of our camping supplies. [ The Zip 0. 8L is my new go to stove for most adventures! It is easy to use even without the directions since the labeling on the jetboil illustrates the proper usage. This is the first of the jetboil systems I have owned and I am very pleased with its functionality. I have been able to use it quite a bit this winter and it boiled water quickly even in negative Fahrenheit conditions and higher elevations( tested around 10000 ft). Changing the amount of heat is smooth with the dial and it is seamless to ignite. My favorite part is the lid that makes it effortless to pour hot water out and the additional holes if you need to control the water you drain out. The system is also very easy to clean and pack. I plan to use it not only for ski/snowshoe days but also on my next camping trip to Norway since it's so small and easy to pack. Jetboil gave me this free product to try.

After using it on several long- distance bikepacking trips, I can confidently say that this stove is a game- changer. First off, the lightweight design is perfect for bikepacking. It's small and packs down easily, fitting into my gear without taking up much space. It is super light, it wo n't weigh you down, which is essential when you 're trying to keep your gear minimal and efficient on the trail. The boil time is impressive for such a compact system. I can bring water to a boil in about 2 minutes, which is fast enough for a quick morning coffee or preparing a meal after a long day of riding. It saves me time and energy, so I can get back on the trail sooner. I also love how fuel- efficient the Zip is, especially since bikepacking often means you need to carry enough fuel for several days. The stove's FluxRing technology ensures an even boil while using less fuel, so I can stretch my fuel canister further- saving both weight and space in my panniers. [ I have used the older versions of the jetboil, and they have streamlined a few things. For instance the regulator knob is indicated with a+ and- diagram. This may seem trivial but I frequently try and turn up the flame and turn off the gas. Not that big of a deal but I instantly noticed this and now always know which way to adjust the volume. Great product!!

I have not used the one that I ordered as of yet. I bought this because a buddy of mine has it and have used it a few times and it is great. Much lighter than my old setup and is much faster, meaning less fuel. I do n't mind that it does n't have an igniter, I tend to just throw a mini Bic in the cup and leave it there, not to mention I always have another lighter with me for emergencies.

[ I wish I could give this Sea to Summit Frontier Cutlery Set more than 5 stars because it is exceptionally designed and made. First, it is incredibly light and would make a convenient addition to any camping pack. I could barely notice the weight at all, which makes a huge difference when you have so much to carry. Second, the design of this cutlery is brilliant. It is very thin and stackable so it takes up a very small amount of space. It also comes with a carabiner so that all the pieces stay together and you can hang it from your pack. This is such a nice bonus and still adds very little weight. Third, I love that this is made with durable aluminum so that it is strong enough for the toughest of hiking trips, but is still light. The edges are smooth and it ’s very tough. Overall, this cutler set is sleek and easy to use. The design team really thought of everything with this one and I ’ ve already bought another set for my boyfriend. We are excited for our next hike and to keep using this cool new product. Highly recommend!!!

Buying the base camp was a huge upgrade from my older green two burner stove. The regulator is fantastic and allows you to really dial in either a very low heat to simmer with our worrying about the flame going out. The ignition system is fast and reliable.

The temperature is super adjustable and easy to control so you aren ’ t scorching things or waiting ages for them to get done. Really enjoy cooking on this portable stove, I am tempted to now buy the Luna Satellite boiler for Jetboil Cup so I can make a single pan breakfast and coffee all off of one propane tank connection. Easy to collapse into one portable package with the pan attached and then the propane tubing sits nicely inside the Zipper Pouch that is included. The pan gets warm/hot fairly quick which makes it efficient and an first choice for camping or traveling meals.

Decided on half gen with satellite burner so I could cook meals and keep my dedicated water boiler. Excellent quality, function and design.

So after forgetting the car camping stove again we decided to get a stove that would fit in the downsized camping cooking box that one can actually carry by themselves. The half gen was a perfect fit and we could fit our plates in the bag that comes with it. The only thing I wish it had was a lid for the pan which I would pay for. The wind screen was a little awkward getting on at first but it works at least in 20- 30 MPH gusts. Construction is solid, the lighter works and due to the shape there is no cooking splatters to deal with on the stove itself. The gas control is good too. Yes it was not cheap but a great size and it works well.

This is a great skillet set for home or camp use. You can use the pans individually or combine them for dutch oven cooking. Also can be used on the stove top, or in the oven. I have made fried chicken, deep dish pizzas, cornbread, apple pie, frittatas, stir fry and breads in this set so far. I have used these almost daily, and have since purchased a few other sized lodge skillets. You have to cook with a lower heat than your traditional non- stick pan and have to use a bit more oil, but the more you use it the more it becomes seasoned and acts more like a non- stick pan. Patience is key with these. The handles do get hot, so pick up a set of handle mitts that lodge makes.
