Also worked great as a pillow to reduce pack weight. ... The thing I like most about this dry bag is that two of the straps now have clips on them, which makes it a lot easier to use than the version of this bag I got 10+ years

I took this bag out on a 15 mile trek with new people to hiking. I showed them the importance of a good quality dry bag, as it started to rain! They watched me stuff the next days breakfast along with some personal items in the Evac bag. Worked well keeping the items inside dry. We had no issues. A couple asked me where to go to get one and I said Sea to Summit.

This is a great product for just about any sport that involves any sort of water. This spends most of the winter on my snowmobile keeping backup layers dry, and has held up really well. These ca n't get wet extra layers are essential in the backcountry, but I never have to worry about that with this bag. In the summer this transitions onto my bike and can take the wear and tear of being strapped on externally. I had an older version of these bags, but the new one is easier to use and more streamlined. The compression feature is well worth the( minimal) additional weight as it takes up way less space and gives you more options to strap the bags onto other things.

13L is the perfect size for my 20 degree down sleeping bag. It ’s critical to keep down dry and having the compression straps turn a full size down bag into the size of a small basketball which frees up lots of space in my backpack for other items. I have an older version of this bag that still works well but the new quick release buckles on this model make it easier to use. Note that you do need to be patient for the eVent to work. It ’s a dry bag so water can ’ t get in but air can escape with compression out of the eVent fabric. Pro tip: roll the top closed once and add pressure to get out a lot of the air, then add two more rolls and clip closed. Pull the bottom over the top and using constant pressure keep cinching the straps alternating sides for and even compression. Another quality piece of gear by Sea to Summit. Two thumbs up.

5 Mark M.
I 've been using compression dry bags for roughly 20 years and sea to summit has one of the best products available. Their dry bags are durable, effective, and reliable. If moisture is a factor, I will always bring this dry bag.

I have been using the EVX 13 L dry bag when paddling, climbing, camping and bikepacking. This bag is amazing! It is light, tough and above all keeps the weather out. I took this out on a multi- day bikepacking trip which turned into a multi- day snow and rain event. I stored my down jacket and other `` need to stay dry so you do n't cry '' items in it( down jacket/pants). Everything stayed perfectly dry. The compression straps allow me to get my gear into small areas in my bike bags without compromising the integrity of my gear. The compression straps worked super smooth, no twisting or locking up. I travel to remote locations, most of the time solo( unless guiding). I need to know that I can count on my gear to keep me in the backcountry as long as I want and not have to leave due to equipment failure or poor design. The EVAC bag is amazing. I am going to purchase more and I highly recommend it to anyone that spends time exploring, or traveling in areas you know the weather will test and punish the your gear.

We hiked through a river. Each of used a bag in our packs. I fell in 3x and nothing in my bag got wet so I would say it worked very well.

5 CatBo
I bought these for a backpacking trip to use as a stuff sack for my down sleeping bag. The large one is great for that and for hanging your cooking clothes in bear country. We got some light rain and it held up to that. I use the smaller ones for my puffy coat and as a leakproof bag for toiletries.

5 Kid Colt
Used these bags as a little extra added security for electronics that were `` water resistant '' for a recent hike of the Inca Trail. If you 're looking for waterproof or something that could be completely submerged, I would spend the money and buy a higher grade bag. You ca n't beat the price for what I use them for.

5 JennMoll
I bought these for my son to bring to Scout camp& I ’ m very glad I did. He packed all the wet things in these and they worked perfectly. The rest of the stuff in his pack stayed dry. Before that he also used them to keep extra socks dry on a very rainy day. He said they worked perfectly. We ’ ll be bringing them on our trips to the beach, too.

I have used a lot of different shapes and sizes of the Bill's Bag over the years. The 65 is my favorite size for summer time, inflatable kayaking, or going light on the cat boat. I have had some failure with the plastic buckles in the past, mostly human error by smashing them in the frame or tail gate by accident. I was excited to use the new metal fastening system. They worked really well, except in the cold weather with cold hands. It is a little harder to fit the metal hook through the webbing. I see it as a trade off for a super secure system. The material is also super solid and dry.

Frequently Asked Questions For Compression Dry Bags

Compression dry bags are designed to keep your gear dry while also reducing the volume of your packed items. This is particularly useful for outdoor activities like camping, kayaking, or hiking, where space is limited. By compressing your belongings, you can maximize storage efficiency and ensure that your items remain protected from moisture and the elements.

Compression dry bags are typically made from durable, waterproof materials such as nylon or polyester, often featuring a polyurethane coating. These materials are designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions while providing a reliable barrier against water. Additionally, many dry bags include reinforced seams and closures to enhance their durability and waterproof capabilities.

Choosing the right size compression dry bag depends on the amount and type of gear you plan to store. Consider the volume of your items and how compact you want them to be. It's often helpful to select a bag that allows for some extra space to accommodate additional gear or to ensure easy packing and unpacking.

Yes, compression dry bags are versatile and can be used for a variety of activities beyond water sports. They are ideal for camping, hiking, traveling, and even for organizing items at home. Their ability to compress items and keep them dry makes them useful in any situation where space and protection from moisture are priorities.
