Many are great but I find the smart wool brand to have a softer hand, so they are comfortable to wear, and they take a beating and keep going. I have been a die hard Darn Tough sock girl for years now, but since trying Smart Wool in the last 2 years, they ’ re now tied for my favorite socks! On the sizing scale, they might even have a little bit of an edge over my Darn Toughs, since the Smart Wool socks don ’ t shrink when I wash them. I have yet to do the smell test on this specific pair, but merino wool usually doesn ’ t get stinky!
