I 've been using wool socks almost exclusively for over a decade now. I 've experimented with a lot of different brands and even some yak and camel wool socks. For my money, Smartwool seems to be the winner and these targeted cushion crew socks specifically are the best I 've ever used in hotter weather. I like the lifetime warranty of a couple of other brands, but they are more restricting in the toes and my feet feel more damp in them. These just feel soft and non restrictive. I use barefoot style shoes for about everything and the natural foot shape allowing the toes to splay is great, but only if your socks allow your toes to do it too. These allow for that and are much easier to put on than toe socks. They also seem reasonably durable. I 'll be buying more!

I have been a die hard Darn Tough sock girl for years now, but since trying Smart Wool in the last 2 years, they ’ re now tied for my favorite socks! On the sizing scale, they might even have a little bit of an edge over my Darn Toughs, since the Smart Wool socks don ’ t shrink when I wash them. I have yet to do the smell test on this specific pair, but merino wool usually doesn ’ t get stinky!

[ From backpacking in the Grand Canyon, Oklahoma, and hiking in Zion and elsewhere, I have found Darn Tough light cushion socks to be perfect for my needs. My Zamberlan boots do n't have a lot of room. These socks have just the right amount of cushioning. Thus far, my feet do n't slip around. I have had no problems with hot spots or blister. I usually wear OR gaiters so I ca n't show you a pic of the socks, but I can show you a pic of the boots we wore in the Grand Canyon with these socks(-= Oh, they also have a lifetime warranty on their socks!

[ I wear these things multiple times in a row. They hold up well and do n't start to smell until maybe the 3rd day or so. And that's even after hiking through muddy trails with soggy feet. They do get a little stiff after sun- drying. I also dried them out by hanging them about 1. 3 ft. from a small fire once. No damage! I do n't necessarily recommend trying that, but now you know.

[ Ca n't say enough about these socks. They are as soft and comfortable as cam be, have a ton of cushion, yet remain climate controlled, keeping your feet in a well maintained state even if you have to wear boots all day. Resistant to smell, merino is truly king when it comes to socks.

Smartwool has long been a favorite sock brand of mine. Their socks are durable( lasting years of frequent use), feel great( high quality material), and keep my feet comfortable. These running socks are no exception. The style is such that these socks do not fall down during runs and I can even wear them with high top converse without any slippage. Further, the fit and level of padding is perfect, providing a nice cushion for daily wear without and without shoes.
