This reel was purchased for use on an ice fishing rod. It was purchased too late in the season to be tested but I have over 40 years experience with Daiwa Reels and Rods so there is little doubt it will live up to the Daiwa repuration. It is very smooth reeling and fits and feels perfect on the Berkley ice rod.

Used to have the last model of 10k Saragosa SW. Was too big to cast or hold all day, so sold it and recently bought the 6k Saragosa SW A. Love it. Smooth and light and casts well. That said the 6k has limited line capacity. Fishing for pelagic species off the kayak in SE Florida the 8k or 10k makes more sense so may buy one for next trip down. Hard to find at local stores so online seems like the only way to get one.
