I bought this on a whim just to see if my puppy would even consider swimming with my family, and let me just say it was a success. I have a miniature poodle about 12- 13 pounds and he was a little nervous at first and all it took was a bit of encouragement and he jumped right in. He swam for maybe and hour and an half and he was so upset when I told him it ’s time to dry off. He was soon playing lifeguard and attempted to save us all when we were diving underwater. The vest itself is well made and I like the additional neck and stomach support it has.

[ I 've tried several different brands of life vests for dogs, and while this is pricey, it's the best there is. It's sleek, streamlined, unencumbering, making movement for my dogs as uninhibited it can be. I love that the bottom is well fitted, no loose straps( straps are securely velcroed) no loose flaps that just drags in water. It's just well made and well designed.

I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. The 6 straps allow proper fit no matter where the space is needed. Another plus to the Outfitter Universal is it's easy to get the paddler some ventilation on hot days. The jacket rides well on the body allowing for day long comfortable paddling. We can buy any pfd and continue to use 150 of the Outfitter Universal. Hope you check them out.
