I it's lightweight and super cute! ... And if they are swimming with this vest on, it seems very buoyant and keeps them upright. ... He is slender so it was able to adjust to his tall body

This vest is comfortable for my kids to wear all day on the boat. They have good range of movement and are still able to fish. And if they are swimming with this vest on, it seems very buoyant and keeps them upright. Some vests tend to make the kids lean forward with face towards water.

I run a busy rental outfit. Our guests come in all shapes and sizes. The Outfitter Universal is our go to pfd. It fits pretty much all adults the big ones down to the 125 pounders. The 6 adjustable straps are long enabling us to fit the bigger guests and they cinch down to smaller chests( 125 pound). One of the great uses of the 6 adjustable straps is our guest bodies often are not the athletic types. Some are big up top, some big in the middle and some are big down lower. The 6 straps allow proper fit no matter where the space is needed. Another plus to the Outfitter Universal is it's easy to get the paddler some ventilation on hot days. The jacket rides well on the body allowing for day long comfortable paddling. We can buy any pfd and continue to use 150 of the Outfitter Universal. Hope you check them out. Oh, and, for the private boat owner that has a variety of people using their boat this is a great choice for pfd as they will fit most all of them properly meaning they are more likely to wear it. You have the confidence that if they do go for a swim they will be floating properly. Cheers, River of Golden Dreams, Whistler BC Canada

[ I bought 2 of these for my kids( 8 yr old@ 53 lbs and 10 yr old@ 80 lbs). The PFD fits the 10 year old very well. The 8 year old was on the low end of the range and rides up as he is paddling, but he 'll grow into it soon enough.

[ I bought this a few months ago and have been using it for PNW daysails and rows. It works as expected, materials have held up and looks pretty great. I prefer it over the stohlquist edge because it's center- zip, has two pockets so I can keep the phone in one and the keys in the other and avoid scratches, and is a bit more streamlined on the figure. The only minor negative is the handwarmers pockets are tight for my bigger hands when I have items in the pocket, but still appreciated.

[ This is a great PFD. Very comfortable. I really like how adjustable it is to get just the right fit. Barely notice it is on most of the time. And never thought I would care about having the fleece lined pockets, but now I am not sure what I did with my hands out of the boat before them.

[ Firstly, this vest meets all safety requirements for using on open water, which is important when we are boating, tubing, and jet skiing on the lake. Secondly, the quick dry material is great but the softness of the vest was an awesome surprise. Blue and white camo color looks sharp.

This is the same PFD used and strongly endorsed by a local west coast kayak shop. It was ordered on line 8- 29- 15, given an ETA 9- 4 to 9- 11, and received at rural Post Office 9- 5- 15( the free shipping on orders over$ 25. 00 was a bonus). Sizing( L/XL) is good and very adjustable. Flotation support is excellent for 215 pound male. Straps, buckles, zipper are sturdy and lock up. Design is quite comfortable with no choking or chafing over 3. 5 hour paddle. The Charcoal/Kiwi was ordered which is not only quite visible, but also smart looking for those paddlers with an interest in style. Of course life saving flotation support is the primary consideration, followed by paddling comfort. This PFD is excellent in both categories. On line ordering, email follow ups, shipment tracking, and package invoicing were all excellent.

Marla taking my life back
I have been nervous about buying a life vest because I do n't know what size I needed. I asked one of your employees he was working in the bicycle section. He ended up being the right guy to ask for help with the life vest. He used to work for the coast guard. He told me I picked the right vest for what I wanted it for and it was the right fit. I love the colors and the fit of this life vest.

Kayak25
I really like the open sides to help keep me cooler. I also like the zippered pockets. Many paddling vests do not have this feature.

As an avid dragon boat and outrigger canoe paddler, safety is important. It came to my attention my prior PFD was too large to be effective in case of emergency. I found not one, but three different XS vests to choose from, and went with the mid- priced Onyx Airspan Breeze. It's perfect! An added bonus is the pockets are actually usable! I had expected them to be too small, but they are more than roomy enough for keys, wallet, small phone, etc., which I slip in after bagging in plastic, just to be sure they stay dry. Overall, I 'm VERY HAPPY with this purchase and highly recommend this vest, especially if you are looking for one that comes in a size that is safe and effective for those of us smaller in stature( 5' tall& 95 lbs). Well done, Onyx!

[ This is far and away the most comfortable pfd I 've had! As a kayaker I specifically wanted a paddling jacket for freedom of movement, but I found that most are `` universal '' which are possibly fine for boxy bodies but if you 're a woman with curves they simply do n't work. This life jacket fits like a dream, is extremely comfortable and even has little pluses like chest pockets and lots of adjustment points for your perfect fit. I 've been using this life jacket for several months now and I absolutely love it!

Also, I was given a helpful hint that the vest is the same size if it is a small or a Extra large. Only difference is the length of the straps. [ After looking into multiple other brands as well as the super popular NRS Chinook, I came across their brand new Raku model. It ’s thin backed instead of the traditional high pillow back cushion that may interfere with the very high back seats on some kayaks such as the Hobie Pro Angler series. Overall the quality is superb, fit is great, and the added pockets make keeping my phone, keys, and wallet secure while I ’ m on the water. I went with the high vis orange due to me being a kayak fisherman and it really stands out while I ’ m on the water to other boaters. NRS makes a quality product and one you can count on with your life in this case. The difference in the sizing is purely based on the length of the straps. Their is no added flotation or change in the padding. I have a 38 ” chest and the XS- M fits great.

[ I bought this for use canoeing. There are not many reviews by canoe users so it was challenging to find info. This fits great and I like the thin back for use with my canoe seat.

Easily a 5 star product. Do n't skimp out on safety especially in open water, your life is irreplaceable. Have fun and float on!!

Eagle Guy
I bought this for a 60ish mile canoe trip some 20 or so of my friends and I do every year. I 've never taken a PFD on this trip in previous years because it's typically low water. But we had gotten a boatload( see what I did there) of rain and the water was raging so I thought I should pick one up in a hurry. This was a rush buy, but it turned out to be far more comfortable than I had imagined. I hardly noticed I was wearing it even after having it on for 10+ hours a day. The pockets make it very convenient to have smaller items readily accessible on my chest. Unfortunately, on day 3 during a moderate rescue, I left the jacket on the river bank and finished the trip without it. And although this would n't be my first choice for white water, I will still buy another one because I liked it so much.

fanfare123
I have n't been in the water with it yet, but it fit well( I ordered a Large, I 'm 5' 10 '' tall and weigh 150 lbs) and felt comfortable. I intend to mostly use it for fishing from a fishing float tube or standing in water fly fishing wearing chest waders and it 'll work great for those purposes. Found the zipper to be a little bit difficult to get started( the padding down at the bottom obstructs the zipper a little bit but it works OK once you get it started. Nice pockets, but as a fisherman I could always use more!). Neither of those issues made me rate it below five stars. I looked around on other sites and this was the best PFD I could find after doing some research.

The vest fits nice and snug but not too much and does n't rise up to squish under his face. ... The buckles are adjustable and are easy to open and close. ... You can adjust the straps to make the vest fit

[ I got the vest for my 6 Year daughter. She weighs 60lbs now and the vest fits her perfectly. It ’s very well made, fabric is bit thin but colors make it stand out. You can adjust the straps to make the vest fit better. At first it was a bit hard to adjust the straps but once it is loose it ’s no problem. My daughter seemed to be pretty comfortable in it and wore it all the time while in pool. Definitely a great item to have when boating, swimming in the open water or pools.

[ The aqua youth vest ocean 7 type 3 is the perfect children's life vest. The day my daughter got it she was wearing it around the house saying how happy she was she got it so you know it looks good. Functionally it works extremely well. We are very happy with this product.

[ I really like this youth life vest and so does my son. It looks really nice, and fits him good. Most importantly it functions great as well! He says it is comfortable and doesn ’ t complain about wearing it which just makes it that much easier on me. I would definitely recommend it!

[ With summer here and going to the beach, lake and pools a good life vest is a must. This one is great quality and seems like it will last a very long time as long as it ’s taken care of and properly stored. It fits really good and the straps are very easy to adjust. When I ’ m the water this one stays put like it should and keeps your little one afloat. I love the color because it makes spotting it very easy.

[ We recently bought a home with a pool. Safety was first on my mind with little kiddos around the pool, especially my toddler. This life jacket gives me piece of mind. It fit her snuggly. You can adjust the straps to ensure it fits properly. She thinks she ’s the coolest baby around when wearing it! Even I let go of her in the water to see how she would float, it kept her upright and her face away from the water. The life jacket bobs right up when submerged in the water. A must buy for your kiddo ’s safety around the water!!

I 've been using this life jacket for the last 2 years. Really love the storage space for all your gear such as phone, emergency whistle, ChapStick, Keys, Air pods etc. also plenty of rings to attach phone tether, motor kill switch. Super comfortable for all day use.

If you are looking for a great PFD, then look no further than the Lure Angler 2 PFD from Old Town. This PFD is very comfortable to wear and has all the characteristics one would want from a vest style PFD. The pockets are large enough to hold a larger cell phone and there is plenty of places to keep your important gear( Whistle, Clippers, etc..) close at hand.
5
Ive utilized the Lure Angler 2 PFD for the last 4 years. It has plenty of storage for quick access gear IE hooks, weights, phone etc. It is light weight, breathable and has plenty of adjustment for any size angler. The design allows for comfortable seating while on Old Town kayaks. I would recommend this PFD to any angler.

When selecting a canoeing life vest, consider factors such as fit, buoyancy, and comfort. A properly fitting vest should allow for freedom of movement while providing adequate flotation. Look for vests made from durable materials that can withstand water exposure and potential wear and tear. Additionally, features like adjustable straps and pockets can enhance usability during your canoeing adventures.
Yes, there are different types of canoeing life vests designed for specific activities and user needs. Some vests are tailored for recreational paddling, while others may be optimized for more intense water sports or rescue situations. It’s important to choose a vest that aligns with your intended use, ensuring it offers the right level of buoyancy and comfort for your activities.
To find the right size for a canoeing life vest, measure your chest circumference and refer to the sizing chart provided by the manufacturer. Vests typically come in various sizes to accommodate different body types, and a snug fit is essential for safety. Additionally, ensure that the vest allows for movement without being too loose, as this can affect its effectiveness in the water.
Canoeing life vests are typically made from a combination of foam and durable fabrics such as nylon or polyester. The foam provides buoyancy, while the outer fabric offers protection against abrasion and water. Some vests may also feature breathable mesh panels for added comfort during warm weather. It's important to choose a vest made from high-quality materials to ensure longevity and performance.
Yes, many canoeing life vests are versatile and can be used for various water activities, such as kayaking, paddleboarding, or fishing. However, it's essential to check the vest's specifications to ensure it meets safety standards for the specific activity you plan to engage in. A well-designed life vest will provide the necessary buoyancy and comfort across different water sports.
