They do n't have the compression that most of our other running socks, however, the comfort is through the roof. Cushion is perfect without making the sock too thick. The fit is great overall, maybe a tiny bit large but nothing to complain about as the XL is intended to cover a range of foot sizes. I have narrow feet, which is why I wear Nikes, but these help fill out that last bit of a shoe without being heavy or bulky somehow.
