Just purchased these waders, and they appear very well made and rugged. I certainly hope they 're not discontinued( it almost seems that way when I read the Frogg Toggs lineup, ever since the introduction of the Hellbenders anyway) because I want to recommend them to numerous friends. They 're built so much better than the economy waders I 've been using( which after a season or so developed leaks I could n't find, and no amount of shoe goo would keep me from having a legful of water and two soggy socks, every trip). I try to be easy on gear and I fully expect to use these fine Sierran waders for many, many years. I have yet to get them into the water but if they leak there's a full- year warranty. They 're REALLY well made. I 'm just under 6' 1 '' and about 188 pounds, and the `` LARGE '' are perfect for me.( Other afffordable waders need XL for me but these are pretty true to size-- they still have room for a fleece jacket and other warm clothing, too.)

First pair of breathable waders, was hesitate buying these as I had n't heard of Frogg Togg. Ive had other brand name waders but Im extremely satisfied with these, very durable. I had to hike through some rugged territory to get to a favourite location, figured i done them in on day one. The only thing I dont like is the front pocket which has a dry zipper is not actually waterproof. So I ’ ve got to be honest.. I really wanted to buy the new waders from First Lite. So much so that I sold the G3 Guides I had worn for several years. They were stocking foots, and for my purposes, boot foot would ’ ve been a better move. But I loved them- they ’ re incredible waders made here in the USA. And I wore the heck out of ‘ em. When First Lite announced that they were delaying their wader launch for another season, I went back to what I knew( Simms), saw this new model, and figured I would give it a try. First impressions: outstanding quality as always, the boot fits snug to the heel, and the zipper is a total game changer. I can ’ t help but think they made these with hunters in mind, given the color and specs( zip+boot foot+webbing on the front). The color is very similar to the Sitka Delta waders in their solid earth tone. Even if First Lite drops something truly revolutionary on their wader next year, I plan on keeping these forever.. a truly excellent product from Simms as always. Note- I normally wear a 9. 5 in shoes, and ordered the 10 Reg in these. Fits perfect so far!

Fit and finish are everything you 'd expect from Simms. Ease of movement even when bending down and squatting is huge. Nothing feels like it is going to rip or break. Using theses to mostly hunt in pairing them with a good leg gaiter to protect the neoprene on the boots should only make them better. I really hope they drop this color combo or similar in a stocking foot in the future. I wish they would have used a OD green boot on these. Boots are super comfortable out of the box and fit true to size. Went with theses over Sitkas deltas, nice to see Simms tapping into the hunting scene a little more. Bring on more solid dark colors and combos! Ill never own a pair of non zip waders again, total game changer!

I had a pair of Simms Tributary waders that lasted me 3 seasons here in the Pacific Northwest. I sent them in to Simms for repairs to the seam tape that had failed. Simms was not able to repair them and gave me an in store credit for the original price of the waders. The fact that they stood by their product warranty is reason enough to keep buying Simms. Now to the waders, the new Freestones fit is as listed but far better than the Tributary waders. The neoprene gravel guards fit tightly and don ’ t pull up while walking around. I haven ’ t had them in the water yet but expect them to perform well. The best part is I made this order on Thursday morning and received the waders in the mail Friday morning and Simms threw in a field repair kit for free. Thanks Simms and hopefully you update the Freestone Jacket to match soon.

The boot is fairly lightweight and rugged. Very simple boot without much to it. Fits true to size and is able to lace up securely. Not as stiff as most other wading boots. I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

I had the previous generation Freestone Waders and they took 3 years of abuse, 3- 4 days a week on the water and exceeded my expectations. I recently bought the new Freestone Zs and they are fantastic! The stitching makes for a better feel and better mobility. The fit, flex, and new gravel guards are top notch. The storage pockets are nice along with the tool docking area. The zipper is heavy duty and is convenient allowing for easy in and out and will be useful when nature calls. I have no complaints. I look forward to many, many days on the water with these waders!

While I have not used them yet I will give them 5 stars for the fit so far. I paired the waders with the salt boots for striper fishing and so far I am completely satisfied with the overall fit and feel while in them. Most wader pants I ’ ve tried seemed like a mere afterthought by the manufacturer. These new Simms pants are the best product available by far for those of us who don ’ t need full waders. I use them to launch my boat when necessary, to fish from my kayak and of course, for shallow wading. They are really comfortable and convenient, slipping on and off with no effort. I cant imagine buying wader pants without the zipper! They were perfect for me( Large King) … 6- 2 and 220 lbs. I do wish you could provide 3 three overlapping size ranges for the booties. For those of us with size 11 1/2 feet the 9- 11s are a little short and the 12- 13s a little long. Otherwise, these are perfect!'

I was looking for a wader that I could use when I did n't need to go too deep into the water and these work great. This is uber awesome! Simms created an amazing chest pack that addressed nagging chest pack issues from Simms and other manufacturers. It has a very functional pack layout with a great solid rigid drop down work surface. The pack is narrow so that you can see the walking surface in front as you navigate your on uncertain terrain. The fabric and fabric edges are waterproof and very high quality. Simms finally designed proper, functional straps that work really well. I am an Architect I like products that are well designed.
