5 Tstone916
White Mountains 21°F with 5- 10mph winds these gloves worked well as long as you keep active. My fingers were cool but not freezing cold( without liner gloves). My hands did not sweat like in normal gloves. People expecting toasty warm fingers might want to pair these gloves with a thin liner glove. These gloves are thicker than a liner glove but thin and light enough to fit in your jacket pocket. Sizing is perfect. In most gloves a Med is tight but fits perfectly and a Large leaves extra room in the finger tips. These gloves in Med fit almost perfect and leave room for a light weight liner glove.

5 Hugethetank
Very comfy, i just hope it will last. Color is great.

These gloves keep your hand dried very well. I have n't used under several weather yet, so I am not sure about waterproof from rain& snow yet. I used these at 10~15 degrees C, and my hands held some sweat. These gloves alone would be good between- 10~10 degree C. You would need extra thermal gears under- 10C. I felt the size runs a little large as I break in. You could do half size down if you want tight fits.

5 Jason
I do love the new gloves. I used the size chart and I feel like the XL was the right size for me. The look and material are of a high quality. They keep me warm in cold conditions skiing. For future builds I wish:- They had a zipper pouch for hand warmer and doubles as a vent. I would recommend these gloves and would purchase again.

[ High quality 3M Thinsulate gloves. These gloves are super warm and soft on the inside. They look rugged with their leather on the outside. Perfect for working outdoors or outdoor activities. They arent stiff meaning you can actually feel what youre trying to pick up. Even come with a removable wrist strap so if needed you can take the gloves off and still know where they are and then quickly put them back on.

5 LindaL
[ The Wells Lamont HydraHyde insulated gloves are perfect for cold weather hand protection. The leather repels moisture but stays flexible. The insulation keeps hands warm in cold weather. I really like the knitted wrist as it keeps snow out. These gloves seem very durable. The downside to these is that my dexterity is n't great when wearing them. My fine motor skill tasks are a bit tricky. Overall, these gloves keep my hands warm and dry, and they are affordable to purchase.

My son is on snow, 4+ days a week. He ’s blown through a number of other gloves that are more expensive than the spark. I wear other Black Diamond mittens that have always been durable, warm, and comfortable. I ’ m anticipating that these will last longer than other more expensive gloves that my son has worn. Black Diamond makes great product.

5 Mackenzie W.
I ’ ve only bought this pair because my 5 year old pair was stolen. Through probably 40+ patrol days a year and countless ski and touring days these are consistently the best moderate cold gloves I ’ ve ever had. The leather is durable and the insulation is perfect. It ’s an excellent glove. Only con: BD gloves tend to fit a bit big for the size and it isn ’ t consistent across all gloves. Best to try before you order

5 Stephen B.
Hands down these are the best gloves I ’ ve ever worn. I ’ ve had other name brand gloves but the quality of these surpass every other brand.

5 MICHAEL M.
I use these gloves for projects where i need the dexterity of fingers. Like the spark mitts, these had a tight wrist area to keep the snow and cold out and warm and roomy finger area. Also like the leash strap on each glove so they hang off your wrist when you take them off.( No more losing them in the snow)

5 John D.
I mostly use these for winter backcountry skiing. Easy to get on and off. Warm enough and lots of dexterity. Very durable.

5 Ski Gloves
So happy with my purchase. My daughter said her hands have never been warmer or dryer.

5 Active winter sports
I have a pair of these in the 3 finger claw type, they are my colder weather ski gloves. I got these for my teen kid since we go ski in colder temps( under 20F). These are nice and toasty and keep kid's hands warmer than the Scott gloves which are great for above 25F. I was able to get for the same price as Amazon so picking up at Dick's House of Sport was easy and we got to use them the next day. My pair of Hestras are going strong 5+ years later and still fine. At$ 110 the features Hestra should provide but does n't on these gloves were wrist tethers and a clip to keep the pair together( provided on their more expensive gloves) I added both myself which is easy to do. Even though they are expensive I think they will last years and years. Make sure to put the leather conditioner on the leather sections to keep them in good shape( it is sold separately).

5 Nickname
I got these for my son who spends a lot of time either shoveling the snow or playing with my grandson in the snow. We have had a lot of below zero windchills, and it becomes very dangerous for frostbite without the proper gloves. He absolutely loves these! He says they are the best gloves in below zero windchills! When temps are less harsh, and he takes my grandson outside to play in the snow, he says his hands are nice and warm! I highly reconnend these gloves for outside play and below zero windchills.

5 Jim54
I purchased these for the price($ 9. 95 pre Christmas sale). I was pleasantly surprised to find them warmer in 30 degree weather than my ski gloves that cost 4 times as much. They are warm, comfortable, and durable.

5 Kodiak
I purchased these for myself at 50% off. I would recommend these at that price point, but not at$ 20. The xl size is a bit smaller than other xl gloves, and wo n't fit a liner glove for skiing. Good for cold weather activities, but not extreme conditions. If you need extreme weather all day skiing gloves, consider something else. But for sunny, dry, seasonable skiing conditions these will work for the price. I use them for southern winter lake fishing/ boating, and for the price... I 'm satisfied.

5 Bob
I got these for 50% off and they are great. I would be happy with them even if I 'd paid full price. They are very warm, flexible, and comfortable. Do n't know how waterproof yet, but a great value.

5 loggermike
I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. I could even take the mittens off, use my fingers to put some nuts on bolts, and put the mittens back on.... No problem. No more painfully cold fingers.

5 KMRM
Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. Also love the tough exterior on the palm side-- seem like they will be long lasting. Hestra is my new favorite brand-- I also bought the white leather ones for cross- country skiing.

5 Mom of 2 from MA

I previously owned golding rocker chairs and they are showing their age. I have seen the exact chairs at a few different place we shop. I decided to go back to Dicks for the chairs because in my opinion they have a better selection than most. Dick ’s had numerous styles and colors to pick from. Plus of course alot of the Texans merchandise was on sell do I had to indulge myself.

4 Nuclearbob
I needed a pair of gloves for the sub zero weather we have been having here in Illinois. Sometimes, paying a little is just the right move.

These gloves( small men's size on a large woman's hand) fit really well from the start and needed almost no break- in. These are fantastic! I 'm normally a gloves guy but I bought these for very cold conditions and they did not disappoint. The fit is excellent. They kept my hands warm for two hours on a snowmobile at- 18C( without grip heaters). I like the snug cuffs, they fit under my coat sleeve and keep the snow out. Time will tell but they seem durable and well constructed.

5 Anthony G
I 've been using these gloves 2- 3 times weekly for around 4 months now. They 're starting to show some wear on the palms, but I believe that's on me for not treating the leather first. These gloves have keep my hands warm in temps as low as- 25° with the wind chill added. Still very efficient even when my hands got sweaty in them.

5 Richard B
Super high quality materials and construction. The majority of the mit is a really nice quality leather with great feel. Elastic cuff is fairly snug pulling them on but gives nice closure and feel once on.

5 Lucas D
As a ski instructor these mittens did the job perfectly. Worn in temperatures ranging from- 15°F to 40°F with no issues. The leather feels premium and the overall look of the gloves is great.

I could n't decide between the snow gloves and the premium gloves and just decided to try the cheaper ones first to see if they heated up enough for a Wisconsin winter. Yuppers, they do. So with the money I saved not buying the snow gloves, I got some more 5volt batteries, so my hands do n't every get cold if I can help it. Shoveling snow or brushing off my car I wear these gloves and they have n't let me down yet.

5 Jamie
I usually buy the Grabber hand warmers during the winter in order to slip them inside my gloves to keep my hands warm. When I saw these heated gloves in the store, I thought it was such a clever idea. It saves me money and I feel better about not using so many disposable hand warmers. The battery packs are slim and not even noticeable inside the zippered pocket on the cuffs. They are convenient and easy to use and recharge.

5 Cassidy
I wanted to try a set of battery heated gloves that heat fingers, and you can definitely feel the heat in these gloves. I have poor circulation around my hands, so the heating from these gloves helped a lot.

I love these gloves, they are so warm! I use them on their own hiking while splitboarding and as a liner for really cold days in the resort. The Small size fit my small hands very well... I have borderline kid size hands and they still fit me pretty well. I was able to use my phone with the gloves on my hands. Highly recommended if you want warm hands!

5 L
I was expecting those gloves to be good, but they absolutely exceeded my expectations. The first time I wore them, I was outside for six hours in steady rain and near- freezing temperatures. My hands were the driest part of me. Not that these are waterproof- they aren't- but the grid fleece on the backs of the hands wicks and breathes so well that my body heat dried the gloves faster than they could get wet. My hands stayed warm and dry, and the fingers were still dextrous enough that I could work outside. Love these and will be buying more, plus anything else made of Vigor Plus fleece that I can get my hands on. Big improvement in fit over the previous year's model as well.

5 Daniel P

5 Matt M

Took these on trail and they kept my fingers warm in a cold rain. I like the fit, the feel, but glad it did not rain the next day because they did not dry fast at all. Did not expect waterproof of course, but was hoping they would be useful again without a dryer. Taking something else for days long hiking next time, but these are still nice, keeping for different scenarios, hikes closer to home.

I still love these gloves and will continue to use them. HOWEVER, I did gain some more experience with them. Doing astrophotography in Arches in 21 degree weather taught me that I 'll need to add another layer and use hand warmers with these. They were fine while the blood was pumping, but when it came to waiting around, my fingers got numb. They would be perfectly fine for anything above 32 degrees. The pull tabs and large openings made it easy to get my hands in and out quickly. Adjusts at the wrist and opening for a tighter fit.

Frequently Asked Questions For Durable Winter Gloves

When searching for durable winter gloves, consider materials that offer both warmth and resistance to wear, such as synthetic fabrics or leather. Look for features like reinforced seams and waterproof or water-resistant coatings to enhance longevity and protect against moisture. Insulation is also important, so choose gloves that provide adequate warmth without sacrificing dexterity. Additionally, consider design elements like adjustable cuffs and touchscreen compatibility for added convenience.

To determine the right size for winter gloves, start by measuring the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Use a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string that you can measure against a ruler. Once you have your measurement, refer to the sizing chart typically provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary. It's also helpful to consider the type of insulation and lining in the gloves, as this can affect the fit and comfort.

Durable winter gloves are often made from a variety of materials designed to provide warmth, protection, and flexibility. Common materials include synthetic fabrics, leather, and wool, which offer insulation and water resistance. Additionally, many gloves feature reinforced palms and fingers for enhanced durability, while insulation materials like fleece or Thinsulate help retain heat. These combinations ensure that the gloves can withstand harsh winter conditions while maintaining comfort and functionality.

Yes, certain styles of winter gloves are designed to provide enhanced warmth. Insulated gloves often feature materials that trap heat while allowing moisture to escape, making them suitable for cold conditions. Additionally, gloves with longer cuffs can help keep warmth in and prevent cold air from entering. Fingerless designs may offer dexterity but typically provide less warmth compared to fully insulated options.

Insulated winter gloves are designed to provide additional warmth by trapping heat and preventing cold air from entering, making them ideal for extremely cold conditions. Non-insulated options, on the other hand, are typically lighter and more breathable, offering greater dexterity and comfort in milder temperatures. The choice between insulated and non-insulated gloves depends on the specific weather conditions and activities you plan to engage in, as well as your personal preference for warmth versus flexibility.

Durable winter gloves are ideal for a variety of outdoor activities in cold conditions. They provide warmth and protection during winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing. Additionally, they are suitable for tasks like shoveling snow, working outdoors, or engaging in other activities where hand dexterity and insulation are important. Many designs also allow for touchscreen use, making them practical for everyday wear in chilly weather.

To ensure the longevity of your winter gloves, it's important to follow proper care and maintenance practices. Always clean them according to the manufacturer's instructions, which may involve hand washing or using a gentle cycle in the washing machine. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation. Additionally, avoid exposing them to excessive moisture or heat, as this can compromise their insulation and overall durability.

Fingerless winter gloves provide greater dexterity and tactile sensitivity, making them ideal for activities that require fine motor skills, such as handling equipment or using touchscreens. In contrast, full-finger winter gloves offer more warmth and protection for the entire hand, making them suitable for colder conditions and outdoor activities where insulation is a priority. The choice between the two often depends on the specific use case and the balance between warmth and functionality that the user needs. Many people opt for fingerless gloves for tasks that require precision, while full-finger gloves are preferred for general warmth and protection.

Yes, there are winter gloves specifically designed for extreme weather conditions. These gloves often feature advanced insulation materials to retain heat, waterproofing to keep hands dry, and durable outer fabrics to withstand harsh elements. Many styles also include additional features like reinforced palms for grip and adjustable cuffs to seal out cold air. Whether for outdoor sports or work in severe conditions, these gloves provide essential protection and comfort.

When choosing winter gloves for outdoor sports, consider the material and insulation to ensure warmth and comfort in cold conditions. Look for features such as waterproofing and breathability to keep your hands dry and prevent overheating. Additionally, think about the fit and dexterity, as a snug fit can enhance grip and control while participating in activities. Finally, consider any specific features like touchscreen compatibility or reinforced palms that may be beneficial for your chosen sport.
