My CTX 3030 causes sore elbows after a couple hours use. This equinox is bringing much relief. It's a great detector as well, and much easier to learn than the CTX. Very pleased with my new machine.

I ’ ve had my 800 for 9 months now, it ’s done nothing but impress me over and over. I was using a Whites V3i and Garrett ’s AT Pro before buying the equinox. I sold off both of those machines with no regrets and now use the equinox as my primary machine and have never done better. The battery life is great, about 13 hours on a charge. It ’s lightning fast recovery and processing speed are where this thing shines. Along with really good depth. I ’ ve took this machine to spots that I hunted heavy with my old machines and found things I missed or couldn ’ t hit with them, same outcome at spots that have been hunted by others before. As of 8- 28- 19 I am up to 71 silver coins, 3 large cents, 54 Indian head pennies, and hundreds of wheat pennies with this machine. If you choose this machine you will not regret it!

There are various types of electronic detectors designed for specific uses, including metal detection, treasure hunting, and security applications. Handheld models are often portable and suitable for casual users, while more advanced versions may offer features for serious hobbyists or professionals. Some detectors are tailored for specific environments, such as beaches or parks, and may include specialized settings for different types of metals. Additionally, there are detectors designed for security purposes, which can help identify concealed items in various settings.
When choosing the right electronic detector, consider the type of detecting you plan to do, such as treasure hunting, gold prospecting, or locating lost items. Evaluate the features that are important to you, such as sensitivity, depth detection, and discrimination capabilities, which help differentiate between various types of metals. Additionally, think about the weight and ergonomics of the detector, especially if you plan to use it for extended periods. Finally, consider your experience level, as some detectors are designed for beginners while others offer advanced features for seasoned users.
When selecting an electronic detector, consider features such as sensitivity and discrimination capabilities, which help identify different types of metals. Look for adjustable settings that allow you to customize the detection depth and sensitivity based on your environment. Additionally, a lightweight design and ergonomic handle can enhance comfort during extended use. Finally, consider the type of display, as a clear and easy-to-read screen can improve your overall experience.
Yes, there are electronic detectors specifically designed for beginners. These models typically feature user-friendly controls, lightweight designs, and simplified settings to make the detection process easier. Many beginner-friendly detectors also come with basic features that help users learn the fundamentals of metal detecting without overwhelming them. This makes it easier for newcomers to enjoy the hobby and develop their skills over time.
Electronic detectors are typically constructed using a combination of durable plastics and lightweight metals. The housing often features high-quality plastic to ensure portability and resistance to environmental factors. Additionally, components such as coils and circuitry may incorporate various metals and conductive materials to enhance detection capabilities. These materials work together to create a reliable and efficient device for locating objects.
Electronic detectors vary in sensitivity and depth detection capabilities based on their design and technology. Sensitivity refers to the detector's ability to identify smaller or deeper objects, while depth detection indicates how far underground the detector can effectively locate items. Higher sensitivity models may be able to detect smaller metal objects at greater depths, making them suitable for more specialized searches. Conversely, some detectors may prioritize depth over sensitivity, allowing for the detection of larger objects buried deeper in the ground.
To use an electronic detector effectively, start by familiarizing yourself with the device's settings and features. Conduct thorough research on the area you plan to search, as different environments can yield varying results. It's important to maintain a slow and steady sweep motion while keeping the detector close to the ground for optimal detection. Additionally, consider using headphones to better hear signals and minimize background noise, which can enhance your overall experience.
Yes, electronic detectors are versatile tools that can be used in a variety of environments, including beaches, parks, and even urban areas. Many models are designed to handle different terrains and conditions, making them suitable for detecting metals in sand, soil, or grass. When selecting a detector, consider features like sensitivity and waterproof capabilities to enhance performance in specific settings.
The typical battery life of an electronic detector can vary based on the model and usage. Many detectors are designed to operate for several hours on a single set of batteries, with some lasting up to 20 hours or more under optimal conditions. Factors such as the type of batteries used, the frequency of use, and the settings selected can all influence battery performance. It's advisable to check the specifications for the specific model to get a more accurate estimate of battery life.
When selecting an electronic detector, consider both the size and weight to ensure comfortable use during extended periods. A lightweight model is generally easier to handle and reduces fatigue, especially if you plan to use it for long sessions. Additionally, the size should fit your body type; a detector with an adjustable shaft can accommodate different heights, allowing for a more ergonomic experience. Testing various models in-store can help you find the right balance of size and weight that feels comfortable for you.
