I used to wear the New Balance 9060, which I liked, but after switching to the Hoka Bondi 9, I can confidently say these are even better. The cushioning is amazing — it feels like I ’ m walking on clouds. My feet stay comfortable all day with no pain or fatigue, even after long walks. I love these shoes! I had two pairs of the 5s. The rubber did come off on the bottom the first week but I superglued it back on. I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc in these babies and they did great! Love the extra cushioning and durability. Will definitely buy them again for my next long hike. The extra cushioning prevented any foot pain. [ I have been using the Altra Olympus 6 for hiking, running, and fastpacking. This is my first time trying a full- cushion trail shoe, but I have been road running in the Altra Torin for about 6 years. After about 25 miles of mixed terrain, weather and landscapes, I feel this shoe excels in climbing and tackling dry, loose terrain. I felt stable and powerful sprinting up sandy hillsides and dusty singletrack. The shoe absorbs the impact of large gravel, and bites into turns well. I slid around a bit on large wet roots and slick rocks under the stiff midfoot but recovered quickly and happily traded that for the protection from sharp obstacles. The high stack kept my feet dry when encountering mud and puddles, while the well ventilated upper kept me comfortable on long, hot days. The contoured form around the Achilles took a little getting used to, but it worked to lock my heel on ascents; no hot spots. Laces stay tied. Altra gave me this free product to try, and I 'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.

[ All I run in is Altra's, so I was stoked when Altra gave me this free product to try. The Olympus 6's look a bit like oversize clown shoes, however, they are SO comfortable I just love running in them! Recently, I was running up a muddy hill along Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and some guy and his dog tried to run up the same hill, and he started sliding down it! I reached my hand out to help him get up the hill, and so he grabbed onto it, and the grip of these shoes was nearly strong enough to hold up him and me, but eventually he started to drag me down the hill with him, so I yelled at him to let go, as he propelled up. It was reaffirming to me though how well these Olympus 6's performed compared to other trail shoes- especially on the wet/muddy ground! These Olympus 6's have one heck of a grip! The colors are decent( I always prefer men's colors to women's, but the women's are okay on this model shoe). The heel is a bit large on me, and the shoes look silly on my skinny legs, but these really are super comfortable shoes that still feel pretty lightweight( all things considered) and really do perform well! For someone looking for a high cushioned shoe with good traction, I 'd highly recommend the Olympus 6's. Thanks Altra for providing these shoes for free to me so I could review them. I sure do love them!

I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

I 'm an Altra purist and have been for 3 or 4 years. I have road and trail styles, but with the Olympus 6, Altra just outdid themselves. I purchased these for trail running on small gravel/dirt trails around the beach trails in the hills of the SoCal coast. Nothing technical, just a good sturdy and grippy shoe. The structure and protection level in the Olympus 6 is perfect- the toe has protection and the edge and bite of the sole works great. I was also looking for cushion and I would say the cushion is cloud- like. The reduction in fatigue from long runs is really noticed. The shoe is sturdy, but the comfort is level 10. By far my favorite 10+ miler trail shoe I 've ever worn. I have to order another pair as these quickly became my dailies. I work in film production and I have lived in these since I purchased them. I 've been struggling to find women's court shoes that have a wide enough toe box to be comfortable for my bunions and large side bone. These are very roomy and the fact they they have only mesh in some areas which adds for a softer feel for messed up feet like mine. I have n't played tennis yet in these but in general I am way happier with the fit. I used to loyally wear K- Swiss until they changed the sizing and became too narrow for my problem feet.

We bought these a month ago and I ’ m more than pleasantly surprised thst they are still going strong. My son is very active and pretty rough on just about everything. But these shoes are holding up. He wears them daily. He would often complain his feet and legs hurt in his last shoes but we haven ’ t heard a single complaint in these. Note, while these say `` Wide '' for me they are actually normal width and the normal width is too narrow and painful. I wear a 10. 5D in the New Balance, and ordered the same size 3n2 and... well, ouch. Had to war the 460s for three more games. Dick's made the exchange painless and these wide variants were perfect. Lighter than the 460s, the sole gives me a little more grip in the infield and allows me to duck behind a catcher without my foot slipping back too far. Looks like they will clean up nicely too. I highly recommend. You 'll not only look professional, but be comfortable too.

These look great, and seem lighter than my old New Balance Shoes, the sole looks better too... but... I wear a 10. 5D and these are not D sized width. The way they are constructed( solid toe) they will never break in either. So... back to Dicks tonight for an exchange. No big deal, I had to try them to find out, and a few umps I know wear the low plate shoes from 3n2 and love them. I did n't ask if they bought wide or regular. So, unless your foot is truly a D width or less, go for the wider shoes. And there's my. 02. Thanks Dick's for making this so easy!
