Love the option for felt bottom soles as the waters in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina can get pretty slick. ... These are the most comfortable and convenient set of lightweight wading shoes for warm weather I have ever

Love the hiking boot feel and flexibility of my Flyweights. Perfect for our hike in streams here in the Southern Appalachian and Smoky Mountains! Dual purpose footwear. They work well with my G4 ’s or a pair of Simms wading socks for the summer heat!

They work great right out of the box! I knocked the new off of them by fishing 7 straight days in Argentina on the Malleo. The boots offered plenty of support both in and out of the water. We did a lot of walking and I had no problem scrambling up and down the bluffs. The felts worked just fine on the slick, rolling, bowling ball sized rocks and my legs appreciated the lite weight at the end of the week. I ordered the size recommended on the Simms webpage and they fit great. I highly recommend them.

Light weight with plenty of support and comfort. I ordered my shoe size which was perfect for my waders and a pair of heavy socks. Got the felt for North Georgia fishing and will get a pair of the rubber soled for my trips out west. Thumbs up!

Used them on the Neversink, a river whose riverbed is full of good size rocks and boulders that are moss covered. The boot gripped like a charm. Because of the light weight the boot did n't protect me as well as my heavier, more padded boots when I stepped in between rocks but the lightweight was a real lifesaver with our 2. 2 mile hike from the river at the end of day.

These boots are amazingly light and appear to be very durable. Just fished in them everyday for a week and was totally satisfied. The size chart was accurate and very helpful- got the boots bigger than I would have thought, but the size was just right.
Felt sole fishing shoes are designed for anglers who wade into rivers and streams. The felt material provides excellent traction on slippery surfaces, such as rocks and mud, making them a popular choice for fishing in freshwater environments. Their ability to grip wet surfaces helps prevent slips and falls, enhancing safety while fishing.
When choosing felt sole fishing shoes, consider features such as comfort, support, and durability. Look for shoes with a sturdy construction that can withstand rough terrain and water exposure. Additionally, features like adjustable straps and cushioned insoles can enhance comfort during long hours of fishing.
Felt sole fishing shoes are particularly well-suited for freshwater fishing in rivers and streams, where slippery surfaces are common. However, they may not be ideal for all fishing environments, such as rocky shorelines or saltwater conditions, where rubber soles might provide better traction and durability. Consider the specific fishing conditions you'll encounter when selecting your footwear.
Felt soles offer superior grip on wet and slippery surfaces, making them ideal for wading in freshwater. In contrast, rubber soles tend to perform better on dry or rocky surfaces and provide better durability in saltwater environments. The choice between felt and rubber soles depends on the fishing conditions you expect to face.
Felt sole fishing shoes can be worn in cold weather, especially if they are designed with insulation or thicker materials. However, it's important to consider the overall fit and whether they can accommodate warm socks. Keeping your feet warm and dry is essential for comfort during cold-weather fishing trips.
To maintain felt sole fishing shoes, it's important to clean them after each use, especially if they have been exposed to mud or debris. Rinse them with fresh water and allow them to dry completely to prevent mold and odors. Regular inspections for wear and tear can also help extend the life of your shoes.
