These are really handy as slip floats to avoid adding a bunch of weight to your line, and to take advantage of the castability as it slides down towards your hook and you do n't have a long leader to lob out. When using as a slip float with bobber stoppers such as the Eagle Claw ones you need a bead in between, otherwise I 've had the bobber stopper jam inside the float's tube rendering them useless. The big critique I have is after getting wet it can be impossible to rethread line through the float. I think the line adheres to the wet surgical tubing. So you ca n't really change up your rigging while fishing if you want to remove the float( e. g. to cast a lure).
