I have a few surf rods, all cost way more then this one and funny thing is this one is my absolute favorite. I tell everyone how shocked I was with how good this one feels and performs and that it truly is the best 20$ I ever spent in my life. I reeled in a 10lb striper out of heavy surf just the other day with 30mph headwinds casting a 2oz bucktail. I have the 11 ’ one. If you surfcast, try this rod. You ’ ll probably sell all your others. Feels so good in the hands and it ’s so easy on my back and the casting goes so far and the lure action is so easy to handle. Buy this rod now.

In the past I had a few bad experiences with Daiwa fishing gear and as a result was skeptical of their products for years. Then a couple months ago I bought a couple Daiwa reels that impressed me for carp fishing and they were so sturdy and solid and casted so well that I use them for saltwater as well. While the reels were up to the challenge for surf fishing my Carp rods were not so I picked up 2 of these 11 Daiwa surf rods and am so glad I did. They feel so good and solid and cast beautifully. I have so much control over where my bait lands with these rods and have just enough sensitivity to see and feel even the small bites. I am blown away by the quality of these rods and would recommend them to anyone.

DSG Customer Service Suck
I ordered this originally in February and instead of receiving the item I ordered( 10ft MH) i got a Marathon Fathom rod... after complaining to customer service, they sent me out a new one.... now of course, the rod I received was only 9ft and not the 10ft I ordered. Dicks still has n't given me the product I originally ordered. However, the 9ft performed exactly how I thought it would. and it was awesome. It threw 4oz with a chunk of clam at least 80yrds with ease. Handled bringing in two schoolie stripers 26and 27 '' perfectly. I plan on buying another one... just hope I actually get what I order this time.

First impressions of this rod are good. I bought the 9' combo in the blue camo. The quality is better than I imagined. The rod is sensitive and has good action to the tip. The reel is bigger than I expected and was prespooled with monofilament line. For anyone wondering the 9' combo is medium heavy power with medium action. It is rated for 12- 25 pound line and can cast 3/4 oz to 2 1/2 oz weights.

When selecting a fishing rod for ocean fishing, consider features such as length, action, and power. Longer rods can help cast further into the ocean, while the action and power determine how well the rod can handle larger fish. Additionally, look for rods made from durable materials that can withstand saltwater conditions.
The best types of fishing rods for ocean fishing typically include surf rods and jigging rods. Surf rods are designed for casting from the shore, while jigging rods are ideal for targeting fish at various depths. Each type offers specific advantages depending on your fishing style and the species you are targeting.
The length of a fishing rod plays a crucial role in ocean fishing, as it influences casting distance and leverage. Longer rods allow for greater casting distance, which is beneficial when fishing from the shore or a boat. However, shorter rods can provide better control and sensitivity when reeling in larger fish.
Fishing rods for ocean fishing are often made from materials like fiberglass, graphite, or composite blends. Fiberglass rods are known for their durability and flexibility, while graphite rods are lighter and offer better sensitivity. Choosing the right material can enhance your fishing experience based on your preferences and the conditions you face.
When choosing a fishing rod for ocean fishing, it's essential to consider its power and action. Power refers to the rod's strength and ability to handle different fish sizes, while action describes how much the rod bends when pressure is applied. A medium to heavy power rod with a fast action is often ideal for targeting larger ocean species.
Yes, there are fishing rods specifically designed for various ocean fishing techniques, such as surf fishing, jigging, and trolling. Each technique requires different rod characteristics to optimize performance. Understanding the technique you plan to use will help you select the most suitable rod for your ocean fishing adventures.
