This is a great all around lure. I buy it in the uv green tiger and it kills on days when nothing else works. I have caught almost every type of freshwater game fish in my area south eastern NY with this lure including but not limited to trout, bass, pickerel, muskies and perch. This is an essential part of an anglers tackle box.

I like this little crankbait. Casts far and I just rip it out of grass and brush. You can catch bass with this thing. I got mine in the Orange Tiger UV.

Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! Colors I mainly use for this are helsinki shad and blue chrome( pure personal opinion but Im sure all the colors work). Im trying the pink tiger next! Random: This was one of the first rapala lures Ive ever bought back in the day( Im only 18, lol) and it quickly became a lure I always had faith in. Whenever I was feelin one of those `` not so serious '' kind of fishing days Id always have at least one of these in my mini tackle crate.

Action is incredible on this, and the size is pretty well suited for 2lb+ largemouth bass. Really fun to jig, and catches fish.

Frequently Asked Questions For Flat Sided Crankbaits

Flat sided crankbaits are designed with a flat body shape, which allows them to produce a unique wobbling action in the water. This design often results in a tighter swimming action compared to round-bodied crankbaits, making them effective for targeting specific species. They are particularly useful in colder water conditions where fish may be less aggressive and more selective.

Flat sided crankbaits excel in various fishing scenarios, particularly in colder waters or when fish are less active. They are effective for targeting species like bass and pike, especially in shallow or weedy areas. Additionally, their ability to mimic distressed baitfish makes them a great choice during the early spring and late fall.

Flat sided crankbaits are typically made from durable materials such as plastic or wood, which contribute to their buoyancy and action in the water. The choice of material can affect the bait's weight, sound, and overall performance. Many models also feature high-quality finishes and realistic colors to enhance their appeal to fish.

Choosing the right flat sided crankbait involves considering factors such as water clarity, depth, and the species you are targeting. Lighter colors may work better in clear water, while darker shades can be more effective in murky conditions. Additionally, selecting a crankbait with the appropriate diving depth for your fishing environment is crucial for success.

Flat sided crankbaits offer several advantages, including a unique action that can trigger strikes from less aggressive fish. Their design allows for better performance in colder water temperatures, making them a go-to option during seasonal transitions. Furthermore, their ability to mimic the movement of injured baitfish can be particularly effective in enticing predatory species.
