The Rapala Jointed Shad Rap crankbait is my go to lure when it comes down yo fishing. When the fish are not biting I tie this baby on and she always seems to bull through. This bait is amazing at enticing the bass to bite.

5 Possumbait
Great crank bait-- effective with smallmouth bass, rockfish and redeye. use it almost exclusively for smallmouth!

5 FisherJ
The jointed shad rap has caught me largemouth when others failed. It floats, dives quickly, and suspends. When you learn a proper technique for retrieval, you will surely catch fish. I recommend the perch color.

5 Stacey55
Runs true, dives down to about twelve feet trolled and has great suspended action. Fishes as well as baits costing twice the price.

Love the action on these. It gets a lot of attention while still or at a crank. I will now have to buy in every color.

5 Dixonville O.
I bought my first Crickhopper over 25 years ago, and it has been my number 2 highest producing lure.

I regularly fish open water and smaller creeks. The Rebel Crickhopper Lure is my legendary favorite. I primarily fish for Bluegill and other panfish. Whenever the time of day is right and the fish are around, the hits are almost 100%. I use the crickhopper with 6# fluorocarbon line and a small Zebco( 33, 22, etc.). No need on spending more with this lure.

5 Anonymous
I bought two Crickhoppers to try out with my ultralight tackle and was surprised at how many panfish I caught. Just about anything will go after them too. I 've caught plenty of largemouth on them. The natural colors work best for me on sunny days, pick one up and you wo n't regret it!

5 Dave
I love Rebel lures, they look so real and are priced very well too. The crickhopper is my go to ultralight fishing lure. On small creeks and ponds its deadly. It catches fish every time I fish it. I have all the color patterns. You ca n't go wrong with these great little lures.

Have purchased several of these because they work! The jointed lures have good motion. Can just Cast, Retrive Slowly, and Catch Fish. Easier to use that a standard jerk bait.

5 Dickie69
I bought this lure in NY to fish the Erie Canal. I already have just about every size of this lure and various colors as well. Over the years, this lure has been a go to when the bite is hot or when it gets tough. The action on it is amazing. You can float it, twitch it, run it down a foot or two or deeper. A true classic that has produced many, many fish for me over the 30+ years I 've owned one!

5 Jmarquay
I love this lure I have caught a lot of bass 3 to 4lbs

5 Triton Man
As the name implies, I 've had some really good success with this lure by letting it settle to the bottom and then rippin' it and letting it fall to near the bottom before rippin' it again. I 've caught muskie, pike, walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass on it. The walleye and smallmouth seem to like it the best. I have n't narrowed it down to one color either, mostly just the retrieve method. They are worth trying.

5 Iceman42
I 've used it a little every time I have went out this year, and it's never let me down. I 've gone 12 times this year and caught a bass on it 7 times.

5 sarc
Distinctive rattle thats different than other rattle baits. It deflects off of weeds nicely and really triggers a reaction bite.

5 thefishingboss
At first when i got this it was just a tackle filler but then one day the bass and other predetorial fish were just smashing bait fish in the weeds off a drop off so i decided to swim it slow off the shallow and then heavilly crank it off tye drop off and then boom a three pound small mouth just smashes the lure.

5 TurtleSF
Does what it says. Rip hard and you feel tons of vibration and resistance. Crank slower and you can see your rod tip bouncing. If you 're looking for a rip bait this is a good one to try.

I like the design of this lure and from my fishing experience, I do feel you would have success. I like the sleek design and its appearance as it resembles a bait fish.

Whether your trolling, casting, or drifting these lure are great! Walleye, northerns, and lakers with HJ 10 and bigger, the smaller ones for salmon, smallies, perch and big browns!

5 Chisleme1
I have n't caught one friggin fish with this some of a gum. But, boy is it fun to watch its action! Nuff said

5 TheHiTorBowman
The Rapala Husky Jerk is fast becoming my favorite lure. From Large mouth to Crappie, from Small mouth to Blue gills, fish have attacked my silver husky Jerk's with relish. The other day, two hit my silver Husky Jerk simeltaneously and I landed both together. I now have several sizes in my tackle box and they are my go to lure.

5 Vince71
Great bait, It does take a bit to get the hang of it's action. With a little twitching and pause it actually looks alive.

I had n't been fishing in about thirty years, and upon a recommendation on the internet, I purchased a couple of Sonar 433's. One `` fluorescent green '' and the other in `` perch. '' I fished off a pier at Put- in- Bay, OH in Lake Erie. I 'd never caught anything on an artificial bait or lure in my previous fishing years. I varied my retrieves and using a steady retrieve I started getting hits. In two hours I landed 6- 8 sheepshead( not a glamor fish, I know, but fun after 30 years away!), a white bass and a couple smallmouth( one threw the hook in the water though.) I was quite pleased, and with clear water at my location I could see the action. I liked it and obviously so did the fish. I 'll have to by a new fluorescent green one, though, as my line broke at the not while bringing one fish in. The fish swam off with the lure still in its mouth. Some lucky fisherman will get a lure.

5 Jerry
Use many colors of Heddon Sonar, but when Walleye seem to be a little sluggish and picky, the Blue Flitter is the secret weapon they ca n't seem to resist. No matter what your jigging with, it's a good idea to have one or two of these in your tackle box.

5 P H.
I had n't been fishing in about thirty years- since my mid- Twenties. I had two of these on the recommendation of someone in a forum so where on the web. I had never caught anything on an artificial bait or lure, but as I was on a vacation and could n't carry much, those were what I had to work with. I found a pier at Put- I Need- Bay, Ohio( western Lake Erie) and attached one of the chartreuse Sonar 431's I bought for the trip. I thought I felt a strike, but chalked it up to wishful thinking.

5 Paul
I had n't been fishing in nearly 25 years. While searching the internet, I found a recommendation for the Sonar. I bought two 433s. I was fishing from the shore at Put- in- Bay, OH in Lake Erie. I had never caught anything on an artificial bait or lure... in my life. In about two hours I caught about 6- 8 sheepshead( exciting, but fun to be catching something), a white bass, and a very good size smallmouth. Not a bad return to the sport.

They are much too expensive but work great so I still buy them.

These lures work perfect in shallow waters. They are deadly on catching saugeyes. They work excellent for fishing at night from a boat or from shore. They have just the right weight for getting a long cast.

I have used this lure for many years. I have found more success with the rainbow trout color. I understand it is discontinued. I would like to get some. they work great for bass trout in the west.

This bait is by far the best producer for big fish in the fall I 've ever used. It has produced walleye over 30 '' multiple times for me. I use it starting in October and use it into December for big walleye in Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. The thread fin shad is the best pattern I 've used so far. Great lure!

This has been my go to bait for years. It always comes through for me when I 'm fishing for Slime Gators or for Bass. Good from spring until fall never lets me down, the clown color works well for my situation. My fishing buddy who always uses live bait for everything has even been converted over to these lures. Thank you for a great lure keep 'em coming!!

Frequently Asked Questions For Pike Crankbaits

Pike crankbaits are artificial lures designed to mimic the movement and appearance of prey fish, making them attractive to pike. They typically feature a diving lip that allows them to swim at various depths, creating a realistic action in the water. The shape, color, and size of these crankbaits can vary, allowing anglers to choose based on the specific conditions and preferences of the fish.

When selecting a pike crankbait, consider factors such as water clarity, depth, and the type of forage in the area. The color and pattern of the crankbait can play a significant role in attracting pike, especially in different lighting conditions. Additionally, the size and action of the lure should match the size of the fish you are targeting and the specific fishing environment.

Pike crankbaits can be effective year-round, but their success often peaks during the spring and fall when pike are more active and feeding aggressively. During these seasons, pike tend to move into shallower waters, making them more accessible to anglers using crankbaits. Additionally, adjusting your retrieval speed and technique can enhance effectiveness based on seasonal patterns.

The best retrieves for pike crankbaits can vary, but a steady, moderate speed is often effective. Experimenting with pauses and twitches can also trigger strikes, as it mimics the erratic movement of injured prey. Additionally, varying the speed and depth of your retrieve can help you find what works best for the specific conditions and pike behavior.

Choosing the right pike crankbait for different water conditions involves considering factors like water clarity, temperature, and structure. In clear water, more natural colors and subtle patterns may be effective, while murky water often calls for brighter, more vibrant colors to attract attention. Additionally, understanding the depth where pike are holding can guide your selection of crankbaits with appropriate diving capabilities.
