Been using these for seems like ever. From 6 lb small mouth in Lake Erie to trout and walleye in Colorado its pretty much what I only fish with if not fly fishing. Just wish Rebel had n't got rid of the 2 inch silver color years back. Silver, bright green and light brown/white were my go too's. Now I can only fish silver in smaller which does n't troll as well.

This my go to lure you ca n't go wrong with this lure! I 've caught bass in every situation! A must have lure!

Winter fishing is tough around here with the frequent rain and fast moving high water on the Hiwassee River. I had some free time and wanted to try for some small mouth. The wee- craw was already tied on, so I tried it out. Almost immediately were the trout hitting it. I was impressed to have caught anything with the water level and speed. The lure has good action and color, I will keep one with me when stream or river fishing.

June 28, 2020! I used a strawberry colored craw! Total for the day was 3 Pike 5 lbs or over! One 9lb Pike 3 smallmouth bass and several eating size Walleyes! That little lure took a beating and if the 9 lb Pike had of made one more run the hooks would have straightened out! I will be buying more of these! My fishing Buddy was amazed! This is not the first time I have had great production from this bait!

I regularly fish open water and smaller creeks. The Rebel Crickhopper Lure is my legendary favorite. I primarily fish for Bluegill and other panfish. Whenever the time of day is right and the fish are around, the hits are almost 100%. I use the crickhopper with 6# fluorocarbon line and a small Zebco( 33, 22, etc.). No need on spending more with this lure.

I bought two Crickhoppers to try out with my ultralight tackle and was surprised at how many panfish I caught. Just about anything will go after them too. I 've caught plenty of largemouth on them. The natural colors work best for me on sunny days, pick one up and you wo n't regret it!

I love Rebel lures, they look so real and are priced very well too. The crickhopper is my go to ultralight fishing lure. On small creeks and ponds its deadly. It catches fish every time I fish it. I have all the color patterns. You ca n't go wrong with these great little lures.

The Deep Wee has proven to be a useful lure on largemouth, rock bass and other panfish, as well as walleye. My model( in the Nest Robber color) wears many battle scars from all these species( plus a pike and gar) proudly. I use this lure at night mostly when I feel like catching large rock bass, and a hit a cast is not uncommon. The action is terrific, and this lure can really withstand a beating. I recommend this lure for its versatility and ability to obtain bites in many different conditions.

Works great on stocked trout when slow- trolled 0. 5-. 12 MPH. Only downside is that trout often easily throw it at the net. Changing out back hook to a# 10 does help somewhat. Firetiger and Red work the best in spring conditions.

great little lure, just recently purchased and used for the first time today. love how it looks and performs in the water. Caught small bass shortly after getting to pond however before one hour of use, on a cast near some moss, i pulled back to get it through the moss and came back with only the lip. Will use this bait in the future, but there is definately a design flaw in connecting the lip.

I love this lure for Little for BIG PANFISH... I usually catch BIG Bluegill, Redbreast and Rock Bass with this lure, got me my personal PB. The hooks are super sharp and small, very hard to get out of the fish's mouth. Need small pliers when using these lures.

Why would I rate a bait, without having the opportunity to use it yet? Because these baits WILL catch fish, they have before and of course these new replacements are of the same quality. If you stick to baits that have great reputations and have a proven track record, you can ’ t go wrong.

These are a must for any swallow water angler. You can not good wrong with a squarebill.
A trout crankbait is a type of fishing lure designed to mimic the movement and appearance of small fish or aquatic creatures that trout typically prey on. These lures are often made from hard materials and feature a lip that helps them dive to specific depths when retrieved. As the angler reels in the line, the crankbait creates a wobbling action that attracts trout by simulating the erratic movements of injured prey. This makes them effective for enticing strikes from trout in various water conditions.
When selecting a trout crankbait, consider the size, shape, and color of the lure, as these factors can influence its effectiveness in attracting fish. Look for features such as a realistic finish and a design that mimics the movement of prey, which can entice trout. Additionally, the depth at which the crankbait dives is important, as it should match the feeding habits of trout in the specific water conditions. Finally, consider the material and construction quality, as these can affect the lure's durability and performance.
When choosing the right size of trout crankbait, consider the size of the trout species you are targeting and the local forage they are feeding on. Smaller crankbaits are often effective for catching smaller trout, while larger options may attract bigger fish. Additionally, the water conditions and clarity can influence your choice; in clear water, a more subtle, smaller bait may be preferable, while in murky conditions, a larger, more vibrant crankbait can help draw attention. Experimenting with different sizes can also help you determine what works best in your specific fishing environment.
Trout crankbaits are typically made from materials such as plastic, wood, and metal. Plastic crankbaits are lightweight and often feature vibrant colors and patterns, which can attract fish effectively. Wooden crankbaits tend to provide a more natural look and sound in the water, while metal components can enhance durability and add weight for deeper dives. The choice of material can influence the bait's action, buoyancy, and overall effectiveness in various fishing conditions.
When selecting colors or patterns for trout crankbaits, consider the water conditions. In clear water, natural colors like shad or brown can be effective, as they mimic the local forage. In stained or murky water, brighter colors such as chartreuse or orange can help attract attention. Additionally, using patterns that resemble local baitfish or insects can enhance your chances of success in various environments.
The design and shape of a trout crankbait play a crucial role in determining its action in the water. A streamlined body can create a more natural swimming motion, mimicking the movement of prey, while a wider profile may produce a more erratic action that can attract fish. Additionally, the bill shape and angle influence the depth at which the crankbait dives and how it interacts with underwater structures. These factors combined help anglers effectively target trout by matching the lure's action to the fish's feeding behavior.
Trout crankbaits are effective in a variety of fishing environments, particularly in freshwater lakes, rivers, and streams where trout are commonly found. They work well in areas with structure, such as submerged rocks, fallen trees, and weed beds, as these locations often attract trout. Additionally, using crankbaits in moving water can help mimic the natural prey of trout, making them more likely to strike. Overall, these lures are versatile and can be adapted to different water conditions and depths.
To use trout crankbaits effectively, anglers should focus on varying their retrieval speed and incorporating pauses to mimic the natural movement of prey. Casting near structures such as rocks, fallen trees, or underwater vegetation can increase the chances of attracting trout. Additionally, adjusting the depth of the crankbait by selecting models designed for shallow or deep water can help target trout at different levels. Experimenting with different colors and sizes can also enhance success, as trout may respond better to certain patterns based on water conditions and time of year.
Floating trout crankbaits are designed to rise to the surface when retrieved, making them ideal for fishing in shallow waters or near the surface where trout are actively feeding. Sinking crankbaits, on the other hand, descend in the water column, allowing anglers to target deeper areas where trout may be hiding. The choice between floating and sinking options depends on the fishing conditions and the specific behavior of the trout in the area. Both types can be effective, but understanding their differences helps in selecting the right bait for your fishing strategy.
Seasonal changes can significantly influence the effectiveness of trout crankbaits. In spring, as water temperatures rise, trout become more active and are often drawn to vibrant colors and erratic movements that mimic prey. During summer, deeper water may be more productive, so using crankbaits that dive deeper can be beneficial. In fall, as trout prepare for winter, they may be more aggressive, making them more likely to strike at crankbaits that resemble their natural food sources. Winter fishing can be challenging, but using smaller, slower-moving crankbaits can still entice bites from less active trout.
