The front of the board has a beveled edge that sits at about a 40 degree angle and is lined with chalkboard material so you can use the chalk on this surface as well. Good quality cutter though the handle is not real ergonomic. The blade seems to be high quality and sharp. I would suggest to OONI to make a cutter with a wooden handle as well that this one with plastic.
