Great for beginners to camping or bushcraft and lightweight. One time the knife got jammed in the sheath, so don ’ t force it in too hard. But overall a great knife and would totally recommend.

5
Awesome knife! I bought it cause I hate sharpening knives. I have to cut ropes and nylon straps through out my work day. Its just so nice to toss the blade and install a new in a matter of seconds. The blades last long and are incredibly sharp. My one complaint/ concern is where I can buy new blades.

I have used this knife to field dress two mule deer, three whitetail, a turkey, and several grouse and rabbits. I love using this system and the ease of replacing the blades even when my fingers are bloody and half frozen. I have n't had any issues with this knife yet, and neither have my brothers. I think those complaints about it breaking must be by people who are too heavy handed or something.
5
Dave Pickle
I was unsure that this Gerber could be all that. I used this knife for the first time this weekend and I was totally amazed how this little knife worked. I have to say that using this it in the field made my field dressing a snap. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a knife that works. GET YOURSELF ONE. THANKS GERBER,

I love this knife its a really good price. and really good quality for the price would buy again and love the color if you are looking for a good starter good price knife this is it
5
I think Gerber decides to reward our loyalties ever few years when it comes out with a little GEM like this. The Zilch is a wonderful design, it's inexpensive and simple but it works. The detent works, centering is perfect, lock up is solid, no blade play, sturdy pocket clip, smooth opening and the flat ground drop point blade is awesome. No expensive handle materials or blade steel at this price point but I love carrying it all the same. I got the Red one but will probably get more in the different colors just because. I think the main comparison/competition to the Zilch would be the Dozier and the 112 Slim...... so if you like that style of knife but prefer a liner lock then maybe the Zilch is for you.
5
I wish the Zilch had been around when I was going through knifes. Very solid little knife for the money with full liner. May not be premium material, but for the price beautifully executed. I find the Zilch design both more aesthetic and functional than other knifes in its price range. I do n't know how it would hold up under the use I give a knife, but at its price it would be a tool I 'd use and replace when I broke or lost it. And I broke and lost a lot of knives that cost more. Gerber might just have the best in its class here.

i love this knife and it is such an awesome piece of art it is durable and has a lock so it does n't close when you are using it
5
I really like this knife. the handle is comfortable and the blade came from Gerber very sharp. so far it has held its edge very well and has n't required and sharpening. The knife is heavy compared to others I have at the same size but I like that substantial feeling and it is more difficult to flip compared to knives with a thumb stud but because of that the blade never gets hung up by the stud.

I recently purchased the new SCOUT Knife as a Christmas gift for my son, who has recently enlisted in the Army. This knife exceeded all our expectations. Its robust build and sleek design make it not only a practical tool but also a memorable keepsake. My son absolutely loved it! He mentioned how it brought back fond memories of our Boy Scout camping trips. This gift turned out to be more than just a piece of equipment; it sparked hours of conversation on Christmas Day, reminiscing about our past adventures and the special times we shared together. Gerber has not only delivered an outstanding product but also helped rekindle precious memories. Highly recommended for its quality and the wonderful nostalgia it brings!

5
Great knife. I 've owned it for over 3 years, and carry it every day. Once you get used to the design, opens very easily with one hand, and holds an edge very well. Thick and sturdy blade has never malfunctioned. I sharpen about every 3- 4 weeks and one drop of oil on the hinge. No complaints.
5
Honestly a really good knife. It was given to me as a door prize for a National Guard competition. At first I was n't impressed with the design, but time after time this knife has been the one I have turned to. It sharpens up to a razor edge with no trouble and holds a edge extremely well. The unusual hinge mechanism is extremely durable. Other folders' pins would have certainly loosened or altogether sheared off under the abuse I have put this knife.

Have had this knife for about 6 years, it has seen a lot of use and a lot of abuse. Have never had a single problem with it; blade still sharpens easily, action is smooth, and I have never once had to tighten a screw.
5
I bought both the Ripstop I& II and I must say I am very happy with both. Light weight, sharp, easy to use. Overall great knife for any situation.
5
I have carried this knife with me almost every day and use it 3- 5 times/day for about three years. It is easy to open and securely locks in the open position. It fits my big hands well. I have this knife in three sizes. It works well as my money clip and it really holds its edge.

Everything about this tool is perfect. From the blade to handle ratio, ambidextrous construction, lightweight glass fiber polymer, slim no nonsense design, to the firm feel of the liner lock and blade stop. the tolerance is so tight that there is no blade play out of the box. I do n't typically fall in love with a knife at first sight. However with this one I immediately had to buy it. If there was one thing I 'd change about it. I 'd have to say I 'd like to see it in an auto or spring assisted version. I 'd buy an auto pledge like time yesterday. Anyway that's my Ted talk. My favorite knife to date.
5
I got this knife on my birthday last month from my dad and I have not found one reason yet to live with out it. The Salute Mini is somewhat of a misnomer for this knife. It is a very well built, well balanced, mid- sized lockback. It has an excellent blade profile for piercing as well as slicing. Dual, bronze pivot washers are rare at this price point. Nothing was really skimped on with superb knife except maybe the bead blast finish as opposed to satin polish. I ca n't comment on the black version other than my personal preference for silver blades. You 'd be hard pressed to find better quality and value than the Salute `` Mini ''. It's a no B. S., awesome EDC.

Bought the dime to use on a fishing trip to the salmon river. Very compact, extremely useful removing hooks from fish, squeezing sinkers on line and cutting line. Takes up very little room in my wader
5
After loads of research trying to find the perfect EDC MT I found it in the Dime. The tool selection is excellent in this size of EDC. Quality is above average and I 'm sure this MT will be in my inventory for generations. I 've never owned a package opener but have to say that after discovering this device on the Dime I can now enjoy birthdays and holidays without the worry of dealing with those pesky plastic packages! I live around citrus farms and the package opener serves as an excellent peeler as well..

Awesome little tool, perfect addition to complete a EDC kit.
5
Better than the small Swiss Army knife. I use the knife blade most. All blades are adequate... Yes, one is hard to open but I never use it anyway. Just got to remember that the size has its positive as well as negative points. Easy to carry in my pocket. Not too big or bulky. Not an overwhelming blade to use for self defense( ha ha). But usually adequate for most of your needs.
5
Excellent tool. I have the blackout version. Blades are a little stiff but not that you ca n't safely open them with a fingernail, with use they are getting smoother and easier to open. Scissors are great, package owner is nice and the tweezers are actually nice in a pinch. Bottle opener works well and is great to use to hook to a Key Chain or to run a piece of 550 cord through. The split ring for going on a key chain is weak and really useless. I 'll be buying one for my wife and daughter.

Gerber keeps finding ways to improve multitools and driving the cost down. I have owned the original Suspension, so when the NXT came our with a pocket clip, I had to have it. I love the weight feel of this tool. I was surprised there is no stud on the blade for 1 hand opening. The Phillips screwdriver is long like a real screwdriver. The scissors are stubby, but usable. I 'm not fond of the wire spring. The tool feels good in my hand and has the basics. Just what I need. For the money, it's an effective value- priced tool with a real lifetime warranty.

I bought this a few months ago and it works for everything. The alignment of the handles are a bit off, but that has n't inhibited the functionality at all. All the tools work great for all sorts of things. Whether it be small crafts, projects around the house, cutting rope, or misc. hunting activities it has always come in handy. I 've enjoyed it for the price point, especially. I am getting more than what I paid for it.
5
I bought this multitool to replace a worn out ozark trail i had for years. It offers so much more than the ozark trail. A nice pocketable form factor with pocket clip. Spring loaded pliers and for the first time on a multitool I 've owned really good springloaded sizors and so much more. I never leave home without it.

I currently own the Suspension, MP600, as well as a Leatherman Signal. My primary reason for buying the NXT, was I simply wanted an EDC that was functional, and would n't weigh me down. At 6. 7 ounces, this tool weighs 25% less than my Suspension. Two things that I really like about this tool, 1. A longer cross driver that actually looks like a Phillips. 2. The opening in the combo blade that allows for easy deployment. The NXT thoughtfully comes with a pocket/belt clip, which will keep Gerber fans from complaining about their poorly made sheaths. This is a medium duty tool, after putting it through the paces, I am completely satisfied. One last pleasant surprise, this tool opens and closes, as if already broken in. Five stars Gerber, great design. I also thank you for keeping your sheath.

I have been looking for a Gerber that is easy to use and fits in my pocket. I did some research and Suspension- NXT had everything I was looking for and still not too bulky. I am very pleased with my purchase!

[ For this test I recruited my father to help me review this product! I watched him move around the kitchen as I always did ever since I was a little girl. He took time preparing steak but mostly admiring and talking about these knives and how well they worked. He was especially fond of the 8 '' chef knife and called it his favorite in the collection. Safe to say, I may not be getting my knives back anytime soon haha!

[ This 3- piece life set came in a heavy duty black case. Each knife came in a well protected, olive- green sheath for safety. Highly recommend! The knives themselves are a decent size and surprisingly, lightweight even with its sheath on. This would make an excellent man gift!

This is one of the few Gerber blades still made in the USA. I love the grip and it has good heft. It could be slightly better balanced but overall is an excellent knife. They say you get what you pay for... and this knife is worth the few extra dollars. The release on the sheath takes a little breaking in, but it is MOLLE compatible and they included a strap for drop/thigh wear. I am very satisfied and will be purchasing again as a gift.

If you prefer light weight knives then this knife is n't for you. This thing is clunky to say the least, but it's very well balanced. So far I have n't seen any sights of wear on the handle caused by taking it in and out of its sheath like some of the other reviews talked about. As for the sheath I do n't have a single negative thing to say, this thing is awesome. It came with two adjustable leg straps and unlike the gator pro machete it's 100% compatible for both right and left hand carry which is huge for lefties such as myself. Finally, with a field sharpener built into the sheath gerber thought of every thing. I did a lot of research before purchasing the LMF ii and for the money nothing else came close to having as big of a bang for your buck. I 'm sure there are better knives on the market but not for under$ 100.
