This knife is small and compact but when I am ready to cut something it never lets me down. ... The locking mechanism is great too. ... It is really light and eventually you start to master the art of closing
5
Let me be frank about this. Its one of the best knives under 20 dollers you can get.
5
I got this knife about 2 months ago and it's great. Razor sharp out of the box and it's super durable. It's got this secure feeling when you hold it. The locking mechanism is great too. It's a frame lock and is really easy to open and close.
5
I originally bought this knife at the base PX for training thinking it would be a cheap disposable. This has by far been the best knife purchase I could 've made. This knife got me through field training, serves me daily in the office, and even provided crucial help during a car accident by breaking a window and cutting through a seatbelt. If you need a knife that can do it all, I swear by this one. It's a simple and reliable tool that comes everywhere with me.
5
It is really light and eventually you start to master the art of closing it. Highly recommend, but only if you are willing to practice closing it cause it might take time to get used to.
5
This is a fantastic, cheap knife. It is easy to carry with you everyday and very practical.

[ I like the size and weight of this knife. Awesome body material is non- slip in your hand but does not stick to your pocket liner. Solid blade is heavy without being clunky. Easy one hand open, a smooth piece all around. Highly recommend for EDC.

5
i love this knife and it is such an awesome piece of art it is durable and has a lock so it does n't close when you are using it
5
I really like this knife. the handle is comfortable and the blade came from Gerber very sharp. so far it has held its edge very well and has n't required and sharpening. The knife is heavy compared to others I have at the same size but I like that substantial feeling and it is more difficult to flip compared to knives with a thumb stud but because of that the blade never gets hung up by the stud.

I recently purchased the new SCOUT Knife as a Christmas gift for my son, who has recently enlisted in the Army. This knife exceeded all our expectations. Its robust build and sleek design make it not only a practical tool but also a memorable keepsake. My son absolutely loved it! He mentioned how it brought back fond memories of our Boy Scout camping trips. This gift turned out to be more than just a piece of equipment; it sparked hours of conversation on Christmas Day, reminiscing about our past adventures and the special times we shared together. Gerber has not only delivered an outstanding product but also helped rekindle precious memories. Highly recommended for its quality and the wonderful nostalgia it brings!

I was looking for an American Made knife for daily carry that could be opened with one hand and that was slim and light. The Buck Bantam was a perfect fit for all this criteria. The price was good which made the entire purchase a good value. I can not speak to its longevity as I have not owned it that long. Ask me if I still have it a couple of years from now! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a sharp, easily carried knife for daily use.

Its a buck knife, enough said. But its lightweight, and a darker clip so not everyone sees that you have it unlike my sog. For the price, great pocket knife.

Chris
Best pocketknife I 've ever had. It's the perfect size: not too big not too small. Dual handed opening is a big plus. And it's durable too. I 've dropped this knife more than a couple of times and it's still like brand new.

[ Needed a small, more importantly LIGHT knife to pack in my 10 essentials for mountaineering. This is exactly what it needs to be. I have a SOG for more heavy duty trips but when I want to be fast and light on an alpine ascent, this is what I carry.

The Salute Mini is somewhat of a misnomer for this knife. It is a very well built, well balanced, mid- sized lockback. It has an excellent blade profile for piercing as well as slicing. Dual, bronze pivot washers are rare at this price point. Nothing was really skimped on with superb knife except maybe the bead blast finish as opposed to satin polish. I ca n't comment on the black version other than my personal preference for silver blades. You 'd be hard pressed to find better quality and value than the Salute `` Mini ''. It's a no B. S., awesome EDC.

Myself
Sorry to hear other do n't like it, but I lost my first one and am on the site to order another. The thin blade is great for my applications, I do carry a pen knife for small/precise uses and another for self defence( also a SOG). I did n't like the lock that kept it from accidently opening so I removed it with pliars. I consider adjusting the screws normal maintenance so the guy that complained it was too stiff is on him in my opintion. After a couple years of use you WILL have to tighten the screws on MOST knives, but once I had mine adjusted to preferance I have n't had to change it in a long time. I also do not like the thumb tabs as they wear a spot on my jeans so I also removed those, I might think about just grinding them down a bit on my new knife.

Bumper347
After carrying this knife for a month it has exceeded all expectations. For such a slim and light weight pocketknife it is strong, sturdy and sharp. I would consider thos a `` must have '' as an EDC or 2nd knife for 1st responders/ military. Especially great to clip I to the waistband of gym shorts or just to carry in hot weather. Wonderful product

Wood walker
This is my second one, the first one just wore out after many years of every day carry. The most comfortable and best EDC knife I have ever carried. I have carried A knife for over fifty years and this is the best. It is so thin you hardly know it is there and retains it edge for many uses before it needs honed.

I was really skeptical when I opened the package and saw how small this knife is. But it has proven to be really handy at work and abroad. The Buck reputation is well known and this little knife lives up to that reputation. This knife is perfect for just about anything that you might need to use a small blade for. Everything about this tool is perfect. From the blade to handle ratio, ambidextrous construction, lightweight glass fiber polymer, slim no nonsense design, to the firm feel of the liner lock and blade stop. the tolerance is so tight that there is no blade play out of the box. I do n't typically fall in love with a knife at first sight. However with this one I immediately had to buy it. If there was one thing I 'd change about it. I 'd have to say I 'd like to see it in an auto or spring assisted version. I 'd buy an auto pledge like time yesterday. Anyway that's my Ted talk. My favorite knife to date.

Love the Altair. My Lady lost my first one in the squid ink color so I bought a red one the next day. She has since found the first so now I have 2, and I 'm perfectly fine with that. The one handed operation is very convenient, and there is no lighter edc knife I 've found with this level of quality and performance.

I have had this style of knife for forty years and used it in all kinds of situations and all over the world. I was going to buy the exact knife and a sharpener for a young friend as she goes off to college. What a pleasant surprise to find my favorite knife with a small sharpener in a package at a great price.

This is my third Tinker knife. First one I left in a locker. Second went on 6 deployments and was great to have with me. I still have it, but lost the toothpick and it is looking pretty beat up, so when I saw one on sale with a sharpener, I just had to have it.

Awesome blade, well performing knife for all condotions. But mone is not stainless mine has rust spots forming in random spots on the blade, several on the hip clip, all over the colapsable sheeth, and some on the exteriou blade hindge. Still a nice knife though...

Have had this knife for about 6 years, it has seen a lot of use and a lot of abuse. Have never had a single problem with it; blade still sharpens easily, action is smooth, and I have never once had to tighten a screw.

I bought both the Ripstop I& II and I must say I am very happy with both. Light weight, sharp, easy to use. Overall great knife for any situation.

I have carried this knife with me almost every day and use it 3- 5 times/day for about three years. It is easy to open and securely locks in the open position. It fits my big hands well. I have this knife in three sizes. It works well as my money clip and it really holds its edge.

i have had both styles of this knife and have used them for seven years. if i lose them i go out and get a new one the same day because i use it every day

Beautiful blade and handle, need to lose the back lock and install a back flipper knob, too many steps to deploy blade, and the blade is difficult to move with the thumb knob.

Very tough light! I really like that you can just pulse the button without having to fully turn it on. The clip is tight and does loosen up. I have actually replaced my previous Coast EDC light with the Flash AT Petrol. Excellent light, and would definitely get another one.

For a decent price this is a great knife. I have issues with losing knives when they 're too small and lightweight so I wanted one that is larger. So far so good!

Bought this for my wife and she loves it. We own several SOGs and have never been disappointed. Only ever had one issue when the SOG logo plate fell out of the handle of one of them. Their customer service was excellent and sent out a new plate that I glued in. The ONLY thing that keeps the Flash AT from getting a 5 star rating in my book is that the thumb post for opening it could be slightly bigger. It ’s a little tough to get a good purchase on with my bigger thumbs and the rather sharp point actually hurts a bit when you push on it. Otherwise great daily utility knife.

Bought as a Christmas gift and it was received with glee. Stylish, if you can say that about a knife, and does what expected with ease. Only question is what do we do with what appears to be a battery?

Bought knife in 2010 the knife has great edge retention very durable perfect edc And a great camping knife I droped the knife onto concrete once and bent the tip of the blade but sharpened it good and it was good as new. it is now 2014 and I figure I have used the knife about 500+ times and only had to sharpen it about 5 times

Have had this knife for about 2 months now. It has become one of the best knifes I own for everyday use. I do n't understand why some reviews are having issues with the clip. Yeah, it's tight out of the box, but really, come guys you should know how to fix it. All you got ta do is pull it out a little bit with your fingers and you are good to go. Also, not sure what other reviews are talking about with the blade being hard to pull out. My knife, I just flick it with my wrist and `` bam '' it's out and ready for anything I put in front of it!!!
Small blade knives are versatile tools commonly used for various tasks such as camping, fishing, and everyday carry. They are ideal for precision cutting, slicing, and detailed work due to their compact size. Many users appreciate their portability, making them easy to carry in pockets or bags for quick access.
Small blade knives are often made from a variety of materials that enhance their durability and performance. Common blade materials include stainless steel for corrosion resistance and high-carbon steel for edge retention. The handles may be constructed from materials like plastic, wood, or metal, providing a comfortable grip and aesthetic appeal.
When selecting a small blade knife, consider the intended use, such as outdoor activities, everyday tasks, or specific hobbies. Look for features like blade shape, locking mechanisms, and handle comfort that suit your preferences. Additionally, think about the knife's weight and size, as these factors can affect portability and ease of use.
Folding small knives feature a blade that folds into the handle, making them compact and easy to carry, while fixed blade knives have a blade that remains exposed and typically offer greater strength and stability. Folding knives are often preferred for everyday carry due to their convenience, whereas fixed blades are favored for heavy-duty tasks and outdoor use.
Yes, small blade knives can be suitable for beginners, especially those looking for a manageable and easy-to-handle tool. Their compact size allows for better control, making them ideal for learning basic cutting techniques. However, it's important for beginners to understand proper knife handling and safety practices to ensure a positive experience.
Maintaining a small blade knife involves regular cleaning, sharpening, and proper storage to ensure longevity and performance. It's important to keep the blade free from dirt and moisture, and to sharpen it periodically to maintain its cutting edge. Additionally, storing the knife in a dry place and using protective sheaths or cases can help prevent damage.
