Bought this product for toothed fish primarily. Worked great right off the bat. Caught a 10lb baby northern pike. Handling was easy and much less stress on the fish than handling by hand alone. It grips very well and releases smooth with just the right amount of tension. As for both lanyards it comes with, it is perfect length for the corded to be attached at waist level. The magnetic one you can attach anywhere that is comfortable and easy reach that is out of the way. The magnet also is strong enough that if your within a 6 inch area of the attached magnet, it will start drawing together. Magnet is very secure with no issues of it easily detaching. It just takes a simple deliberate pull and it's ready to use. I did pick up a second one. One is attach to my spyder tackle bag to the shoulder strap attachment point and the other is attached to my fishing vest using 2 different point for ergonomics, ease of use, and out of the bloody way from fishing. It is worth every penny. Plus you can use the handle for an attachment point for a digital scale with a hook. It is light weight and easy enough to offset your scale for a accurate fish reading. The handle is ergonomic, very easy, and comfortable to use. Almost impossible not to have a secure grip while handling any fish. The size is perfect. It's not bulky. Let's make some justice to SOG PowerAccess... It is a tool, not a gadget. It works like a tool, looks like a tool and smells like a tool. It have no frills or fancy features. But all that is offered works well. Pliers are outstanding, period. Blade is good sized to work as companion for a pliers oriented tool. It is not a pocket knife, good to remember. All other tools are correct and works as expected. The lock mechanism works well. It is enough to keep the tools in place and safe, no issues on that. But the genius design is on the 1/4 bit driver. Great Tool this is the second one I have gotten. The First kind of fell apart I used it so much. But I do suggest that the little knobs that you use to open the blades up with to put some super glue on them before you use because they get loose and fall off making the blade hard to open. I also could not find replacements.

[ Went back and forth with Quark and Nomic several times. Now I finally decided that I like the Quark better than the Nomic on pure ice. I lead WI4. But even when I follow WI5, I also prefer the Quarks. Some minor annoyances. The new thing that allows the pinky rest to fold is nice for plunging, but sometimes on route, if you bang it against ice, it may accidentally fold, and you lose the pinky rest.... I do n't really like the index finger rest, and there's no good way to get rid of it.

Picked these up to ice climb in Alaska and they were fantastic. Even as a beginner with a lot of technique to learn, the axe has great weight and maintains a good balance. I was getting great sticks on the first swing routinely. I like that the axe is rated for dry tooling to allow me to use it in mixed climbing situations. Just have to grab the right picks for it. I will say that these will probably be too heavy for any extended mountain use, but for hitting technical routes outside of town it's perfect.

The Reactor is one of the best tools I 've used on pure waterfall ice when paired with the new Natural Ice picks. The tools have a perfect swing. The adjustable handles work great when changing gloves to accommodate cooler or warmer temps. Used without hammer heads in softer ice and the addition of hammer heads for boiler plate ice was perfect for penetration. I prefer the weight with the addition of the hammer heads. The angles on the shaft and pick worked flawlessly when hooking cauliflower or pulling overhanging bulges. Just love hearing that “ thuck ” every first swing.

These tools are better than I am. I upgraded from gen. 1 Quarks, which I 've used for about 15 years. These come with a learning curve. It's hard to swing them straight at first, plus I kept hitting the handle. But with practice, they place easy and secure. They 're light and have a super comfortable grip. I 've tried the Nomics and find these to be about the same, and maybe even better for my grip. It takes longer to get pumped for sure. Definitely a worthy upgrade.

[ A little difficult to get your fingers in the loops the first time but this got easier as I got used to the product. As I 'm beginning to project harder routes, i wanted a tool to further increase my grip strength while also training my antagonist muscle to help prevent injury. I used the product as intended( 3 different exercises that the box outlines) and the next day I was sore in both my flexors and extensors part of my forearm. This was the first time in a long time I experienced some real DOMS( delayed onset muscle soreness) in my forearms. Definitely a product you need to work up to though. Do n't buy this as a beginner, look to their other version if you 're a beginner with grip tools.
