Lots of light and is balanced great on the head ... I appreciate the dual fuel system and all my experience so far has been with the BD- 1800 rechargeable

I love this light. My previous Black Diamond headlamps( Spot 350 and even the previous revolt 350 to a degree) had a very focused beam( they were supposed to). This can be a bit disorienting when running creating a tunnel effect. The Sprinter 500 has a very even light across about a 120- 160 degree arc or cone, that lights up the whole trail in front and to the sides. Even at about half power, it was bright enough to comfortably run through tough terrain, lighting up stumps and rocks on the ground as well as low branches above, with plenty of warning to dodge. I did run this light a few times at full power and it is BRIGHT. At full power I received comments from oncoming runners and hikers to tone it down.( for the purpose of the headlamp, that's not a bad thing). I ca n't speak to battery life yet, although at max to medium power, it ran for at least 3 hours before hitting one blue light. According to the manual this is 10- 20%, I believe. I appreciate the dual fuel system and all my experience so far has been with the BD- 1800 rechargeable batteries. The only thing I 've noticed so far, is the two side adjustment buckles can work their way loose and it takes some practice to get and keep a snug fit. I have n't tried it without the top head strap, but it could probably work without it, at least for hiking.

this is the best headlamp. sure it is rechargable and it stays on your head and it has a back flasher if you need it. but the main thing is the light-- not harsh and pointy, it is even and warm and bright. like the day.

It is somewhat waterproof and I really like the red light feature. ... It's an attractive unit and the light lasts a good long time. ... The LED battery level indicators, also made it very easy to see if I was going to run low on

This is a great headlamp with plenty of options to mess with. The price point is a plus too! I have the 300/350/400/450 and 500R. I enjoy using the 400/450 most.

I really like the option of having rechargeable and AAA. A bit more slim then prior model, strap is also a little more slim. Not sure if I like the more slim strap but seems to compliment the unit as the unit is more slim and lighter. You can tell the brightness difference from the prior 400 model. Overall great modifications to a already awesome light!

We ’ ve had many BD headlamps and it were stoked that these feel like a true upgrade even from a few years ago. The locking features make us feel like we ’ ll keep our batteries in tacked and we are pysched on the ease of the last light function being locked as well for your favorite light style. Thanks BD for upgrading where it was needed while keeping with a simple& strong headlamp!

Excellent headlamp. Used this recently on a four day backpacking trip and found it easy to use, and easy to adjust. I did n't think I would use the tap feature to increase the brightness, but found myself using this frequently.

5 stars based on my assumption I ’ ll really like the features but honestly these reviews shouldn ’ t even be available till a year later. I have another black diamond head lamp and needed a back up. This one will be my primary. My old one was rock solid and based on what I ’ ve seen so far this one will be too. Love being able to lock in settings( i. e. red light and light level). Just pay the slight bump and get the light with this feature.

I chose this headlamp because it had the option of a rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack hasn ’ t come in the mail yet but I am very excited to use it. Just have that flexibility of AAA ’s or recharge is a huge plus for me. If I ’ m going on a long trip where I ’ ll have a solar charger with me to recharge it. This model doesn ’ t have a red mode which is kind of a bummer but I knew that when I bought it so it wasn ’ t a big deal to me.

Super bright for around camp, hiking, or climbing. Love the lock out feature I ’ ve never seen another headlamp with it, so it doesn ’ t accidentally turn on it you backpack.

I purchased two to replace a pair for upcoming AT and Grand Canyon hikes. These are very bright and dimmable in both standard and red. The build is solid and I like the ability to use AAA batteries or a rechargeable pack. Looking forward to many miles of use.

This is an awesome headlamp. I like that you can put batteries in or a Black Diamond rechargeable battery. This light is bright and compact. I would buy it again.

Great headlamp for the price. Super bright, easy to use and very lightweight so it does n't bounce while running

The Cosmo 350 is much smaller and lighter than the model I was using previously. The snap closure makes replacing the batteries easy, and the option to use a rechargeable battery is a great improvement from the company.
A headlamp with a strobe feature is primarily used for signaling or enhancing visibility in low-light conditions. This feature can be particularly useful in emergency situations, allowing users to attract attention or alert others to their presence. Additionally, the strobe function can be beneficial for outdoor activities such as hiking or biking, where visibility is crucial.
The strobe feature enhances safety by providing a high-visibility signal that can be seen from a distance. This can be especially important in situations where you may need to alert others or signal for help. The flashing light can also help you remain visible to passing vehicles or other outdoor enthusiasts, reducing the risk of accidents.
Yes, headlamps with strobe features are versatile and can be used for a variety of outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, running, and cycling. The added visibility from the strobe function makes them particularly useful in low-light conditions or during nighttime activities. However, it's important to consider the specific needs of your activity when choosing a headlamp.
When selecting a headlamp with a strobe feature, consider factors such as brightness, battery life, and comfort. Look for models that offer adjustable brightness settings and a comfortable fit, as these will enhance usability during extended wear. Additionally, check for water resistance and durability to ensure the headlamp can withstand various outdoor conditions.
Yes, using the strobe feature can impact battery life, as it typically consumes more power than steady light modes. It's important to consider how often you plan to use the strobe function versus regular lighting modes. Many headlamps offer different settings to help manage battery life effectively, allowing users to switch between modes as needed.
