I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in- bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you 're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.

Good winter and low temp jacket. Its longer and a tad baggy/active since its made for riding, so take your normal size and layer underneath for really cold days. It's super comfortable and will keep you warm and dry. Hood is definitely a little too Raph, it's made for riding with a helmet on, so its too big for casual wear but I knew that would be the case for any snowboard jacket so it does n't bother me.

I just got this jacket, but by first impressions of use... WOW! This thing is exactly what I wanted. I have a shell for warmer days but had to bundle too many layers to stay warm on those cold days. I run very hot while skiing, I get to the bottom and need to strip or open all my layers to not overheat. This jacket gives you breathability while carrying the insulation that keeps you warm on the chair up. Literally the only thing that could be improved is the size of the armpit ventilation. Like I mentioned above I run hot so I would have enjoyed more airflow when I open the vents. But that tiny detail is the only thing I can find at fault and it's more of a personal preference. Bravo Mountain Hardwear!

[ Very happy with this jacket after four days of skiing in variable conditions. Here are the key attributes: 1. Warmth- it's pretty warm; not the warmest imaginable jacket but I can easily get away with a thin base layer in 30 degree conditions. When the temp plummeted to zero I wore a couple heavier base layers and was still comfortable. I love the ample coverage over your chin and mouth, which provides great wind protection on top of your balaclava. 2. Coverage- Jacket does a great job sealing in the elements with hardy and easy- to- use velcro straps at the wrists, a powder skirt, and a functional hood that fits around a size L helmet without constraining my neck. 3. Pockets galore! And they are big. Only a couple slight issues:- water- proof zippers were a bit hard to open or close the first time I wore the jacket, which was zero- degree weather. I did n't notice the issue later on when the weather warmed up.- the cuffs do n't mesh too well with my gauntlet- style mitts, especially if I 'm layered up a lot underneath. Basically both the jacket and mitts seems to want to be on the outside.

I 've been in love with the Eco- Shell material for a couple of years now! I originally purchased the Ovik Eco- Shell Parka and then decided upgraded to the Keb about a year ago for a more adventure friendly fit. The shell is really stretchy and breathable, and it really does n't compromise the waterproofness. I 've used this all seasons and it has held up so nicely against both the wind and the wet. I wear my Keb Eco- Shell for a range of activities but predominantly for bike commuting and backcountry skiing. The Eco Shell fabric is stretchy, more breathable and most importantly more environmentally friendly than Goretex. The only pockets being on the chest takes a little while to get used to but is actually a preferential design feature for activity. You don ’ t have to worry about the contents of your pockets jabbing into your sides during every pedal stroke or step on the skin track. One of my favorite features is the large hood that fits over a bike helmet or ski helmet. This prevents the wind from sneaking down your neck on those cold windy days. It fits a bit looser so a light padded jacket will fit underneath with ease( see keb padded hoodie). The double zipper is also awesome to aid in ventilating or accessing pockets from underneath layers.

Really good quality shell, with no PFC's! I have had TNF's versions a couple of times and honestly, they break down so quick, that it's impossible to get any long term use out of it. The colors are limited, but the plum color I found is fine for me and my purpose. I like the chest pockets, these are handy when I have a pack on, and need some storage, and as I would love hand pockets, I honestly prefer having the ventilation instead, besides, who can walk with their hands in their pockets while hiking, I am afraid I will fall and need my hands out to protect my face! So far, so good. I have n't used this for long or in harsh or technical conditions yet, but so far I can see that this is going to be a great purchase. The fabric is more flexible than the previous version of the Eco- Shell. I am not as crazy about the flexible visor on the hood, though I can see how it could come in handy to have the ability to adjust it. I really like the bottom button to allow airflow. I would prefer if Fjallraven put the cinch adjusters that are on the waistband closer to the front so you do n't get a bulge on the sides, but these are minor quibbles. This is a quality jacket that delivers in both form and function.
