The new Frontier Ultralight Cook set is a brilliant redesign in the Sea to Summit line up. As an alpine climber, I obsess over both weight and space savings and this new cook set checks both boxes. I paired the cook set with a jet boil Mighty Moe and compared it to my `` go to '' MSR reactor kit with Sea to Summit cup and bowl. The Frontier Ultralight cook set weights in at 20 grams heavier than the MSR however, it provides 2 cups, 2 bowls, and a 2. 2 liters pot. It also seems to pack better in a rucksack which is critical when trying to jam everything into a smaller rucksack. The space and weight savings when considering two people, is definitely making this new cook set my `` go to '' for summer adventures!

Upon receiving the 6 piece Sea to Summit Frontier Cook Set – everything about it suggests top quality. The packaging is robust and signifies that high quality gear is within. I took set on a 3 day/2 night kayak camping trip I was leading for a group of 11 people. I shared the kit with the group to get their impressions as well. At less than 2 lbs( 1lb 13oz) this set offers a very high value for the weight being carried. Admittedly, this was a kayak camping trip, so weight is not that big of a factor, volume is more important. The set fit easily within my kayak. The new Click- Safe handle design is brilliant although some people seemed to struggle with it at first. It is actually really simple to use and really makes the pot feel like a one- piece pot – super sturdy. The 2L and 3L sizes give you plenty of flexibility to prepare just about anything in the wilderness. While the strainer lids are becoming standard on outdoor cookware, they are integral to the frontier lids and worked really well for draining pasta. The addition of the Sea to Summit Frontier Ultralight Pan would make this a comprehensive cook set. The pots cooked food nicely and seemed to have good heat distribution. I used the 3L to mix a cake mix that I was baking in a dutch oven and used a metal wisk to mix it. There were no marks at all on the inside of the pot – suggesting a very robust no- stick coating that will not scratch easily. The inclusion of two nice bowls and covered cups is really nice. We used both the bowls and the cups on this trip. Although very light, they are sturdy and were easy to hold with hot food in them. The spill proof lids on the cups are a nice feature and the cups did well for both morning coffee and evening wine. One comment/observation a number of people had( including the author) was that it would be nice if the set came in a bag( mesh or otherwise) to protect the outside of the 3L pot. The other comment I received from a few people is it was a little hard to see the graduation numbers inside the pot( maybe make them bigger for the next generation?). All in all, this is a fantastic set that will delight the outdoor chef. It is well thought out and the new Click- Safe handle design is a winner – really makes it feel like a solid one piece pot. A thought on a bag – maybe Sea to Summit could list the recommended Ultra- Sil or Big River dry bag size as part of the product description? Thanks again Sea to Summit for manufacturing well thought out, high quality gear!

[ I wasn ’ t expecting this to be so light! Even with all the pieces in the pot it is still really light. This doesn ’ t take long to heat up and it cooks pretty evenly from what I can tell. I only tried soup in it so far. It wasn ’ t hard for me to clean it afterwards because it was just soup. I do think other things will be tougher. The handle is a little hard to take off in my opinion. I ’ d worry about older people or people with fragile or weak hands being able to do it. Overall I ’ d recommend this.

I have purchased and used Mountain House food for many situations including hiking, camping and emergencies such as power outages caused by weather. This is my go to food because it has good storage life, lightweight and convenient to prepare. I find the taste and texture to be as good as it gets when fresh foods are not as reliable or available. I ’ ve taken on long and high adventure camping such a being flown into a lake in Alaska and left for a week or more and the weight of a weeks amount of food limits other alternatives. Also easy to have available for quick trips where the food source may be uncertain. I keep some on hand for potential emergencies such as being with out electricity after a devastating storm. It gives me good peace of mind and one less thing to worry about for day trips hiking or hunkered down for bad weather. I also like the taste of all entries I ’ ve used including the Alfredo and I believe Mountain House to have the most consistent product with a huge variety. I ’ m glad Mountain House has been has committed to consistency, variety and high quality. I highly recommend for outdoor camping, hiking etc and also for its nice long shelf life so as to not having to worry about waiting for an emergency whereby potentially you can not get to a store or the store is out. This is a five star standard product by which others are compared to. And there ’s lots of products that would like to be a competitor. Highly recommend for all the above reasons.

Puppers currently has the Rtic and it has a rubber ring on bottom and water ends up inside the bowl from the water splashing as he drinks and it smells bad and cant get all the water out.. Yeti paint was flaking off so replaced with rtic and looking into a second set of Stanley bowls to replace the Rtic ones. These have been the best bowls yet.

Mexican Style Adobo Rice and Chicken is one of my favorites. If cooked properly, the chicken can be a as succulent as made from home. I bought the 3 cup Stanley pet bowl as a water bowl and my little dogs love it. It is the right size for them and it keeps their water cool and fresh. It is a breeze to clean. It is heavy and sturdy enough thanks to its stainless steel material to keep it in place and not sliding around when they drink from the bowl. The lid can be used under the bowl to keep it in place or as a cover when traveling. Great design and excellent product. I will be buying another one when they are restocked. I had my doubts about this one admittedly. They were assuaged however after trying this on a hunting trip. The biscuit pieces had the texture of a fresh biscuit that had soaked a little while in gravy. The sausage crumbles added a nice flavor and texture to the gravy. The gravy taste- wise was on pair with fast food or buffet style gravy, not homemade but also serviceable. The gravy was creamy though it did n't look it. My only want was a piece more pieces of biscuit in there for the amount of gravy. I may have accidentally added a hair more water than the recommended 3/4 cup as my pot only had a marking at one cup. I eyeballed the amount of water to leave it the pot and may have missed it.

I tried this one out while ate work last week. It was good, however I 'm not as much into spicy food. I do like regular chicken buffalo wings, but ONLY buffalo wings, not the tenders. So, I think that was the only drawback on my end, and that's a personal preference, not a knock against the product. The product was exactly what it claimed to be. My manager quizzed me on what I was eating, and even HE had to admit that it was a good product to be free from a lot of chemicals and last as long as it does!

Very good taste! Pretty excited when I saw this new flavor and immediately ordered some. The taste is excellent, if you like hot sauce on anything you ’ ll like this. The first time we fixed it we use the exact amount of water called for on the package. In my opinion it was a little too much, the second time we didn ’ t use quite as much water and the sauce thickened up quite well. Every time we ’ ve eaten this the macaroni noodles reconstitute perfectly. I was very excited to add this flavor to our supply. I would definitely recommend it if you like buffalo chicken wings it ’s just a great taste.
