I wear them as daily shoes and they have excellent traction in all the wet and slick spots that are pretty common this time of year. They ’ re very breathable shoes, so much so that my feet have been getting a little cold when wearing them outside in the frigid temps here in the midwest. That being said, the memory foam in insoles of the shoes make these super comfortable on my feet when I ’ m going for walks and little treks around the neighborhood. [ Im on my third pair and these have been a great `` in between '' shoe. The stiffness and stability is right in the middle of a lightweight trainer and the other adidas hiking shoes. The goretex and big soft tread are great when walking the dog through deep and wet grass. And the weight is close enough to a trainer to still make them practical for travelling or other walking activities. Compared to other adidas running shoes they are a little more roomy for thicker socks but not enough to size down.

My orthotics fit in these perfectly. Without my orthotics the shoes rubbed against my ankle, but the inserts lifted my heel just enough so that was not an issue anymore. [ I used to be a loyal fan of New Balance 940s, and then they got discontinued. I bought a couple online before they all disappeared, and then I finally wore them all out. I could n't find any other shoe in New Balance, Asics, Brooks that had similar stability, arch support and cushioning. It was disconcerting. I had a total knee replacement a few years ago, so all these new foam sneakers that allow the back/heel of the shoe to rotate laterally are not good for me. I finally decided I had to come up with a new approach to finding a sneaker. I saw these sneakers and thought, hey! If this is for trail running, then it's got to be made with better stability. I gave it a shot and was so pleasantly surprised! These sneaks have good arch support and have cushion that seems resilient vs. the cheap foam in a lot of new sneakers that just compress. There is good stability to prevent your foot from rotating side to side in the heel. I walk my dog at a fast pace 2x per day every day for about 30 minutes each, so I put on miles pretty quickly. Seems to be holding up pretty well! The logo is a bit large for my taste, but that's just cosmetic. The only thing that's a little odd is the material, which seems like maybe it's less breathable in the toe box area vs. the average sneaker. However, I ca n't really tell because it's still cold out, so when it gets warmer I 'll have a better idea of that. Overall, pleasantly surprised and very happy to put them on my feet every day!

[ I ordered these shoes as a gift for my birthday. When they arrived the fit was quite literally the best fit for a shoe out of the box I ’ ve ever had in my entire life. I say this because I have wide feet and the wide fit was perfect for my “ duck ” feet. I really enjoyed the bounce in my step, too, from the insole cushion. Plus, water just rolls off the exterior like beads. This shoe would ’ ve gotten five stars had it not been for the weak tie string loops at the top of the shoelaces. After a couple of months lacing up the shoes normally, one of the shoelace tie loops broke off. Pictures attached. Really disappointed this happened when the shoes passed every other test. Just imagine how inconvenient this would have been had this happened on the trial. Fortunately, I got them fixed but this really should never happen for shoes this expensive. Columbia will need to make it better so this doesn ’ t happen on the next pair. Finally the bright blue laces are a bit jarring and would recommend black laces as an alternative.

[ Searched around a lot. Bought these because my husband has Vasques and loves them. They ’ re comfy so far( just worn around the neighborhood and a couple short 1- 2 mile hikes). Grip seems good. I wore them in some slush/ice and had no issues. I think they ’ re really attractive. Was worried that the white sole would stain easily and look junky, but so far it ’s been fine. Haven ’ t been in mud yet though. I gave the comfort 4 stars because there ’s a spot where the upper was rubbing when I was breaking them in. It ’s gotten better and I imagine it will go away once they ’ re fully broken in. I ’ m also not used to having that much ankle coverage, so it could be that that ’s affecting me.

[ I bought these a few weeks back and they are perfect. They ’ re sturdy, but with enough flex that it doesn ’ t feel like you ’ re wearing a tank on your foot! And, the color is nice, too! Highly recommended for all hiking terrain as the sole is sticky and solid. My favorite boot, by far!!

[ This is my second pair Vasque breeze hikers. I love them and they took almost no time to break in. So comfortable! The only reason I didn ’ t give a five is because I had to get a replacement pair after one of the hooks snapped apart while hiking 1 month after I bought them. Hopefully this was just a fluke as my first pair were awesome and very durable.

[ I needed a new pair of shoes for walking/light hiking on paved, gravel and dirt paths. The soles of my Hokas were worn out and I was never completely satisfied with the fit. Although I had been frustrated with the last two pair of Columbia OutDry light hiking shoes I had a few years ago as the waterproofing stopped working after a few months, I thought I 'd give this model a try. So far so good. It's good looking shoe, very lightweight and plenty of cushioning. The first time I wore them they were comfortable all day and have remained so. I ca n't give them five stars yet as I have n't had them long enough to see how the waterproof feature works.

[ Been wearing the Vasque breeze since 2016 and never had a blister in this boot. Quality is good, never had an issue. The only thing that wears is the tread which is to be expected from normal wear and tear and backpacking in extremely rocky conditions. Would recommend. I won ’ t wear anything else.

I have been buying the breeze boot for about 20 years now. I would agree that the laces need to be a bit longer so you can double tie them. On zappos web site they advertise that the 7742 has gore tex lining and vibram soles, you might want to check on that one. Other than that the boots are really comfortable.

I 've been through many iterations of the Vasque Breeze, for hiking, search/rescue, and everyday wear. I 'm now looking for a new pair of the 7742, but I see much to my disappointment that the outer sole is no longer Vibram. The part number is the same, but the sole is n't. I wo n't bet my life on anything other than Vibram, so that's the end of the Breeze for me. RIP.

These shoes are great. Very comfortable, especially in the toe box area. I am typically a size 9 or 9. 5 and these fit great in a 9. It took me a bit to get used to the laces but now I love the slider on the laces.
