[ This was with me for a week long backpacking trip. It held ample water even with the baffles in place to allow it to fit my pack's water reservoir sleeve better. This thing never leaked on me and paired nicely with my Sawyer mini and the hanging system in my pack. It was easy to fill with water in a few swift scoops and locked up nicely after filling. The only thing to be cautious of is avoiding any sort of air/water locks in it by filling it up before it gets totally drained.

I spend a lot of time in the backcountry and had to make an emergency purchase of the shape shift 3L at a local store after my older one( different company) started leaking. I really like that it has baffles that helps with the sloshing around when it ’s not all the way full, or that you can open up the baffles to allow even more water into the reservoir. Plus I am thrilled that you can turn it inside out and stick it on the top rack of the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Unfortunately, my very first time taking it out on the mountain mine developed a hole at the top of the reservoir. I don ’ t know if this way due to it having a pressure point by the way it sat in my pack, me setting my pack down to roughly, or a manufacturer defect. Regardless, I filled out the warranty claim( I figured it was worth a shot) and within 24hrs I had a response letting me know my claim was accepted, and within 48hrs I had a new reservoir being shipped to me. Great customer service speaks volumes to me, and they went above and beyond what most companies are willing to do! Now with all that being said the Shape Shift was the only 3L one in the store with no other options, and I was leaving that day for a trip so I was desperate. After seeing all of Hydrapak ’s other products I think the HydraSleeve 3L would be a better all around option for me.

[ I purchased this bladder for a friend who was heading to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. A similar bladder came with her Osprey pack but she needed another bladder so we could add the tube insulation so her water would not freeze in the tube portion that extended from the pack itself. She ended up using this new bladder with the tube insulation to keep her water warm on the upper portions of the mountain and cool at the lower altitudes. Hydration pack is well made and super lite. Great for day hikes over long distances and can hold quite a bit of water and accessories for a small pack. The only thing that could be considered a drawback is the closure for the water bladder can slip off when the bladder is completely full. But as long as you are careful putting it in the pack then it is fine.

These do wear out with heavy usage and have to be replaced once they start the mysterious slow leak, in which water escapes into the backpack with no discernible source. I 'm glad to see the straw redesign because the plastic bent on the last one, which I did n't like. However, they 're great for hiking hydration in a light pack that keeps my hands free. I purchased this last spring for my motorcycle trip from Spring Branch, TX up to the Arctic Circle in Alaska and back. It performed flawlessly for the whole 31 days and 11, 525 miles on the back of my MoskoMoto panniers. Such a good bag, 100 oz of water is 4x my large yeti and the bag still has so much room I fit in an additional shoulder bag, snacks, some accessories and some green, and still had the half of the largest pouch not taken up by the water pouch. Bag is comfortable and stylish. Reservoir for water is incredibly well thought out and comes apart easily and in enough places that making sure the pack is dry after use is a breeze. Nice quality straps, small footprint and breathable materials means your back isn ’ t burning up. Completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few weeks ago. Out of 8 people in our group there were 5 of us wearing Osprey packs. I had the Scarab 30 and loved it. We hiked in sun and rain, hot and cold, through wood and over rock fields. This pack was on my back every day every step of the way. The bladder was full with an extra bottle of water on the side at the waist belt and the bag was full with essentials for weather swap outs and everything i needed to get from A to B and survive without my big duffel. It never chafed my shoulders or waist, felt great on my back and did n't sweat me up by allowing air to flow around it. It was exactly the right choice. The design of the bladder makes it very easy to fill and shove back in its home. the only thing i would change or add would be a cover over the drinking port. We were dropping our packs in a lot of places, on trails in Tea houses, coffee houses and different temples, everywhere and the drinking port always ended up on the ground. If budget is no object- then this is the filter to buy. I also have the Sawyer Gravity system which costs 4x cheaper. Not just a mere filter, it is a also purifier- and the carbon filter is the icing on the cake and makes the filtered water pleasant tasting. Everything about the package is pure premium. MSR did not skimp on the components and it looks and feel as expensive as it actually is. Operating is easy. Long term storage is a bit tedious- it is a 1 hour procedure- but I do n't mind doing to ensure tip top performance and longevity. I know some complain about the flow rate. I never measured- I mean between the claimed 2 mins to reputedly slower 2m30secs in the field.. it is rather irrelevant to me for my use. Which is base camp use where I wont be moving for days. Part of enjoying the outdoors is the being calm about everything and 10L filtered water that comes about a few mins late, is a non- issue for me. And it is really great to produce so much filtered water for camp use effortlessly AND it is supercomforting to know that it is( if the claims are to be believed) the only filter to meet military grade specifications. That seems overkill for me but then why not! Downsides: long term storage and PRICE. This filter is insanely priced.

It's just a great and reliable system. Even my kids can use it. We are a family of 5 who go camping with friends and we need a lot of water often we use 70 liters on a weekend. With the gravity system we never run out of water and the system does not require attention so it's very good for camping with small kids.

I purchased this filter two years ago for big group and family trips. This year my wife and I took our two kids on an 11- day trip on the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainer. The filter performed great, even in dried- up silty/tea- stained lakes. At first, I thought this filter was overkill- many people use squeeze bottle- style filters. Though having to make water for the four of us over 11 days, I was happy I did. Most days, I was filtering around 20 liters of water per day. We filtered into a separate 10l bladder so anyone could quickly fill the cook pot, bottle, or brush teeth. When stowed, the filter, dirty water bag, and extra balder are chunky. However, the weight is negligible once you put this into the group gear pile that gets divvied up between the party. It was consistent with other group gear items in size and weight- rainfly, first- aid kit, stove and fuel, etc. Lastly, the flow rate is brought up on this filter. The filter works great if you hang it high and routinely flush the system. At the end of each season I 've owned this, I `` winterize '' the filter by following the disinfecting directions supplied with the filter. This extra step makes a big difference in the overall performance of the filter.

[ This pack was a long day hike upgrade for me and I chose it for 2 reasons. First was the Airspeed suspension which definitely keeps your back cool. Second was longer torso length. Along with all of the compression straps this a very comfortable and balanced pack. The stuff it pocket was an afterthought but is actually very handy. Extremely pleased with this purchase!

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. I have two other Osprey packs and love the women- specific features. I bought this Sirrus for casual hiking and walking to town for groceries and other supplies. I got the right fit after watching a Youtube that showed that the hipbelt pad in front should be centered over the pelvic bone- not above it as I had incorrectly done. The torso adjustment `` ladder '' is a nice feature. I am 5' 7 '' and measured my torso at 15. 6 '', and found the second shortest adjustment to work the best at keeping the shoulder straps from riding up. This is really a comfortable and well fitting pack for me.

Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. Only complaint is the water bottle pocket- it ’s very difficult to get a 1. 5 liter Nalgene in and out when the pack is full.

I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. Lots of pockets, I especially like the double pockets in the lid for sorting small stuff.

I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint- specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. I 've been using my Zulu 65 for the past few months... some late summer& fall backpacking trips and winter river trip. It's one of the most comfortable packs I 've used before, and it has great pockets for side gear and wallet/phone/keys access. I 've used it for one to three day backpacking trips and it's been perfect. I plan on putting it to the test for a week trip coming up soon. Gregory just makes solid packs!

[ I am pretty impressed with this pack. I have a few very high end hunting packs and they always seem to cut off some hip circulation. With a 3 night off trial campsite this pack was fantastic! I was skeptical but this pack performed very well. I really liked the U- zip access, huge hip pockets, and the side pockets that I can grab a waterbottle from while wearing the pack. A couple of things I did n't like: those huge hip pockets left no room for a bear spray holster, there is no way for the lid to double as a separate pack for little jaunts from camp, and the hip belt was maxed tight on my 34 '' waist in the Med/LG frame choice. I could get the waist belt tight enough but if I stopped eating cookies...
