The bar is easy to attach and take off for quick changes while exercising. My 11 year old son works out with me and it is even easy for him to make quick changes in height to the bar. It is secure and will not come off accidentally while doing pulling exercises like inverted rows. The diamond __quote__knurling__quote__ make it secure even though we still use chalk, but it feels good on the hands and is not at all abrasive. So it wont tear up your hands. I did spend on my normal Olympic bar but got this one to save money and get skull crushers in. First thing I did was a practice curl and noticed the noise. Shot some Blaster into the gaps on each end( pic) and no more squeak. Definitely glad I did n't pay more for this type of item.
