Love this bar! I like the 36 '' length. It is more versatile than my much shorter X3 bar, which I paid$ 500 for. It's also short enough to work out in tight spaces and breaks apart to fit in a suit case. I use it with my tube bands and my pilates reformer. Great bar. The plate holders on each end of the bar are solid, instead of the two- piece screw- together type on cheaper bars. And the plate holders mount to the bar with good bearings that move smoothly during cleans. The bar weighs 45lbs with collars, but collars did not come with this bar. I 've only had the bar for a few weeks, and the other two Olympic bars I 've had I did not buy new. But so far I am happy with this bar and have no regrets. Oh, the bar did not arrive with end- caps on it to cover the assembly nuts, but those caps always seem to pop out during workouts anyway, so I did n't mind.

I like this original Hex Bar much better than the bigger version because it takes up way less space with the 10 inch sleeves rather than 16 or more. The knurling is perfect and I love the 25mm grip plus the rigged sleeves so the plates do n't fall off easily when the bar is maxed out on weight. Some critics will complain that you ca n't add more than 500 pounds or so with 10 '' sleeves but unless you 're a strength athlete that weighs 250 or more I do n't see the need.

My gym's DBs max- out at only 125 pounds each, so I bring these little guys in my Training Bag and put up to 8 45- pound Olympic Plates on each to do Extremely Heavy Bent 1- Armed DB Rows at 360 pounds. Shopped around for some farmer carry bars and what drew my attention to these besides the great price was the knurled grips that I did n't see most if not all of the others. I ordered them on a Friday and they were delivered on Wednesday. The packaging was in good shape and there were no flaws in the finish of the bars. The bars weighed in at 22. 2lbs each on my bathroom scale. There is 12 '' of sleeve length which will allow for plenty of weight. They came with 4 spring collars which is a good thing because standard spring collars are too big. But less than standard olympic sleeve diameter seems to be the norm with all these carry bars. I did find that my hex collars will also work on them, just not as tight as on an Olympic bar. I 'm very happy with the purchase and ca n't wait to try them out.

I used one of these in my early 20s and I weighed 170 pounds at 5/7 inches tall and I got to the point that I could lift 300 pounds off the floor and over my head with ease. I am now 48 and have started lifting again and after two weeks I can see huge difference in my biceps and triceps. these are great for a good pool work out. they are a bit `` heavy ''( more floatation) but you can use slower movements or keep them more shallow for less of resistance, and move them faster or push them further under water( or do both actions at the same time) for more resistance. they seem to be holding up well so far but I have not had them for very long. hopefully they will continue to hold up in my 3 times a week hour long pool class at the gym.
