Packed securely and shipped quickly, it arrived within a couple of days in perfect condition. It's well made and just what I needed. Two issues- one, as another reviewer commented, the bar comes with what I assume is an anti- rust coating that's a little messy to remove. It would be nice if some instructions came for that. Maybe there were and I just did n't see them. And two- the clerk who took the order told me my email address would be used only to communicate regarding the order. Now a day does n't pass without multiple emails from Dick's and they drive me nuts. I 've gone through the unsubscribe process twice to no avail.

There is a perfect amount of knurling( not to passive and not to aggressive). The chrome finish and black coating also feely extremely well made. But I was hesitant to order the Body Solid bar because the reviews for the 5ft bar indicated it was covered with an oily/sticky coating that was difficult to remove. I was greatly relieved that was not the case. It was wrapped in plastic inside a hard cardboard tube. Quick and easy to unpack. Both the Olympic bar/bumper plates totally fit my requirements. I 've been using this bar for several days now, and I have to say, it's a really great bar and is holding up to snatching/jerking overhead and dropping it just fine. The sleeves spin very nicely, the diameter( 28mm) is great for hook gripping with smaller hands like mine, and the knurling is differential. The knurling on the inner portion is less aggressive and gets very aggressive on the outer portion. This is a phenomenal bar, especially for the price. The only thing I would change is to add a center knurl.

I bought this in March at the start of the pandemic and did n't expect much. I bought what I could get at the time. I wo n't say it's as good as higher end bars but it's less than half the price. I promise you wo n't find a better$ 150 bar anywhere. The diameter is IWF standard 28 mm, the weight is accurate and the knurling is satisfactory. The only place you might notice an advantage with some better bars is in the spin. Especially if you do Olympic lifts and the bar is fully rotating. I 've read some reviews that users have had rust issues, I have not in my basement. I 've loaded up to 505 on the bar and it has performed well. It is a bit stiff but I would rather an inexpensive bar be stiff than flex to much. Great value.

I love that the plates are removal and you can use them as their own separate weight. My only complain would be that the bar itself is a bit hard when doing hip thrusts, but to counter that I just use a towel and wrap it around the bar as much as possible, that seems like the best solution in my opinion.

I like this original Hex Bar much better than the bigger version because it takes up way less space with the 10 inch sleeves rather than 16 or more. The knurling is perfect and I love the 25mm grip plus the rigged sleeves so the plates do n't fall off easily when the bar is maxed out on weight. Some critics will complain that you ca n't add more than 500 pounds or so with 10 '' sleeves but unless you 're a strength athlete that weighs 250 or more I do n't see the need.
