Great jacket for those of us living in the Southeast US. was able to wear comfortably down to around 50 degrees F with only a lightweight cotton flannel shirt underneath. You can go much colder if you have a suitable insulation or base layer underneath. I bought in dusk for a classic style yet unique colorway that stands out among your standard olive or khaki surplus jackets. The G1000 softens up a bit with wear. Supposedly water resistant, but I would caution against wearing if more than a light sprinkle is in the forecast.

I wear this on my windshieldless moto going 70- 89 mph and it does the job on windblocking. When it rained, it keep deflecting rain. I wear a merino thermal, my casual, moto protective shirt, and my thermal heated liner, which I do n't have to turn on the heated liner at these temps because of the windblocking and having gear insulate the heat inside. I love this field jacket; my favorite jacket. I want to buy a more expensive jacket here, but this one was beautiful to pass up. Its big for sure for my 5' 5 stature at Medium, but I have full range of motion with all my gear on underneath and that's awesome. Buy it! worth it!

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

The poly insulation is just thick enough without being bulky, and plenty warm. I run hot, so this is great for me. I live in a wet climate, so water resistance is important. When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. At 5' 2 '' I was a little concerned this jacket would swallow me up, but the fit it perfect and the thing I most love is the belt. It creates a nice silhouette. [ This jacket is warm but not super puffy which I like. The length is perfect for keeping your butt warm but not long enough to limit your stride. The extended cuffs with thumb holes keep cold air out. Pockets are nice and deep with zippers. I bought the Lawernce Jacket and matching pants in Alpine Green and when I wear them together I get asked if I work for the forestry service so maybe I should have gone for another color. It's a great jacket with lots of pockets in the right spot. I appreciate the cell phone leash and the goggle whips built in. It would be nice if the front zipper pull was a bit bigger or had a cord on it to make zipping up with gloves on easier like the pocket zippers have. And the collar could be a bit roomier to Zip up when wearing a neck gator.

[ Been riding in rain and snow on single track trails from 50 down to 10 degrees. I use it as my outer layer. The side vents work great for letting out heat. Been using for about 6 months now and no problems. Quality jacket.

[ I 've been a fan of Showers Pass rain gear for a long time, and this jacket is just my most recent edition. Very thoughtfully designed with MTB in mind. The vents keep you cool when working hard. The detachable hood is a great option, once you figure out where to stash it so it does n't get lost. The sleeves cinch up just right so you can regulate air flow or totally lock it out. The reinforced shoulders are great for those long days out on the mountain. I 'd read in one review that it is n't packable, but I 've been able to fit my medium into a fanny pack no problem. Last, the attached microfiber cloth for lens cleaning is super useful. My chest size suggested a small would work, and it did fit my chest, but my arm length needed the medium. The jacket fits trim and is not too baggy.
