Upon receiving the 6 piece Sea to Summit Frontier Cook Set – everything about it suggests top quality. The packaging is robust and signifies that high quality gear is within. I took set on a 3 day/2 night kayak camping trip I was leading for a group of 11 people. I shared the kit with the group to get their impressions as well. At less than 2 lbs( 1lb 13oz) this set offers a very high value for the weight being carried. Admittedly, this was a kayak camping trip, so weight is not that big of a factor, volume is more important. The set fit easily within my kayak. The new Click- Safe handle design is brilliant although some people seemed to struggle with it at first. It is actually really simple to use and really makes the pot feel like a one- piece pot – super sturdy. The 2L and 3L sizes give you plenty of flexibility to prepare just about anything in the wilderness. While the strainer lids are becoming standard on outdoor cookware, they are integral to the frontier lids and worked really well for draining pasta. The addition of the Sea to Summit Frontier Ultralight Pan would make this a comprehensive cook set. The pots cooked food nicely and seemed to have good heat distribution. I used the 3L to mix a cake mix that I was baking in a dutch oven and used a metal wisk to mix it. There were no marks at all on the inside of the pot – suggesting a very robust no- stick coating that will not scratch easily. The inclusion of two nice bowls and covered cups is really nice. We used both the bowls and the cups on this trip. Although very light, they are sturdy and were easy to hold with hot food in them. The spill proof lids on the cups are a nice feature and the cups did well for both morning coffee and evening wine. One comment/observation a number of people had( including the author) was that it would be nice if the set came in a bag( mesh or otherwise) to protect the outside of the 3L pot. The other comment I received from a few people is it was a little hard to see the graduation numbers inside the pot( maybe make them bigger for the next generation?). All in all, this is a fantastic set that will delight the outdoor chef. It is well thought out and the new Click- Safe handle design is a winner – really makes it feel like a solid one piece pot. A thought on a bag – maybe Sea to Summit could list the recommended Ultra- Sil or Big River dry bag size as part of the product description? The new Frontier Ultralight Cook set is a brilliant redesign in the Sea to Summit line up. As an alpine climber, I obsess over both weight and space savings and this new cook set checks both boxes. I paired the cook set with a jet boil Mighty Moe and compared it to my `` go to '' MSR reactor kit with Sea to Summit cup and bowl. The Frontier Ultralight cook set weights in at 20 grams heavier than the MSR however, it provides 2 cups, 2 bowls, and a 2. 2 liters pot. It also seems to pack better in a rucksack which is critical when trying to jam everything into a smaller rucksack. The space and weight savings when considering two people, is definitely making this new cook set my `` go to '' for summer adventures!

I 've used the collapsible 1. 4L pot from Sea to Summit for a couple of years now and really enjoy how compact it is, so I was a little hesitant on the non- collapsibility of these pots. I was concerned about filling these pots up with items that might scratch the non- stick finish. They include a nice cloth that allows the smaller pot to nest into the larger pot and protect them from each other. I used that cloth and a bag to put my stove, fuel, all of my dishes, and utensils, plus my LED light strip into the 3L pot. It's all kept in nicely by the handle clicked over the lid. The 3L size was not as much of an issue as I thought it would be, just stuff more stuff into it! I have a large set of pots/ pans and the 3L size Frontier is easily the best volume/ weight ratio of any of them. Even including the handle in the weight. The non- stick is AWESOME and the bottom heats very evenly. I enjoyed cooking in this much more than my 1. 4L collapsible pot. The lid `` hook '' for placing the lid on the side of the pot is a nice feature... always hard to find a clean place for your lid! I also had no problem keeping the lid in place for draining pasta, nice solid lid fit on the pot. My only `` issue '' is the bottom of the pots has an `` indent ''. This is great for strength, but the diameter of the indent is slightly smaller than my optimus crux stove... so the pot is a little unstable/ off- kilter on the stove. Still 5 stars overall. This is a great pot set.

[ The pots are firstly well made and have a nice fit/ finish. I like the sizes as they provide good options. I feel like some others are either too large or too small. The handle is nice that it can be removed and it ’s easy to snap back on when needed. The nesting storage is always good as well. Only thing that could be lighter is possibly titanium but it ’s extremely light for the set and I don ’ t think that would be worth changing. One thing that could be nice is the handle interface being on the lid as well to snap into just to not be fighting steam with your hands but not a deal breaker. Good pot set and might end up getting another set here soon. Do recommend

[ First off why I gave four stars. The handle is too heavy for the small pot. When empty with handle attached the pot tips over. I use these with my overland set up so space is not an issue. The pots are well made and distribute heat evenly. Clean up is easy because of the non stick surface. I like how the pots nest into each other with the handles inverted also securing the lids. The microfiber towel in between the two pots is a nice touch to insure the pots don ’ t scratch themselves in transport. These replaced an old MSR cook set that I had for over 30 years. They were much bigger but too big for what I needed. I can cook for two people with the Sea to Summet set plenty of capacity. All in all very pleased.

[ I wasn ’ t expecting this to be so light! Even with all the pieces in the pot it is still really light. This doesn ’ t take long to heat up and it cooks pretty evenly from what I can tell. I only tried soup in it so far. It wasn ’ t hard for me to clean it afterwards because it was just soup. I do think other things will be tougher. The handle is a little hard to take off in my opinion. I ’ d worry about older people or people with fragile or weak hands being able to do it. Overall I ’ d recommend this.

[ I wish I could give this Sea to Summit Frontier Cutlery Set more than 5 stars because it is exceptionally designed and made. First, it is incredibly light and would make a convenient addition to any camping pack. I could barely notice the weight at all, which makes a huge difference when you have so much to carry. Second, the design of this cutlery is brilliant. It is very thin and stackable so it takes up a very small amount of space. It also comes with a carabiner so that all the pieces stay together and you can hang it from your pack. This is such a nice bonus and still adds very little weight. Third, I love that this is made with durable aluminum so that it is strong enough for the toughest of hiking trips, but is still light. The edges are smooth and it ’s very tough. The only trouble we had was figuring out how to open it up initially, as you have to remove the handle and then reattach it. It will be very handy for our upcoming camping trips, as camping season is about to begin for us.

We got a couple of these sets previously and liked them so much, we got two more,( one for each of us now!) We found ourselves seldom using plates, but more needed bowls. In addition, we really needed a sturdy, non- breakable cup for the kids. This little set was everything we needed and then some. The utensils are a lot better than you 'd think too, and they snap together for easy storing, packing, etc. AND keeps you from losing a piece! We 've only used these a few times but they seem really sturdy and like they will hold up. We were happy with the colors and color choices. The dunk bag seems really well made, too. I 'm only hesitant to say these are awesome because we have barely used them to know. On that note though we do plan to purchase a set in each color for future camping trips.

[ My family has recently decided to get more into tent camping, and keeping things light is important. Since many of the meals would be made from freeze dried packages, there was little need to carry a heavy two- burner propane stove and fuel tanks. The JetBoil Stash model looked like just the thing to boil up a few cups of water to make a pouch of food. Not wanting to wait until we actually needed it, I gave it a few test runs under different conditions right at home. It is quick and easy to set up, and I ran into only one easy- to- remedy snag- getting the stabilizer leg assembly to snap onto my fuel canister. Where I live, there's not much selection in fuel, and mail ordering it comes at a high price. That meant getting Coleman brand was my only option within an hour's drive. The problem is that the stabilizer is just too hard to get onto the canister bottom without feeling like you 're going to break it. I have n't owned one of these before, so I do n't know how much variability there is between fuel brands. The good news is that a minute's application of a file fixed it!( See pictures). Once I got it all assembled, I was able to get 2 cups/500 ml of water boiling in about 2- 1/2 minutes or so on average. On really cold days or ones where it was very breezy, it was a little longer, but still really fast. One could easily boil water for and prepare several pouches of food within 10- 15 minutes, even if everyone had something different. I am very happy with my new stove!

[ I just LOVE this new Stash camping stove. It ’s the lightest and most compact in the market that I ’ ve been able to find and JETBOIL is a leader in this segment. It ’s easy to pack because it ’s so compact and light. I was able to boil two cups of water in about 2. 5 minutes. The pot sits on top of the stove very steady. They also sell a frying pan which is the next item I want to get. The flame comes out strong and the way the bottom of the pot is designed to keep in the flame/heat for maximum power. I was a little worried there was no wind guard for the flame, but it seemed to do well with a light wind( haven ’ t tested with a very strong wind but I would probably find some cover if needed. The stove component is made of titanium and is very light yet strong. Great design and quality.

[ This is a great addition to my backpacking/car camping kit. It's sturdy and well designed. For long distance backpacking, I will use just one of the sections for salt& pepper as all 3 sections are pretty heave when every ounce matters. The cool thing is that each section is divided into 2 compartments so you can carry two different spices with each section. The lid of each section is designed so only one side of the compartment will pour out spices. It's easy enough to twist the plastic lid to access the spice of your choice.
