Even though it's wider and heavier than some boards, it still cuts through water like butter. I bought this board for the purpose of paddling with both of my preschool aged children, and it worked like a dream. I 've also ridden this board with my partner, a combined 350lbs, and the board held both of us extremely well. This is an extremely stable and well balanced board for riding tandem with adults, children, or even pets. There is more than enough room on this board for your coolers, snorkeling gear, whatever you want to take along with you.
