I bought these pole for me and my 5- year- old grand daughter because of their adjustability. I use them on trips, and is she's along, I collapse them down to her size in some situation when she wants to use them( and feel like she's part of the group!). They are very durable as well!

These poles are great value for what I need. I wasn ’ t looking for the lightest pole but something reliable and still semi light weight. I appreciate the longer extension as I am tall. And they collapse nicely to fit on my bag. I ’ ve taken them on a couple hikes so far and the tips are in good shape after some heavy use in rocky terrain.

[ I 've used this pole to hike Baden Powell, San Gorgonio, and San Jacinto peaks. So far so good. It does what I expect it to. Easy to use. I have n't used other poles before so I do n't know how this compares to others, but I 'm happy with it and hope to keep using it for a while. The only downside is that at its shortest length, it's not small enough to fit in my pack( versus a foldable pole) but that's not an issue for me since I can still attach it to the outside of my pack.

Recently used trail trekking poles at three western state national parks under various conditions, such as crossing rivers, climbing over rocks, climbing steep terrain, etc. The trail trekking poles performed under every condition and functioned as a hiking performance tool. I 'm looking forward to using these trail trekking poles on many more hiking trips.

I purchased tips to go on my new Black Diamond treking poles. I have been hiking with my family and the Boy Scouts for many years. With my next adventure heading to Philmont I chose to purchase trekking poles and tips to support me as I climb up Mt. Baldy. In trying hikes at Mohican they were useful to keep me upright in some slippery spots, but they really proved their use at Shawnee State Park. Climbing the elevation and not having poles with these tips would have been impossible. In my opinion looking at others gear Black Diamond treking pole tips gave me more grip and stability to be able to finish the 2, 000 foot elevation change, 2 day, 25 mile backpacking trip.

I love how light and compact these are compared to other poles on the market. I was cheap and went with aluminum to save a little bit of cash, because I did n't think the 1oz. weight saving was worth the bump in price for the carbon ones( at least not for me). They perform well, and my knees seem to be way less achey, which was the main reason why I purchased these. I do wish that the poles came with a snow basket included.

I ’ ve been using the BD z- poles since my AT thru- hike in 2013. My original pair finally broke, after 9 years of heavy use. I love how small they pack down and how strong but lightweight they are. I just got my new pair( the Distance FLZ) and they are fantastic! I love the adjustable top pole and that it still has all the features I loved about my first set of z- poles. I ’ ll never use anything else, honestly. These are reliable, sturdy and light. 10/10 y ’ all.

I took the carbon fiber poles on my 9 day Tour of Mt Blanc. LOVE them. Fit perfectly in checked luggage and performed beautifully on my trip. My hiking partner had another brand of collapsable poles as did another couple I encountered. Both had to buy new poles in Europe. I love the cork grip and the shape. The quick lock is easy and interchangeable tips came in very handy for a variety of conditions. I 'm giving a pair of these for Christmas.

I love these Cascade M. T. carbon fiber poles and I have Leki and Eddie Bauer aluminum poles but prefer the Cascades. My biggest backpack with them was a November '17 Grand Canyon North Rim- to- South Rim four day trip. At age 74 I needed everything LIGHT and these Cascade CF poles were perfect.

I am typically of the belief that you get what you pay for, so I was wary of these poles, but I thought for the price I could n't go too far wrong, as you can easily pay 3 to 4 times for poles like these. I 'm an avid hiker and have been using poles for years. I also do n't just use them to steady myself, but to propel me forward, and to cushion me going downhill, so I am pretty hard on them. Just got back from a 24+ mile day hike up Half Dome and Glacier Point and the poles worked great. BTW, if you are going to use poles; put your hands through the loops the correct way- up from the bottom, like a cross country skier.

I bought these poles for a few days of hiking in the Adirondacks and they are amazing. Light, durable and easy to adjust. I even saw a few others on the trails with these same poles which is always a good sign. I looked around and did some research before purchasing and like others have written, other poles of equal quality cost 3x or 4x more. And if you 've never hied with trekking poles, give it a try, makes all the difference in the world!

Use this on many occasions when my bad back starts giving out after walking or standing for too long. What a relief to be able to sit down for a while...... especially when there's no seating around( sidelines at field games, golf tournaments, etc).

I am using mine for soccer games where I can sit during the game on the field without having to lug a bulky chair down to the field. It's not cushy, if that's what you are looking for. It will also be great for winter training on a turf field where there is no seating. I have been looking for it since I originally saw it. Finally, I found it at the golf section behind the counter. I love it!

Lightweight trekking poles provide enhanced stability and support while hiking, helping to reduce strain on your joints and improve balance on uneven terrain. They can also help distribute weight more evenly, making it easier to navigate challenging trails. Additionally, their lightweight design allows for easier transport and less fatigue during long hikes.
Lightweight trekking poles are typically made from materials such as aluminum or carbon fiber. Aluminum poles are known for their durability and affordability, while carbon fiber poles offer superior strength-to-weight ratios, making them ideal for serious trekkers. The choice of material can significantly impact the pole's weight, performance, and overall user experience.
Choosing the right length for trekking poles is crucial for comfort and efficiency. A general guideline is to adjust the poles so that your elbows are at a 90-degree angle when holding the grips. Many poles are adjustable, allowing you to customize the length based on the terrain and your height, ensuring optimal performance during your hikes.
Yes, lightweight trekking poles can be used on a variety of terrains, including rocky trails, muddy paths, and steep inclines. Their design helps provide stability and support, making them versatile for different hiking conditions. However, for extremely rugged or technical terrain, you may want to consider poles with additional features like shock absorption or specialized grips.
When selecting lightweight trekking poles, consider features such as adjustable height, grip material, and locking mechanisms. Some poles come with ergonomic grips for comfort, while others may have shock-absorbing systems to reduce impact on your joints. Additionally, look for poles with durable tips and baskets that can handle various terrains.
Absolutely! Lightweight trekking poles are versatile and can be used for various activities beyond hiking, such as trail running, snowshoeing, or even walking on flat surfaces. Their stability and support can enhance your performance in these activities, making them a valuable tool for outdoor enthusiasts.
